What kind of infrastructure are they using to serve all this traffic??

I doubt you can manage an operation on this scale without building your own infrastructure, serving thousands of petabytes from aws is ridiculously expensive

They have their own data centres in quebec canada. A lot of gambling sites are also hosted there to avoid US laws.

they have cdns - content delivery networks. when you connect to pornhub you are actually connecting to a local version that's close to you, they have copies of all the most popular videos, and some of the least popular.
when you request a video it gets pulled from the nearest server that has it. if the video is popular, it may be your city's, if the video is not pupular, it may be some other city/state/country nearby, or even the central server.
if a video suddently gets popular, it is copied over to more servers

Ironically porn hub is yet another business doing exceedingly well with a language (PHP) developers continue to complain about being unusable.

They don't accept virgins so best get some experience beforehand.

The only worry is I think I'm overqualified. I looked up their senior dev and I have like 3-4x their accomplishments. I wonder how much they pay...
