You have to enable Firefox's telemetry "Studies" system in order to get the fix

You have to enable Firefox's telemetry "Studies" system in order to get the fix.

All you have to do is allow them to run experiments on your computer, and you will be able to get your extensions back. There's a good goy

it works

They could have a proper hotfix mechanism for these security issues. Instead it's baked in with these experiments/telemetry/studies/backdoors. I hate nuzilla so fucking much

>Moezilla can LITERALLY install shit and change your browser's config through a "we want to do some anonymous studies on ur computer, we're the good guys ;^)" setting

I thought Google were the bad guys here.

I didn't have to do that, since I'm no retard

>They could have a proper hotfix mechanism
they probably have one, but they can't use it this time because the problem is around certificates

the fix described in is very simple tho

you can just install the new version manually:

ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/candidates/66.0.4-candidates/build1/

doesnt do shit

Gud ducc

Firefox dev here; we're just waiting on Homeland Security to get back to us and let us know when we can push out the fix. Sorry for the disruption guys, but trust me it's worth it.

Finally it worked, thanks OP!

Looks like it's working on nightly

THE ABSOLUTE STATE OF FIREKEK

Attached: expect nothing.png (500x276, 200K)

Hahaha what a privacy browser you have there, mozilla.

So tell me what to use.

At least glowing niggers can probably manage renewing certificates yearly.

Be Brave, white man.

there's a simpler fix: waterfox.net/

Attached: waterfox.jpg (1024x512, 34K)

I don't even have that option anywhere. My addons are not broken though.

>Use studies to push a fucking ad for a tv show.
>Large amounts of users start disabling studies.
>Be told by the entire community it's unacceptable to use the studies platform for things that aren't studies.
>Promise to never to this again.
>Use studies for pushing hotfixes.
>Act surprised when it doesn't reach as many users as they expected it to.

Only fucking Mozilla can come up with this shit.

>You have to enable Firefox's telemetry "Studies" system in order to get the fix
thats it, they let this fuck up happen on purpose to get more data from you, fucking nu-mozilla and their social justice agenda...

I enabled this but all my extensions are still gone. What do?

Does setting "app.update.lastUpdateTime.xpi-signature-verification" "1556945257" through about:config work?

I dont know why people put up with it

I am using the dev ver and my adons work fine

I fucking missed that and find it as hard to believe as this clusterfuck. Was it like a video on the start page? Did they (((apologize)))?

Attached: 1386095502872.jpg (863x752, 155K)

this only works in beta and nightly that are basically inetenet explorer tier wih addons

>using stock firefox browser
>not using dev or nightly

Just update your FF, nigger.

restart and wait a few seconds
mine reappeared; I had to manually re-enable only the theme

if nothing works, get the latest stable, which was released a few hours ago:

ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/candidates/66.0.4-candidates/

does this even have the firefox addons? probably not, probably jewzilla has already removed them all from the cloud.
based roastie leading the addons department

>uses firefox
>doesn't use firefox esr
Firefox esr has none of this sjw bullshit. srly use it. Even has the drm addons

>1556945257
try, retard

Did M*zilla even explain what their fix was? Or are they really just pushing one through studies in total obscurity like the giant fucking retards they are?

do based gorhill tools work on it?

Yes

They used studies to push an unwanted add-on that for many users seemed like malware. They denied it was an ad.

That was one of the first instances in which it was clear Mozilla could fuck with you at any time and without any user input. This is another such instance, and it just so happens that the solution is to trust mozilla again with studies. Paranoid or not, that's fucked up.

You're just describing firefox.

isn't all this worth it if it means mozilla can stop those nazis addons?

If you look at the stats, everything went downhill after that even though they gained users after quantum was released.

Yeah, learning of this + addons fuckup in one day, I will switch, just not sure to what yet, Pale Moon at the minimum

I'm trying Brave for the first time as we speak, but frankly so far it doesn't seem nearly as good with regards to usability and customization.

I hate trannies as much as the next guy, but my autism requires that my exact settings be present, especially regarding how the address bar autocompletes.

Attached: brave.png (1920x1040, 132K)

I have the botnet studies enabled but I'm not getting my addons back, mozilla please stop fucking around..

>disabling https
For what purpose?

Honestly considering Ungoogled Chromium at this point, sick of this shit. Icecat has its own GNUtard narrow sighted issues on top of being based on Trannyfox and all the other forks have datamining complaints, just like Chromium's.

they pushed out a new cert with the same name but higher expiry

I didn't, I'm also wondering why their built-in https everywhere doesn't seem to be working for me.

Attached: brave.png (727x305, 15K)

it has firefox addons, including legacy addons. and the latest alpha will allow the latest version of everything.

Turn it on, receive the fix, turn it off. Wow. Clear cookies first if you even give a fuck.

their whole addon UI is a dark pattern, they just fucked up not enabling the "load once" trash in this failure state

replace all occurrences of "appDisabled":true with "appDisabled":false, and "signedState":-1 with "signedState":2 in extensions.json in your profile directory. (Get to it from about:support)

restart firefox disabe->enable addons

It's not even possible to check those boxes for me lmao

Firecucks btfo I swapped to chrome based browsers a decade ago what the fuck are you stupid fucks even doing on ff anymore the extention support is literally broken unless you botnet the browser anyway
LMAO discord basedfox trannies btfo

at least addons work

So, Chrome?

not sure if I read that correctly, but apparently Normandy comes enabled by default in Firefox ESR...

The nightlies / devbuilds have built in telemetry and backdoors enabled by default. Yuck.

Unless you enjoy tasteless movie-tie-ins, Looking Glass and Mr Robot I would not touch that shit.

Fuck Mozilla.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

This is the fix:
mediafire.com/file/5hv55dba5btdbbj/[email protected]/file

Just temporarily load it with about:debugging to apply the fix. The fix should remain after restarting.

You can turn it off as soon as extensions work again.

Make sure your clock is correct and you may have to restart again.

>install this random xpi from Jow Forums
yeah, NO! imma just install chrome.

xpi files are just renamed zip files. You can open it up in 7-zip and see what it does yourself.

What were they thinking with changing the logo? How do I change them back?

Attached: default256.png (256x256, 30K)

Use an older version of firefox and find addons that work with your version.

Updating broke it. Use a older non broken version install addons and never allow stupid to update.
Problem solved.

Yes, because nightly is in permacuck mode. That's made clear on the download page.

My addons work on firefox.
Don't update, don't get your programs broken.
Or you an update and get your programs broken.
Its a choice.

>outright lies
Followed by an entire thread of people who don't know how certificates work, or what they're talking about.
Fuck I hate Jow Forums sometimes.

Not him, but I'm running 56.0.2. I'm avoiding studies and Normandy. I manually added the certificate, but some of my add-ons are still fucked. The only one that came back was Ublock Origin after checking for add-on updates (with pic related boxes unchecked). Previous update check with boxes checked did nothing. Restarted FF after each change.

Attached: Capture.png (574x283, 32K)

nice miner bro

>you have to let them install software on my machine to fix the problem wtf

Attached: 1512318871161.png (205x246, 7K)

Try checking "This certificate can identify software makers."

>don't update your browser lol
>Jow Forums - technology
How many toolbars you got installed, grandma?

No dice

thanks for the fix,OP.

The REAL fix is using a good browser like Google Chrome. Yeah, they spy on you but at least they don't turn off your extensions.

I found a workaround for my problem. I went to the add-ons site, added the disabled ones from my list individually without ever removing them, and everything is back to normal. None of my settings were changed either. I confirmed it by checking my scripts in violentmonkey.

Where did you find the root certificate?
I just got cucked and fucked by the big tranny moz://a cock of normandy and add-ons now work.
But was the AIDS worth it?
I will try to see if I can export the root certificate to avoid the other PC from being infected with gay moz://a AIDS.

>Where did you find the root certificate?
hastebin.com/yoboqulolo.rb

Alright, I exported.
I may import it in another Firefucks.
Also where is this certificate stored?
When the update is released can I delete it?
And most importanthy: WHY THE FUCK MOZILLA IS TAKING SO LONG TO RELEASE AN UPDATE THAT CONTAINS JUST ONE (1) LOUSY ROOT CERTIFICATE??
THESE FUCKERS ARE UNBELIEVABLE!!1!

It literally says you can disable it after your extensions get reenabled
Or you can wait for a proper fix

>hastebin.com/yoboqulolo.rb
Alright, downloading to check if the hashes matches or you faggots are pushing even more AIDS

Enabling telemetry/studies is not necessary.

Just install the study directly.
storage.googleapis.com/moz-fx-normandy-prod-addons/extensions/[email protected]

It's safe, user.

tough shit, the hashes don't match, what gives?

>googleapis
this doesn't seem based user
i think your trying to give people malware

different hashes though, will post results

Fuck you shill. I ain't installing shield studies.

Just use

Are you too /v/ermin to paste it in a file called mycert.crt?

Working good here

I fucked up, redownloading, so

It only took 10+ hours for a half assed RC

>This study sets extensions.screenshots.system-disabled to true.
>This study sets dom.push.alwaysConnect to true.
