Editing very long videos

I have recorded a 5+ hour video of me coding and talking. I want to edit it down to a three part 3x30m tutorial with an intro and music for the first few seconds.

What video editing software is suitable for this?

shotcut can do that as well

I would use ffmpeg for certain projects if the seeking wasn't so shit.

i use davinci resolve because its free,
but that might be too big of a scope for what youre proposing. its easy enough for what i do at least.

avisynth

Da Vinci Resolve is free.

I'm in the same boat.
I've been trying FlowBlade, but it's a little obtuse. Especially for me since I've never done video editing.
I heard that Kdenlive is easier though, so I'm going to try that tonight.

Cinelerra CV or kdenlive

hitfilm express

Doesn’t sound like you’re doing anything fancy or requiring precision cuts, so just about any editor will handle the job fine.

avspmod or "patched" adobe premier

As an unironic Openshot user, this made me chuckle heartily to be quite honest.

Davinci Resolv. Nothing quite compares

As long as you have a h264 source, otherwise you are mostly out of luck. Besides h264, you only have professional formats to pick from.

Type this:
man ffmpeg
You are welcome.

Kdenlive my man

Pirate siny vegas 14

kden cant load videos with multiple tracks
at least its ui is usable/clean unlike openshot

Final Cut Pro
