I switched from w7 to Ubuntu a few months ago and have been very glad I did. I'm dual booting w10, and it is absolutely pure cancer every time I run it (like 5% of the time). It won't even let me use 24 hour time and be in my timezone LOL, and the update for this month will take TWICE as much disk space as the April release. I've had a few growing pains with Ubuntu, but it's been fine (only major thing is GIMP is quite strange to me coming from paint.net).
Highly recommend it to anyone avoiding w10. Check protondb.com for games if you use steam.

Yeah, last place I was at we did the win 7 to win 10 upgrade and I got stuck in center of it. From the deployment image, patching image, fix deploy tool because of new patch, rebuilding image (do this 2x more times), to then having to fix our software deployment/update tools scripts to deploy any fixes needed for programs no longer working correctly because of win10. Fucking nightmare. While it will look good on my resume when I go hunting for a job next month (took winter off) it will also invite people to hire me to just do that shit all over again.
