How can 1 (ONE) man be so BASED?

>humans crash cars: avoidable human error
>computers crash cars: unavoidable because software is inherantly buggy and problematic even for the most advanced, maintained software
Jesus fuck.

>Apple Engineer
Oh fuck, is Steve Jobs okay??

why would tesla be able to kill an Apple employee? were tesla and apple working together on something?
i am so confused.

Companies have "peasant" insurance to cover the cost of losing an employee due to death in service.
There is no need for a law suit.

Aren't Apple releasing their own self serving car soon?
This is all about publicity and slander.

Human error is not avoidable

Yes they are.

Human error is inevitable, this is a 3rd grade concept

WTF?! i love Tesla now!

Attached: shorty.jpg (173x292, 5K)

he's not saying that you can completely eliminate human error
he is saying that when a human makes an error, he could have taken a different action to avoid that error
a human's error is entirely that human's fault because that human could have taken alternative measures to avoid that error and yet he did not
then he suffers the consequences for said error, whatever they may be

when an autonomous computer system makes an error it isnt the fault of the operator and yet the operator has to suffer the consequences
this is fine when you are fiddling with a glorified tetris machine but when you put that shit in a several ton block of metal and glass screeching down the road at over 50mph such errors are unacceptable

Everything seems to be working fine here, what's the problem?

I mean, I guess the autopilot should have killed it without crashing.

>being such a cuck that you dont drive your own car

>tesla cars are targeting the competition
Fucking niiice

Attached: Ancapistan.jpg (1920x1200, 1.08M)

Yeah Nah I'll take my chances in manual mode

What if, on average, errors comitted by an autonomous system is lower than human operators?

Wait, what browser is this?

He's dead, Jim.

The problem is, the best AI is on the level of a small child. Would you trust your life on the driving skills of a child?

Please like that wou-
>As the car drove toward the median, it did not break—rather, it accelerated from 100km per hour to 112km per hour in the three seconds leading up to the collision, NTSB said.
So was it apple or someone else and why? Either way tesla should be liable because they made it autopilot.
is

That's fair. I wouldn't trust current autonomous vehicles with my life.

Asian Americans have at worst average incidence rates, and they have the lowest fatalities from traffic accidents. Native Americans are the highest then everyone else, then asians.

even if it were at the current point in time, where there isnt nearly a large enough sample size to say for certain that it is, it is the nature of computer software to become slower, more bloated, and more error-prone as time goes on and more middle managers with no technological experience force programmers to tack on more and more superfluous features every year, eventually culminating in them laying off most of their competent software engineers in favor of hiring more "designers"
so its still gonna be a hard pass from me, senpai

umm... sweetie?
Shitty humans made and programmed those computers.

to add on to this, once you go full tech you cant go back
once you make all the vehicles on the road autonomous, or even half of them, that's it
thats what you have to live with
the internet seemed like such a great thing in the 90's, when it was just a neat little thing of wonder with just a hint of changing the future
well it did, but nobody would have guessed how far it would go, the deleterious effects it would have on society, the mental illnesses it would enable, the lives it would ruin, the people it would kill

you dont think about the bad stuff until you are stuck with it

oooh ohh

yes yes yes yes yes

the autopilot killed him for being an apple fag

AI please deliver us from Apple Microsoft and Google, amen!

I wouldn't be surprised to find out apple sent out an engineer to die in a Tesla so they can get negative publicity.

I'll just go for a drive with my half ton of hazmat with the energy density of a hand grenade. Everything will be fine.

A 15 gallon gas tank has more energy density than a hand grenade too
But those never explode right

>Asians so bad at driving their presence alone fucks up AI

I was diagnosed with BPPV, a chronic vertigo disorder, which means I can't drive without putting people at risk since I can have a severe episode while driving and lose control. I would love to have a self-driving car if that means I can one day have a car of my own.

I'll just travel at 70mph in a tin can packed with more than half a ton of lithium. What could possibly go wrong. It's not like they spontaneously combust and crash planes with just a few ounces of lithium or anything.

Attached: teslafire1.png (920x613, 807K)

Sounds like Tesla's systems worked as intended, it killed a faglord

Gasoline catches on fire when you light it, so I'm perfectly fine with 1500 lbs of shit that explodes for no reason at all.
t. iToddler

Attached: teslafire3.png (1200x630, 1.49M)

My Tesla already caught fire today so I'll be safe for the rest of the day. I feel perfectly safe driving around a 1500 pound power bank that already caught fire once. Did you know that gasoline is flammable?

Attached: teslafire4.jpg (1280x720, 226K)

Those Note 7 fires made me think. What would happen if I had a battery 5000 times larger? Wouldn't it be great to drive it around?

>I don't understand how it works so it's bad, I clearly have more knowledge and common sense than the educated team of people making six figures despite having done absolutely zero research on the subject beyond reading OP's clickbait headline
Why are luddites even on this board

humans caused car accidents every year: 1.25 million
computers caused car accidents: less than 10
do your math, dumbo

people who think self-driving cars will EVER be a reality should not be allowed to vote

>already a thing and has been in zero full fault accidents over millions of miles driven
You're the one who shouldn't be allowed to vote

If computers have grown intelligent enough to kill Applefags, i'd say we are ready to implement them in all cars across the globe and make it mandatory ASAP.

>lie about shit
it must be true then

Denial and anger in one go, neat

Wasn't there some research going on into AI spoofing with printable stickers (like a QR scan code) that makes the AI think it's seeing something completely different?

The researchers said that just adjusting a few pixels and they were able to make the AI think a banana was a cat; even though to the human eye it was still definitely a banana.

Not normally, they just burn off slowly until the fuel is gone.

Show me a Li-Ion battery pack that burns slowly instead of exploding.

That means that Apple has the technical capability to enter the auto pilot systems of Tesla's and kill everyone that has a competing product.

Good

Check out Lithium Ceramic batteries.

Shits cash.

Can cut it up, burn it, puncture it, overcharge it and no fuckhueg chem fire failure.

>Make the whole body and panels out of LCB.

But it has 30% of regular battery energy density

5 trillion times safer though. I think it could be used in case formation and such, prices willing.

Shitty humans have been trusting other shitty humans on the road for more than a century, and 99.99985% of the population (USA 2017) have lived to tell the tale.

>cars driven by humans : ???
>cars driven by computers : ???

Wouldn't it be the opposite? I hate systems that fail on

>trusting software and sensors literally killed hundreds of people in plane crashes
>despite 50 years old software maturity, there are still pilots that are paid a lot and occassionally need to take manual control of the plane

>WEEE, LET'S MAKE MEME CARS BECAUSE SILICON VALLEY PRAISES AI A LOT THESE DAYS WHAT COULD GO WRONG XDD

fuck is wrong with you, dumbo? I am right

Give me percentages and conditions.

alright
let's assume AI caused accidents were 10 (it's much less)
100% - 1250010
x% - 10
x = 100/125001 = ~0.0008%
so, humans caused 99,9982% of all accidents

conditions:
one is controlled by computer, other by human

case closed

Attached: 1556483876262.jpg (563x651, 226K)

>killed apple engineer
and you call this malfunction ?

nice, still diverging from the facts. Let me help you:

Would it be correct to compare cases directly? Like X population commits 50% of crimes, Y population commits the other 50%. So X and Y should be equally criminal, right? No. Despite being 13% of population, who commits 50% of crimes? Now this is a correct approach.

Now give me numbers about autopiloted cars and accidents they've involved, do the same about normal cars and accidents they've involved.
