Any suggestions on speakers to serve as stereos for music and front corners for home cinema surround? Bonus points if there's a center speaker from the same model line or if they sell them individually so I can also get a center of the same model. Was thinking Nubert, small German manufacturer on a self-declared mission for maximum neutrality and detail.

so i piked up a sony GX67ES receiver from a thrift shop for 3 bucks. Problem is there is no speaker output and the power switch doesn't work (when you plug it in it automatically powers on but you cant turn it off) The headhpone jack works, so im defiantly not chucking it, but my repair skills just arent good enough. I sprayed some contact cleaner, and measured some voltages, and i believe the problem is with the speaker switch circuit and not the actual amplifier.

Is it worth it for me to get it repaired professionally. Its solid specs and I love collecting Sony ES products, but i don't want to spend more than its worth. Any opinions on what i should do

Yes.

N33t DJ douchebag.
A record collection looks like this.

I like you're frosted record player. Plastic sleeves isn't a thing for me. I intend on getting some black record jackets for most of what I have when I'm more settled in.

Attached: 68518_chroma.jpg (1536x2048, 509K)

For inner-sleeves go Mo-fi anti static. Get'um on Amazon.
Outer plastic don't really matter.

Definitely noted, much thanks

also get your speakers off the shelf. the vibrations from it will distort your turntable

retard

big thank. words are hard.
I also don't play my music very loud, so there isn't much vibration to worry about. I also assume you mean it'll distort my records.
I'll eventually get some stands to separate everything.

Why are all these pro audio woofers 8 and 16 ohms? I assume that some of these would be run in parallel to be more suited as an amplifier load, but this also makes trying to find an amplifier that can provide voltage to just one driver very difficult.

good bike ride, got home just as it started raining again. time to relax with the best headphone experience possible, STAX

nah
its solid midfi
better than most ot the stuff in any normie store

Gorgeous

guys i currently got the jbl lsr308 mk2, im thinking of swapping them out the for the mackie mr824 or mr624

is it worth swapping?

kinda agree
the 300/400 models, excepting the one thats chinese-made, are better than nearly all integrated amps in that low hightier category
its not really budget though unless youre comparing to something 5 to 7K

I know where to get the amplifiers. The problem is the driver itself. The difference under load is only a few dB, but it is very, very expensive to extract those dB with high impedance drivers.

The best li'l $5 a pair speakers.

Krell = indestructible until it catches fire

rotel is good you might also consider audiolab and higher end marantz

.

why yes, i do listen only to 100 years old jazz recordings on vinyl, what gave it away, the background noise snd abysmal quality? don't worry, i compensate using lo-fi equipment and having damaged ears.

Anyone got experience with a Cambridge Topaz SR10/20?
Looking for a 2.1 receiver to replace my Onkyo TX-SR308.
Listen to music and watch movies, but not too interested in surround sound or anything.

baby krells dont get hot actually just warmish - they output only 400 wpc max unlike monster krells with their 2000 wpc

Attached: DSC_0686.jpg (1749x1200, 675K)

cambridge topaz is decent

the noisy vinyl reminds him of his childhood days with their biplanes and steam power motor cars

should i get 6 or 8 inch speakers?

Space, price, listening distance, driver integration, required bass extension and output.

8 for better bass, on average
unless there's money or space constraints
more expensive 6 inch woofers open perform better than typical 8 inch ones tho because of better designed more costly components and giant magnets

I was also considering the pioneer slim

thoughts? or is jbl still the poorfag king

Attached: Capture.png (1793x691, 315K)

ive read that because they have lower power output and current they tend to distort if you play louder or if your speakers are 6 or 4 ohms

Ah. Just got some Klipsch 3.5s to replace my Mission 71bs. Think I'll stick with Cambridge or maybe go for separates or vintage (Teac or NAD most likely).

It's not that much difference in a price today.

Use this
to get this

Attached: 79890866.jpg (1080x1080, 136K)

klipsch can be sibilant you might consider peachtree nova or decco-65 which have a tubish sound when you want it (it can be switched off) - theyre $400-$500 on ebay but sometimes theyre on craigslist for $250

Attached: nova.jpg (1600x1069, 137K)

girls really dont care about audio gear

Anyone knows anything about this thomann deal?
thomann.de/gb/pas_2002pca.htm

It seems to be one of the last new AB amplifiers for a reasonable price, but I can't find any information about it and seems to be exclusively sold there.

isn't that a "PA" amp? on par with crown and behringer? may not be too good for home audio

Attached: PAS-2002PCA-specifications.png (898x843, 66K)

those numbers look good
loadsa clean power

Attached: sanwu TDA7492P bluetooth audio amplifier-1000x1000.jpg (1000x1000, 141K)

Well, amplifier is an amplifier.
It doesn't look like a PA, because it has no fan, you don't want a PA amp without a fan, convection air movement in racks is fucked.

pls answer

You have to put the speaker in their pants.

>Mostly at 1,500
Rip
Maybe I should just get my old sansui cleaned up

come on guys i need opinions

doubt it would be worth teh hassle of swapping for those. Either you like the neutral sound or you get some hifi shit. Those jbl'
s are great for the money.

If you have no problem with hiss - probably no.
Just save for a big upgrade like to JBLs 708

yea the white noise / hiss is the reason i want to sell my jbl lsr308

Might be slightly less hiss, not that I remember comparing them clearly on that point. General response of the speaker is not particularly better.

You need to check if there is hiss present on these mackies too.
Actives seem to be really hissy unless they are priced high. I'd rather go with passive speakers.

Any experiences with KEF's new Q or R series?

My kefs are from 79.

Attached: wrEU72nZ_FHsvejZ4x9Kl8Z2SBL3_N1zSmmfRKfUOeg.jpg (1536x1368, 300K)

Why doesnt Teac get much love/attention anymore?

Alright hear me out. I know nothing about speakers/monitors.
I am currently using a pair of HD650s and a $100 monoprice dac+amp. I am quite happy with the quality and probably wouldn't care to spend money on "upgrading".

What kind of setup and cost would I be looking at to get something equivalent with speakers?

The Q bookshelves have a little smile EQ.
The R-series doesn't. KEF also provides measurements of this line FWIW.

Alright, I've decided to sell my JBL LSR308mk2 for the Mackie MR624.

I owned the R900 and it's a VERY good speaker. KEF is a top notch brand that I have 100% confidence in.
