i cant wait until its gone
now that it is approaching uselessness as a source of degenerate porn, i can advocate its demise wholeheartedly

The porn is pretty decent yo

:( I love tumblr porn and can't find a good alternative community

>he doesn't know

Ever since the purge I uninstalled this shit and never looked back.
These guys ruined one of the best phone browsing porn aggregators on the internet.
Let them crash and burn the little fucks.

What a huge fucking faggot, right?

porn isn't allowed on tumblr anymore retard

It's not allowed but the community is still there and posting. Even creating more nsfw blogs and content

Just work for any major newspaper. Those "journalists" are nothing more than glorified bloggers.

>tfw you love dumblr but it's going the way of livejournal
My biggest fear is losing all that curated content

Attached: 1455071438609.jpg (320x290, 15K)

truly.
longform? absolutely.
also, porn was a part of it, not the whole of it unlike it's being memed around now, but since it was a pretty massive part of it, and their sensitive content filter was so broken and definition was so vague, people just left because it was dysfunctional, unreliable and unwelcoming.

Blogging needs to be decentralised. Learn from tumblr.

based

You guys like gifs that are sped up and are extremely short because of the tiny maximum file size?

I actually really liked tumblr, there was so much obscure stuff on it you couldn't find anywhere else. It wasn't even about the porn but all the weird otaku niches and japanese songs you couldn't even find on youtube. A lot of artists also post/posted their art there. Anything from 70/80s jap idols to obscure pixel shit.

Their app has been a complete dumpster-fire since version 9 (2017?), images would take forever to load, filled with stupid ads, constant changing of the UI, overall really bloated and slow to start. I went back to v8 and everything works fine and snappy. It's really sad what Yahoo/Verizon did to Tumblr.

The limits imposed on gifs made people get creative with it.

I forgot to mention the disgusting cancerous tumour that is all of Oath Inc and its ads.

>porn isn't allowed on tumblr anymore retard
This is subject to change:
pcmag.com/news/368139/pornhub-wants-to-buy-tumblr-amid-news-that-its-up-for-sale

>nobody can find anything
great

I followed THREE active Nick Cave fan-blogs that all deleted their accounts after the purge. There is not a single place on earth that will ever have that again.

otaku? to each their own
tumblr was basically modern culture, in all aspects of it, from pop to niche, past, reminiscing and really new and forward

I actually would really hate that.
Tumblr isn't all about porn. If pornhub buys them, that'd turn people away from it.
There's a reason why despite all that, nobody takes pornhub seriously as a video hosting or anything.
The best thing would be for tumblr to become their own company again.
It's sad that many companies, sites, services and apps chose to be bought out and subsequently closed, when what they really needed was to figure out their revenue model, by themselves or with somebody else's help.

Blogging is part of web 2.0 and the nu-web. Blogging is cancer. You should have a WEBSITE. Not a fucking blog. Fuck tumbler for getting rid of the pron.

Man, I had a fucking blast on tumblr on its crowded days. It was a place were users actually cared about the quality of the content they posted and reblogged, it really had quality stuff going on and I didn't even used it for porn per se.
As soon as tumblr was sold to Yahoo I knew it would die and it did die, the porn ban was just the last straw people needed to really drop Tumblr, as you could already see a lot of complaints about "forced changes on Tumblr by the new team" from a shit ton of blogs even before the porn ban stuff

gif is a shitty lossless format so there was no other reasonable way to control bandwidth costs. i don’t need to see 10 MB anime gifs

I’m still a regular tumblr user and I actually think the community had gotten overall better since porn was banned. Although I do miss having an ethical way to obtain user generated nudes without supporting porn companies (and thus human trafficking). Girls were just throwing their pics onto there for free, it was great. If pornhub buys it, I will be forced to quit because I refuse to see my add money used to exploit women.

You can thank this website for further degrading the internet and causing the far-left to take root. This site singlehandly promoted all the SJW nonsense you see to this day and its highly ironic since it started off as the opposite to it all.

t. someone who hung around the site back in the early 2010's

Tumblr is a symptom of the regression of society, not a cause of it.

Tumblr helped fuel it though.
At least before it was a bit quieter and the communities were rather niche and isolated, not to mention the rest of the world wasn't exposed to it until the site went full steam ahead.
It was the first place I distinctively remember seeing third wave feminism take root, and you had no way of arguing with them because all they could do was delete your argument and construct the replies against you.

twitter.com

It's funny, I only knew about all of this basically when I stopped using tumblr in 2017/2018. I've used it since 2009 and never got to see a single political post on my dashboard

>yahoo buys tumblr
>yo, calm down, we promise we won't ruin it :)
>2019
>tumblr is fucking garbage ripped from features and options and freedom

It's dead jim.
Don't prop up a hollow corpse of a once decent website, that now only serves as a data harvesting tool.
Content creators moved to twitter.

I feel bad for Pillowfort. If this happens and porn/NSFW stuff is allowed again on Tumblr, it kills any reason for me to use Pillowfort.

This might surprise you but you don't have any idea what you're talking about, and third wave feminism wasn't born on the internet. The fact that YOU first ran into it on a website is not the website's fault.

Only someone who has no concept of people actually being alive outside of the monitor in front of him would mistake a real life movement for an internet movement.

It's more akin to a forum subculture with a completely homogenized and standardized sense of humor, post format etc. The only 'personal posts' that gain traction are those written by neuro/ethno-atypical users comlaining for the sake of being seen. If you try to talk about philosophy, technology, economics etc., your postdate at best ignored. At worst, they get noticed and dogpiled by users who disagree by posting memes instead of arguments, until the old order of acceptable posts are reestablished.

just use neocities lol

Good riddance.

with 10gb limit?

post one blog

Their search feature is worse than tumblr's. No filters.

Tumblr was a lot of things to a lot of people. If you were seeing SJW shit on there then it's because you followed SJW blogs. I never saw any of that on my timeline.

>>pornbots still rampant
>> Nazi blogs still posted
>> harmless pictures deleted due to idiotic algorithm
Better is not the word for this mess

You don't need more if you're posting text and images.

freeusefacial.tumblr.com

i'm still following 200-300 active blogs

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

>tfw your favourite interracial erotica blog that wrote about white european girls being africanized was turned into a Pinoy Avengers Endgame marketing blog and they deleted the posts

Disney is the literal definition of fucking evil.

>pillowfort
what did he mean by this?

Those Ebil Nazis!!!!

Not him but patrician taste my dude

But how do you open it? It tells me that the blog has sensitive data with no way of bypassing

You need to be logged in and click Go to my dashboard. It's unintuitive as fuck.

thanks
if anyone wants to share tumblr blog content hit me up Alice#6134
/gif/, pornhub, and literotica doesn't do it for me

Tumblr is a garbage site to begin with, ridiculously low max resolution alongside their compression.
It's only good for porn since no blog is worth reading, following your favourite artists can be done on Instagram or Twitter.

>see this post
>go search for tumblr porn
>end up cumming into my sister's panties again
god damn user why do you do this to me

pornhub to the rescue!
buzzfeednews.com/article/ryanhatesthis/pornhub-interested-in-buying-tumblr

>people just use it for porn

>>> harmless pictures deleted due to idiotic algorithm
This is the worst part of the NSFW content ban. Not losing the porn, but losing innocent stuff that the retarded filter couldn't properly identify.

Wtf I love Disney now?

Tumblr was amazing at aggregating based on interests it made echo chambers for sjws becsuse they went to a free range blogging site and just let the algorythm feed them their own opinions.

Tumblr as a platform was amazing at what it did. If you wanted obscure porn you got that. If you were just interested in hearing your own opinions, you got that too.

>"huehuehuehue what do you do all day? heuheuheuheu"

Attached: hue.jpg (259x194, 5K)

The problem is most small sites and services just aren't and can't be profitable without getting bought out and integrated into a larger company's advertising/analytics botnet, since small sites don't have the resources to analyze all that data they could mine, and these days your site has to be extremely complicated to attract any user base at all, so you need the revenue from analytics (or the promise of it) to even start such a service.

I got all excited for the possibilities until I saw the premium. I dig it if they're not datamining but it seems very self-limiting.

>If you wanted obscure porn you got that. If you were just interested in hearing your own opinions, you got that too.

That was the best thing about it, tumblr would absolutely not force anything on your dashboard, you only saw content from blogs that you were following and that's it

>not wearing you sisters panties and her clothes and shoes just to go out and become the girl and lust for chad's thick cock

Attached: 1556225756312.png (398x582, 342K)

Please don't, just let it die already. The site was already on a death march even before the porn ban.
