First phone

ITT post your first phone.

Mine was the Bosch 509e, released in 1999, when I was 8 years old. I probably got it that year (with pocket money) as well, since the Nokia 3310 had not been released yet (that came out in 2000).

I didn't buy my first cellphone until I was 20 years old in late 2003. Motorola T720.

Nokia 3210. I have no idea how Ericsson and Motorola managed to make much worse phones back in the day than this but they did. Everyone had this.

Flip phones are one of the pinnacles of technolo/g/, and this is a proven fact most of us can agree on.

they have shit buttons and lackluster features.

Very nice.

That's pretty cool. You didn't have a phone as a teenager? Although I guess mobile phones didn't really become popular for consumers until the late 90s.

I'm not sure if I believe you.

I just googled that - I think my dad had that same phone in blue. It was a cool phone.

>people born in 1999 are now old enough to use Jow Forums
Worrying. Anyway, the 3GS was a great phone, I had one too, I bought it off a friend, and I think it was originally his dad's.

>people born in 1999 are now old enough to use Jow Forums
Worrying. Anyway, cool phone. I like Samsungs.

Yeah that was a very cool phone at the time, one of my friends had one. It slid in both directions to reveal media buttons didn't it? Nokia smartphones were definitely the coolest phones before touchscreen smartphones came along.

Yeah that was a cool phone, and I was surprised to find out that it actually sold more than the 3310. But for kids my age, the 3310 was more popular. I guess we were just a little too young when the 3210 came out.

I had a similar Sony Ericsson. No I don't remember MusicDJ, don't know what that is. Sony Ericssons were cool for having cameras though - I think the first cameraphone I ever saw was a Sony Ericsson with this camera that attached to the bottom. Some teacher at school had it and I thought it was the coolest thing. This was probably in 2003 or something.

The SLVR was a cool phone. I think I wanted to get one at some point but I never did.

That looks a little older than phones I'm familiar with, I'm guessing that's early to mid nineties?

That's a cool phone. Sorry that your brother was a wanker.

You had one of them? Didn't mobile phones cost a ton back then? I thought only companies owned them at that point.

The 1969 Rotary Trimline

One of these. Bought a BMW 750il back in 2000 and this came with it.

list 4 things Jow Forums whoms't this doesn't apply to

bosch made a phone?

nokia 3330. The difference between this and 3310 was that this one had pinball game in it and WEP browser, which was borderline useless as it could display three lines of text at time(1/3 of this post).

but at what cost!

I had 3310 as a little kid and got my balls blown out when I heard that you could browse the internet on this thing.

Phillips C12 that I got free with a credit card.

These were very popular in the UK around the time I got mine (1998)

It didn't really have any games but it did have a weird "biorhythms" function where it would tell you how your health/lovelife/etc was given your birthdate

gotem

Barclaycard were doing a promotion where they'd give you a free phone (which at the time was the C12). As I was just about to go off to university I figured that having either a phone or a barclaycard wouldn't hurt. Explains the popularity, anyway.

That sounds like a good deal. I think I paid about £50 or something for mine

Got mine in 04 after high school graduation.
