I don't use Github

ok

I don't see the sense in carrying on this thread if that is the case

>i'm afraid we aren't interested in hiring you, user
>from your contribution graph it appears that you have an inconsistent level of productivity

Is this a thing?

Yes. Why would it not be a thing?
>Monday: Dindu Nuffin
>Tuesday: Made thing
>Wednesday: Look at all these success! Much Rejoice!
>Thursday: Dindu Nuffin
>Friday: Did a Little
>Saturday: Why do I have to do overtime at home?
>Sunday: Don't call me on my day off

Would you hire them?

That would depend on their qualifications, not whether I could harass them outside of the workplace Pajeet.

Github is the social media of version control software.

So if I commit README.md twenty times a day monday to friday, you would hire me?

Attached: janeway.jpg (450x360, 21K)

I wouldn't hire you; you use Jow Forums

kek

Jokes on you I'm behind 10 proxies.

I cringe at the amount of autism here.

you're an autism then...

I contracted it from your mother. Which explains you now.

I'm not autistic, reyard.

based and lazypilled

>I'm not autistic, reyard.
>spends time making cringey Jow Forums themed github account
k

that's enough to find your github profile.

Then find it.

So? You can screenshot anyone's profile and post it. Meaningless.

Anyway, here's mine, go ahead and find it

>hiring based on use of personal time
yeah nah i'll pass thank you. not keen on being an unpaid code rockstar who's life revolves around work

Nice a git thread. I have a question. I'm using the Gitflow workflow, but I'm not sure if I should be pushing my hotfix/feature commits that I haven't finished yet. Pic related. What are the implications of having a feature folter in the origin remote?

Attached: ubgq.png (122x440, 27K)

He was saying that sarcastically you autism.

this post made me smile

Samefag

What? What benefit does that guy have to samefag that? How does it discredit if he was actually samefagging? Whether it's the original guy telling you he was sarcastic or if it was actually me who's telling you it's sarcastic what difference does it make? Does it invalidate it in any way? Do you think calling out a samefag puts you above other people simply for calling them out or something? It's not a samefag but even if it was, so the fuck what? He was being sarcastic and no amount of samefag calling out will ever make that any different you fucking retard.

this shit is wrong since I commit everyday.

Literally just opening issues, which have now been fixed.

Attached: Capture.png (739x194, 8K)

You or others can access it? I don't understand the problem. It's just another ref like master or develop or whatever you've made

Weak

>update readme.md
>its whitespace shit
>update readme.md
>convert tab to spaces
>update readme.md
>make some text bold

>3 "contributions"

dude, your autism is amazing.
There's nothing to discredit. Prove it and find the user. It's not my responsibility to back your claim.

underrated

either you are commiting to private repos or your commit email is not added to your github account.

it only counts commits that are on master, and you have to opt in to make it count private repos as well

You're really pissing me off with your tripfagging, I see you being a faggot all over the place.
I wish you would stop.

just filter truipfags and namegas to anonymous

no

GitHub used to have a streak counter for number of days you've committed in a row without a break and some Indian codemonkey wrote a whiny blog post when they removed it because he was using it as his proudest achievement on his resume.

Is this a Tetris thread?

Do you autists actually program for free? Why?

Attached: 1556872403672.png (1600x1219, 907K)

Because it's fun.

Attached: t.jpg (259x194, 10K)

I use github for my own personal projects or for contributing to open source projects. I don't use it for my regular job.

Somebody please post the one which has been engineered to spell out PENIS.

has anyone managed to spell nigger with their github commits yet?

this nigga committing 24 days per week

tgm or gtfo

good experience
good exposure
i barely contribute to opensos projects but even i get companies trying to recruit me from my github profile

Attached: [distant apapapapapapopapapapo].jpg (675x450, 21K)

Too bad even with good github you will still have to get through the interview bullshit.

eh fair enough too
there is a big difference between actual programmers and niggers that just copy paste from stackoverflow
you need a live interview to filter out the women and plebs

>you need a live interview to filter out the women and plebs
I don't see this system working.

thread theme song btw
youtube.com/watch?v=tVj0ZTS4WF4

why not, if you cant write a fizzbuzz up on a whiteboard without googling the answer you can fuck right off

I mean women are still crawling through it somehow.

that's a lovely graph

in my experience there are two types of woman programmers
1. the ones that just memorise the answers and leech of the beta orbiters in university
2. the ones that have more testosterone then estrogen and are basically men

the latter are a ok, if you can do the fucking job i have no problem

fucking this

Attached: Screenshot 2019-05-03 at 14.03.49.png (1476x422, 52K)

i appreciate the effort

In my defense, all my commits are pretty large changes to the codebase

Do you guys commit every single comma you add or what?

Attached: Screenshot_2019-05-03_17-50-53.png (711x139, 7K)

Large commits are bad.

>Do you guys commit every single comma you add or what?
basically what bitches do
every big boy knows you only commit working code
these zoomer faggots just commit every 30 minutes regardless

Attached: D5CHqa2W4AAoYMW.png (519x153, 5K)

I don't want to find you. I'm just saying that it's possible to find github profile with that information
It's careless to leak personal information in the internet

wtf how?

I've been slacking.

Attached: Screen Shot 2019-05-03 at 7.31.54 AM.png (1253x361, 43K)

what can i say, my code is just that good
no really though, i have no idea, may be they search for specific things like contributions to specific libs they use or something

>he didnt commit on christmas day
pleb alert

Attached: disapproving hare.jpg (387x461, 24K)

I really should do more.

Attached: Screenshot_2019-05-03 - Overview.png (727x187, 11K)

>Do you guys commit every single comma you add or what?
It's called full time work
And I guess 20% is tickets/comments and another 10% is merging

Im still very conflicted
Should I commit only working code or should I commit more often even if its working code, sort of like backing up?

Attached: 0201 - xdb9AM2.png (470x698, 54K)

Split your task in a sequence of mini tasks. Complete a mini task - commit. Complete all mini tasks - push. This way it will be easier to rollback your changes. Do not commit code that does not compile.

well yeah definitely dont push broken code, most shops will have CI and if your commit breaks unit tests your in the shitbox

Attached: 1548616347911.png (764x212, 15K)

That's why branches exist. You can have broken code in your branch, but not in master. Merge when done.

Attached: 3382493410.png (764x212, 16K)

I have almost one year sober now. At first I was not interested in programming, then it sped up

Attached: contribootions.png (567x120, 7K)

Left a high-output position about a year ago, was closer to 3k contributions. Took a vacation in August.

I switched jobs at some point in the last 9 months, can you spot when?

Attached: Screen Shot 2019-05-03 at 12.16.16 PM.png (1488x398, 59K)

No our standard practice is you commit for each feature or branch you work on. So I work on 3 different repos, maybe 3 branches each. A lot of times too I comment and work on pull requests.

When you have a real job it's not just commas and spaces...

Use branches, brainlet.

This is not a thing, you'd know if you weren't a retarded neet
Productivity isn't just committing to github and normal people understand that

Chic-Fil-A (or however it's spelled, we don't have it here) will hire him on the spot as long as he's not a faggo.

not mine

Attached: power_lvl_hi.png (738x186, 13K)

>github lol

Attached: export.jpg (739x194, 105K)

spamming commits and forks is a great way to fool the HR retards.

I do commits containing logical units of work or at functionality checkpoints. I typically make ~20-30 per day. As others have replied, this is what it looks like when you have a big-boy programming job. My contribution count this year will probably exceed 5k at my current pace. When I am on vacation or on weekends, I will switch to my personal projects which are also on GitHub, so it all counts towards the same stats.
