Lenovo makes one good phone every few years and the rest is trash. Stock OS is horrible, but you can change it anyway so that's not a big issue. If there's a similar Xiaomi or Oneplus for the price, avoid taking the gamble.

Just how much better is Xiaomi Mi 9's camera compare to the Mi 9 SE? I like the latter's smaller form factor and greatly reduced price. I can also deal with a slightly worse processor seeing as the 712 is a beast regardless. Technically, camera performance would be the only factor in determining what phone i pick, but if hte Mi 9 SE's camera is nearly as good, i'd see no reason to get the Mi 9 instead.

Still using my Redmi Note 3. Battery life is still fantastic. The camera in low light is the only real issue I have with this phone. It's a shame lineage dropped support for it. Though I've flashed the EU version of MIUI which doesn't have any ads.

I have been with my current system for since december of 2016. Since then I dirty flashed from CM14 to Lineage 14, then Lineage 15, Then recently LineageOS 16. I Have been thinking my OS is the fault of battery drain for some time now and recently put to test it. Shockingly it is.
But what is a good way to start over and bring in all my data without a lot of work. I own multiple of the same phone which is how I did the test, but only one is on my carrier. I am considering just buying another phone second hand in the right carrier. but ehh.

I stopped dirty flashing years ago due to the same experience you described, these days I do the annual maintenance by wiping system, data and recovery, flashing their latest versions from fastboot and then restoring using the method mentioned above.
