All those fuck ups in the past

>All those fuck ups in the past
>This massive fuck up with the dead extensions
>Firefoxfags still too stubborn to quit it
Why. No, seriously, why. Why people insist on not leaving Firefox when it has been proven multiple times that Mozilla has nothing but incompetent people now. Are Firefoxfags masochists or something?

Oh look, it's one of these threads. There are already a bunch of threads discussing this, user. There is no need to have your personal echo chamber. Just post in one of those threads.

I don't want to support a monopoly. Also took me like 2 seconds to reenable my addons.

Every other browser is a Chrome re-skin. Firefox is unique.

>there's no good alternative but just switch browser bro

>Every other browser is a Chrome re-skin
It just werks. Real talk, I gave multiple chances to firefox but I'm done. And I'm not going to support them just for sake of "it's not chrome"

j-just turn on studies
everything w-works great again

Attached: 1547270354863.jpg (864x497, 79K)

All I had to do with go to about:config and disable the xpinstall shit.

Sure thing, jew

Yeah no, it didn't worked last night, and many of the fixes on the other thread were temporary (stop working if you closed firefox)

I like the ui

Well I mean it worked for me...

I also like having my favorite sites on the url bar. Don’t know how to do this with other browsers because I’m teeth illiterate

Say what you want retard, but I'm not using a browser being hold together with duct tape just because the other alternative are chromium re-skins. I want a program that works, I don't give a shit about corporate fights, and in this case, all chromium browsers work while firefox keeps shitting the bed because some retard in their group was too busy painting his nails. I'll just go for Opera or Vivaldi, but fuck Firefox

Attached: 39854368.jpg (368x354, 38K)

I literally never had a single problem with Firefox on the 6 computers I have used it on over the years, but keep trying, maybe you'll convince someone to convert to your jew shit

lol as if google is even half as competent
just look at their design department
thankfully it is still possible to revert to the old design

Attached: googledesigners.png (1992x1938, 1.84M)

Firefox supports having the tab bar at the bottom of the window
Chrome doesn't

Is there some chromium based browser that doesn't phone home to google and won't eat 31 of the 32 gb of ram that I have?

Why I need to quit objectively best and privacy respected browser because of small issue with certifictates
This inconvenience will be fixed soon and I continue to use best browser.

You mean you didn't change that setting right when they introduced it? Why even keep the bad features on?

I used to think Mozilla was a tragedy, but now I realize it's a comedy.

Attached: 1556410130936.jpg (831x799, 55K)

I honestly didn't know that it was there. That's my fault I guess for stupidity but I'm only human can't remember everything.

It's working now bros! Based Fire Foxy!

>Vinesauce
Great recommendation for once.

>wake up
>extensions don't work because of some signing issue
>go into about:config and disable certificate checks
>go about my day

Seething chromecucks.

>browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.section.topstories.options
What the fuck is with that long ass shit that comes after this? Can I just delete it?

>WHY
Because I choose to.

>Why
Because, 11 years and fucking chrome devs can't figure out how to do this to keep a minimum tab width.

Attached: FFTabs.jpg (1190x380, 60K)

The alternative are even worse.

There's no other fork that does Quantum on Windows.

What is that? I don't see it. I only see the + next to a tab.

so what do I do about this app.normandy?
what settings should I have

>Why. No, seriously, why
Because I NEED tabmixplus. I ran firefox 56 for that reason alone. And they managed to somehow break it. I really don't even understand how it's possible. It will take me a month to stop seething because I can't use it. I really don't think that whatever fix they come up with will resolve issues on 56.0 even though they manage to break it on an old version jsut fine

The only people with dead extensions are those who fucked with FF extension settings. Google is FUDing the rest of the fake hype and Mozilla had to respond with something that will turn out to be wrong.

Its when you have too many tabs and it shows the right side arrow that is apparently clashing with the drop down arrow

You guys must be doing something wrong with your browsers, because none of my addons have been disabled. I'm on Firefox 66.0.3 and everything's fine.

Attached: 20190504 115047.jpg (1920x1050, 132K)

The only major alternative is Chrome, which is even worse. I mean, Chrome devs apparently can't even figure out how to make a scrolling tab bar, not to mention the even more intrusive spying.

So what realy is the issue here thats causing this shit, tell me, what did you do different?

Negative. Intermediate Cert expired. Once FF decides to check if the extensions are signed by a valid cert it disabled everything.

Happens to Tor users, happens to old FF versions. If the extension was signed by a cert that was signed by the interm. cert, you're fucked all the same.

It's automatic. No restart required, you can be browsing and suddenly everything is disabled.

He either has:
* signature verification disabled
* Firefox Studies enabled

Which means he's either open to malicious extensions being autoinstalled or he's being cucked by Mozilla by their "experiments".

I have no idea. Last year after I installed Firefox, I disabled a bunch of things in about:config. I assume this must be preventing mozilla from disabling my stuff. I couldn't tell you what it is, though.

that's not the issue. The issue is that even if you turn off automatic updates, some tranny at can at any time fuck your browser up. What other settings do you need to disable to prevent that from happening?

Attached: default128.png (128x128, 25K)

I still don't get the whole 'experiments' bullshit. Why do they need to do 'experiments' in their regular releases, why can't they just carry them out on their testbenches instead. It just sounds so corny because the user just wants to use the browser to browse they don't really need this extra stuff. I'm surprised it's come this far desu.

>wake up
>extensions don't work because my browser is being handled by a bunch of retards
>has to fix it myself so it can be usable again
>go about my day
>s-seething chromecucks

Attached: 34895.jpg (237x212, 6K)

Just got home Jow Forumsents. How do I fix this bullshit? Do I have to reinstall all addons?

1. suck my cock
2.install gentoo
3. ???
4. PROFIT

Try , works and not temporary

>maki ligon
based and despacitopilled

Not him, but I have neither signature verification disabled, nor do I have studies enabled and all my addons still work, on the stable version of FF. I have no idea why, but it seems I'm not the only one who has not suffered addon breakage.

They still can't accept their browser is horrible, 5 stages of grief. Something like that.

This.

What version? OS?

These

What timezone?
This is a certificate issue so based on your local time you may not be affected (yet).

Also, I have studies disabled but enabling Normandy (the Mr Robot backdoor you may remember) and restarting the browser fixed it.

I've used Firefox since version 3.
It's getting harder and harder to defend Firefox because of all the shit they pull, but they're still the best available option.

>Mr Robot backdoor
You know, it's so hard to take Jow Forumstards seriously when they either make shit up, or greatly exaggerate everything.

It wasn't malicious, but the fact remains that they are able to remotely and covertly install extensions into your browser without notifying you. This could be misused very easily.
If that's not a backdoor I don't know what is.

>Mozilla can remotely change my preferences and install addons

How is that NOT a backdoor to you?

Isn't Firefox open source? Why doesn't Jow Forums just make their own fixed version of the browser if they hate it's current state so much?

There's no better alternative. Chrome is a botnet, Chrome forks are just out of date versions of chrome with like 2-3 extra dumb features and contributing to the botnet monoculture, and Firefox forks are the same thing except no botnet monoculture I guess.
Someone needs to create a brand new browser not based on any of the existing trash fires. Then maybe we'll have a good option. Until then, Firefox is the best of a bunch of bad options.

> The fix will be automatically applied in the background within the next few hours.

Attached: 1551921909124.png (652x397, 47K)

SOMEONE

it's current state just changed abruptly

>use FF 60
>works the same as yesterday and the day before that and the year before that

I got my addons to work so, thats why.

Nope, I'm in the same boat.

British summer time here.

>but the fact remains that they are able to remotely and covertly install extensions into your browser without notifying you
They notified users by literally stating that Firefox Studies allows Mozilla to install shit on their browsers and collect information. Was Mozilla wrong by using the Studies function to install an addon whose purpose was for users to play an ARG for a TV show? Yes. Should Mozilla be more straightforward with the kinda stuff Studies does? Also yes. Is it a "backdoor," "spyware" or "botnet"? No, Studies wasn't a default function.

By that definition, any update system is a backdoor. It's true to an extent, but pretty much all computer security is faith based if you're a retard. Not calling you a retard, I'm just saying, normies have to believe in a lot of things they don't understand, or they have pretty much nothing to help them.

Except Normandy is separate from Studies, and enabled by default on stable (and ESR, and Nightly for that matter).

They didn't use Studies for the Mr Robot ARG, they used Normandy.

I don't have alternative. Seriously, what other browser will give me all those adblock and privacy extensions and won't melt my RAM or wont have absolutely retarded design (like tab names fading at one half so I have no fucking idea what it shows).

Its a backdoor, but they tell you about it.

>caring what others do

yikes

Because I refuse to use a web browser where I read shit if everything I read is blurry as fuck and Firefox is the only browser where shit isn't blurry as fuck.

And Chrome and Opera suffer from other really big bunch of issues. I wish I could have tabs and the url bar in a single bar. I wish I had the same performance as firefox. Everything else is the same fucking Chrome shit with a different skin. They are all featureless browsers and Firefox and anything based on it are the only browsers that at least provide something different.

Hell here's the thing, bitch about Firefox all you want, they don't replace features as frequently. On Chrome, there's a new change and you can only switch back for like a month before they forcefully switch and you can't do -anything- to go back. That's some cuckery of the highest degree. Only giving options to go back on shit if there's a high chance of the browser crashing. Come the fuck on now.

Yeah, Firefox keeps fucking up, firefox is a botnet and whatever the fuck. And it's still better than the awful alternative. I'd rather have something broken that I can fix than something broken that I can't fix because the developers think they know better than me.

AFAIK Normandy cannot install extensions, all it can do is change about:config flags and depends on the Telemetry function, not Studies.
By that logic then apt-get is a backdoor.

>not melting ram
i switched to waterfox and while shittyfox lagged at 10 tabs open (especially when yt video was playing in background, it slowly but surely upped it's ram usage until it fucking crashed the pc), now i have like 70 tabs open on it and another browser and don't even feel it

How's Brave? Is it just a meme?

It's FOSS if that helps.

Yes. The sad reality is that there still isn't anything better than Firefox. IceCat seems promising but has no builds for windows.

Have you tried not using a computer that's not 15 years old with 128MB of RAM?

So addons died for everyone and it wasn't just that obscure site I visited?
How can this shit even disable my addons without asking for any permission or doing a restart?

Attached: DvnNMIqVsAAzeO7.jpg (1200x1200, 149K)

The power of diversity hires.

>Also took me like 2 seconds to reenable my addons.
How?

>How can this shit even disable my addons without asking for any permission or doing a restart?
Because there was a cert error, which means all the signatures for most arsons were suddenly invalid and thus were disabled.

Firefox shouldn't disable addons when/if the cert expires, only if it's revoked. In any case, the fix is already in place and they'll most likely modify how the signatures are handled.

Mozilla released a fix. If you have user studies on it will be enabled automatically, if not, you can manually download the xpi.
Other than that there are like a hundred guides on how to disable signature verification or force the reenabling of addons.

Fucking kill yourself incel diaper.

Seething discord tranny

You got lucky. I went through my entire day without addons breaking too, just to have them break half an hour ago. Reenabling them using the xpi they deployed in their studies experiment took like a second though.

How do you disable normandy and what are the consequences of disabling normandy?

Doesn’t matter. 90% of pc’s run Windows, like max 5% is a Mac, the rest is autism.

Those are just the settings for the feed in newtab.
You can delete them if you have topstories disabled, but it doesn't really matter tho.

It’s shit on pc.

braveshills on suicide watch!

>Firefox shouldn't disable addons when/if the cert expires, only if it's revoked.
This is true. Maybe, someone should suggest this approach.

>This study sets extensions.screenshots.system-disabled to true.
>This study sets dom.push.alwaysConnect to true.
WTF?

>provide an example of something that is 1000x more efficient than shitfox
>bah bah that doesn't count1!!

be Brave, white man

It didn't do it to me

>poltards STILL believe Eich was a stormfag and/or that Brave is a safe space for their bullshit
Wew lad.

Youre confused, it's okay. The world is a scary place, lets just turn off Steven Col-user NO WHAT ARE YOU DOING OH GOD MY EYES

Mines working fine though.
