Open about:config and set xpinstall.signatures.required to false.
That's it. Now go an reinstall / reconfigure those addons. And for anyone on firefox who hasn't hit the issue yet, still do it, because you will eventually. Also, leave that fucking setting as false forever, because Mozilla is hiring more and more incompetent sluts and niggers every day, so who knows when this will happen again. YTML.
Something tells me this guy is literally having the worst night of his entire life.
Matthew King
it's not easy annoying hundreds of millions of people all at once to varying degrees.
Luke Walker
how much are corporate IT networks panicking right now? roastie HR babes must be downloading spyware left and right... clicking on all sorts of disguised links
Ryder Robinson
I already had it false and it happened anyway. I went into windows appdata and restored everything in my firefox profile by a week that I could and then moved my current date back a few days. Hope it's fixed soon
John Russell
thank you op now what is the best ad blocker to run on 4 chins?
They literally just threw this guy to the wolves when it comes to this issue.
Benjamin Kelly
I just rolled my clock back to yesterday, restarted Firefox, and re-installed be extensions. Fixed it for me. Same thing used to happen to R4 cards for the Nintendo DS.
General consensus says Ublock I believe.
Christopher Jenkins
I've had it set to false forever. All my extensions still work. FF Quantum 66.0.3 (64-bit)
>reinstall/reconfigure those add-ons The problem is that if I have to do it, then I might as well do it in a different browser. Goodbye, Yikesfox!
Jordan Sanchez
Firefox thinks they're corrupt
Brayden White
I didn't even need to reinstall extensions, I just changed the setting and all of them came back to life. Very easy to fix.
Christopher Parker
this worked
Daniel Sanchez
It just hit midnight for me, and the addons haven't been disabled. so setting
xpinstall.signatures.required and xpinstall.whitelist.required to false worked for me on v66.0.3
Jordan Ross
This only works for the current session. When you restart, you'll have to do it all over again.
The only perma-fix seems to be migrating your profile over to ESR/Night or Dev version...Or waiting for Mozilla to fix this shit.
Julian Myers
>tfw esr 60
Tyler Ortiz
none of this is fucking working for me
Liam Powell
Mine is already false and shit isn't working
Liam Cook
Did they fix for everyone already? Just turned on my desktop (win 10) and Firefox is working fine without any disabled addons. Checked my brother's computer too and his is also functioning normally.
Elijah Morris
ublock origin is the only right choice
Jackson King
Thanks user It just killed all my addons like a minute ago
William Roberts
This works, except that my userscript manager doesn't remember my scripts. So I can't use Jow Forums x.
Ryder Rodriguez
proof of addons working Its currently 12:19 AM, may 4th here (EST). Anyone else in this timezone having problems or is everyone on east coast fine?
Also not using beta developer or nightly, so I don't have the xpinstall.signatures.required set to false in about:config
Connor Torres
What the fuck is happening? I leave the house once for 4 hours and my browser has ads again.
Lincoln Kelly
I'm on East coast and it nuked mine at around 11:30 PM. Maybe it just hasn't gotten to you yet for some reason.
I use Tampermonkey and it works fine. This temp fix is a real pain in the ass though because I close my browser out every 20 minutes.
Brandon Taylor
I'm also EST but I set user_pref("xpinstall.signatures.required", false); user_pref("xpinstall.whitelist.required", false); around 11pm, and no issue yet.
Jonathan Fisher
Just tried this and still getting the download failed, please check connection error when trying to get my add-ons back.
I was Violentmonkey. When I added it as a temporary add-on, it says "Reading manifest: Error processing options_page: An unexpected property was found in the WebExtension manifest." And when I open it, I don't have any scripts.
Matthew Reed
Mine's been working totally fine throughout all this as well. I did as a precaution, but I don't know if this is supposed to hit at any moment or when it's midnight here or what.
Bentley Ward
my fucking god the browser literally JUST closed by itself and the addons stopped working while I was looking at this thread.
Levi Rogers
wtf i made mustard gas
Carter Diaz
Other people have reported issues with loading ViolentMonkey as a temp add-on too.
Sorry m8, you're just fucked for now, unless you use TamperMonkey temporarily
Joshua Morgan
It says it hits at midnight on may 4th, so I assume we're good, as it's past midnight here and no issues, I even restarted my browser to check. rip, sorry man. turn back your clock, then apply those config values, then set your clock back. see if that works.
Evan Jackson
how do i get my custom theme back?
Kevin Allen
Both of those posts are me.
Jacob Perez
>Install Brave >Like it so far >Disabling auto fill doesn't disable autofill >There isn't a disable history button >Closing the browser and reloading doesn't bring back most of my tabs I don't get it. Best I can see from my experience is that people complained about this stuff years ago and it's been a "we'll get to it" issue. Every time I look at new stuff I just want to go back to my dumpy internet wife, even if she doesn't work the best she's reliable and faithful.
Kevin Morris
The config doesn't work unless you're on nightly or developer right?
Hudson Phillips
WHAT IS MORE LIKELY TO DESTROY MOZILLA 1) Google 2) One expired cert 3) Putting Kevin "Armag-addon" Brosnan in charge of fixing it
Blake Rivera
>Open about:config how?
Luke Collins
I am on regular Firefox 66.0.3, maybe because it's linux/installed through package manager?
okay but how do I undo Firefox being managed by a bunch of shitty brown women who can't code?
Camden Russell
why? there are only 4 sites i ever visit. are you honestly suggesting that one of those 4 mainstream sites is going to try to break into my little ol' laptop computer?
Leo Miller
I'm on 56 too and it broke my adblock
Lincoln Hall
you have to go back
Jaxson Green
Time travel back before diversity quotas.
Gavin Foster
This isn't just only America being affected.
Expired certificate affected users globally.
Asher Ramirez
>waiting for Mozilla to fix this shit So you're pretending this is an accident?
Parker Cruz
So you think they intentionally broke almost all addons?
Aiden Bennett
>trying to disable JS in the browser written by the guy who wrote JS Brave is a fucking meme. I hate Chrome and FF but the guy invented JS ffs.
Alexander Flores
It was an "accident" in the same way that someone decides it's a good idea to get hammered before going for a drive. Sure you didn't mean for it to end up this way, but if you had half a brain you'd realize it's your own fault.
Aaron Cook
un incels can't you wait 4 hours for a fix from mozilla?
My desktop firefox, which is 64 bit works perfectly fine with all add ons as I type this, but firefox android on my phone is turbo fucked. I panicked and tried reinstalling to see if that fixed it so now all my bookmarks and history are gone
Kevin Morgan
I did this and now I have a bitcoin miner I can't get rid of
Gabriel Peterson
I'm posting from Australia btw, so this is definitely a global issue
Grayson Barnes
Maybe you didn't restart firefox since the update? That's why you dont have it yet. Same shit here.
John Peterson
What happens if "it" hits? Just shit like adblocker and themese get turned off?
Kayden Morales
>Joining the botnet because you can't wait for an official bugfix
Parker Carter
themes*
Jace Parker
It hit me while I was fucking watching a video and all my addons just stopped working and I can't add shit.
Carson Martinez
This. I can't fucking watch vids or streams now. I have Java and Flash to latest versions and won't play vids or streams.
Austin Hughes
>watch vids or streams Maybe it's time to grow the fuck up then and stop playing video games.
Lincoln Sullivan
DO NOT RUN THIS IT SHAT ON MY PORCH AND LIT IT ON FIRE
David Gray
Install Vivaldi.
Evan Wood
it just happened to me and apparently theyve known about this bug for about 6 hours now from what ive seen on twitter this is pathetic
Hudson Jenkins
FUCK, WHERE DID I LEAVE MY MOZILLA BRAND VERIFICATION DILDO™?
Jayden Murphy
All my addons got disabled like 5 minutes ago Thank god Jow Forums got me into making backups. restored and disabled signatures. now I'm good
Nope, i'm also on linux with firefox 66.0.3 installed, it's because you are in a different timezone, soon you will also get this problem. When that happens, simply type " about:config " in a new tab and set " xpinstall.signatures.required " to " false ".
Liam Brown
Download KeePassXC
Carter Morgan
install chrome, brave or vivaldi
Thomas Richardson
Not him but will doing that beforehand prevent it from shitting itself?
Jonathan Bennett
Yeah, I kept getting that on all the add-ons I tried reinstalling after doing the 'signatures.required' stuff. No one gave me an answer so I installed a pile of garbage instead.
