Want help? >State budget & CURRENCY >Post at least some attempt at a parts list >List your uses, e.g. Gaming, Video Editing, VM Work >For monitors, include purpose (e.g., photoediting, gaming) and graphics card pairing (if applicable)
CPUs based on current pricing: >Athlon 200GE - HTPC, web browsing, bare minimum gaming (can be OC'd on most mobos with the right BIOS) >R3 2200G - Recommended minimum gaming >i5-9400F/9600K - Great gaming CPUs >R5 2600/X - Great multithreaded use CPUs >i7-9700K - Extreme solution for absolute max FPS >R7 2700/X - VM Work / Streaming / Video editing
RAM: >Always choose at least a two stick kit; 2x 8GB is recommended >CPUs benefit from high speed RAM; 3200CL16 is ideal >AMD B and X chipsets and Intel Z chipsets support XMP
Graphics cards based on current pricing: >Used cards can be had for a steal; inquire about warranty 1080p >RX 570 8GB - good performance with great value >GTX 1660 - standard >RTX 2060 - high framerates (requires complementary CPU and monitor) 1440p >RTX 2060 - standard >RTX 2080 - high framerates (requires complementary CPU and monitor) 2160p (4K) >RTX 2080 - standard >RTX 2080Ti - better fit for 4K but expensive
General: >PLAN YOUR BUILD AROUND YOUR MONITOR IF GAMING >Don't bother buying a new monitor for gaming unless it's 144Hz with adaptive sync >A 256GB or larger SSD is almost mandatory; consider m.2 form factor >Bottleneck checkers are worthless
All for the modest amount of 975€ (Windows will be a cheap retail key and monitor will be 1440p75Hz or higher).
Is this a good value build? Pic related is the price/performance I would get for the different CPUs. Two of them are bundles with free mobos for AMD's 50 anniversary.
It seems like only the 2600 and the 2700x are worth it, since they have free mobos bundled and the ones in the middle are only marginal increases in performance. (Price is just CPU+GPU+Mobo, since the rest would be the same across all builds)
>tfw all i play is skyrim >tfw a 1660Ti gets me steady 60fps at 4k ultra settings
I was gonna wait for 7nm Nvidia cards before paying out for a top end card, but if the 1660Ti gets me this much, I might just sit here for awhile on the 1660Ti. Works great for all the games i'm playing.
Adam Jones
How big of a performance boost will an M.2 NVMe SSD give me over a SATA SSD?
Matthew Ward
Performance in what?
In most cases it wont really provide any difference since both a SATA SSD and an M.2 SSD are fast enough for any normal operation to be waiting on other things (like the CPU).
Unless you're doing some hardcore RAW editing or something, then you probably wont notice any performance advantage outside benchmarks.

Ask in the original thread. This is a duplicate. Report for spamming/flooding and move on. is less than
pcpartpicker.com/list/7ZgZ9J This is my system, everything has worked fine until now, but last night I was using it and the computer would randomly reboot. It happened in a few different circumstances: while simply browsing, when I unplugged an external hard drive, and when I ran a gpu stress test. It didn't reboot when I ran Memtest or Prime 95 and they showed no errors. I updated all my driver's and it still seems to be happening. The BIOS is fairly old so that will be my next step. What could be causing the problem? Is it more likely a hardware or software issue?
Caleb Morgan
unless u get them for dirt cheaper than a gigabyte z390 elite its not worth
Leo Cook
It's fine if it's cheap enough.
The biggest issue is that it's 2 years old at this point and isn't getting any newer.
Benjamin Price
if u do graphic work ips if u fps game tn
if you are a casualfriend and cant stand bad viewing angles get ips
it's my choice to avoid the shit parts of TN panels, while still being fast enough for most gaming as long as you aren't autistic.
Benjamin Wright
FINE WINE THO But seriously, Vega is still going to be supported for the foreseeable future and will get regular boosts from drivers. It's great at the current prices.
Michael Clark
>Vega 56 is fine For Barbecue on the backplate? Definitely. I cooked some bacon on mine.
Justin Mitchell
IPS is objectively faster than VA generally.
Nicholas Perez
Reminder that duplicate threads is against the rules, and this one is the duplicate and is going to be pruned so you'd be better be better off asking in the original thread instead of losing your posts here.

What's the general opinion on Palit GPUs? Can they be trusted? They seemed like a no-name to me at first but appearantly they are the single biggest GPU manufacturer in the world.
VA at 144Hz is fine. All current panel types have compromises. VA will always have some grey to grey smearing issues in very dark scenes, IPS will always have no blacks at all and glowing corners, TN will always look awful. Just pick your poison.
Cameron Mitchell
Nobody's going to your shitty thread, idiot. You can stay in there alone.
Julian Gutierrez
Asked in the last thread but I'm changing a part. These are all local Microcenter prices by me >R5-1600 for $80 >ASrock AB350 Pro4 for $35 (bundle deal) >Sapphire RX 570 4GB with 2 free games for $120 >2x8GB DDR4-3000MHz for $70
$305 with only 3.5% sales tax too for all this. Good? Leaving soon, so input welcome
Hudson Gonzalez
IPS is objectively shit for my anime though, I can't stand the 800:1 to 1000:1 contrast ratio
Even the high end new IPS panels are 1300:1 at best.
I can get 2500:1 to 3000:1 from almost any VA panel out there.
Evan Bennett
lmao, you even linked to the wrong previous thread to link to your previous shill thread instead.
Do you have all 3 panel types at hand to compare in real world use, or are you just being a retard posting youtube videos? Don't answer because I already know.

>9600K - Great gaming CPUs I want to buy it but I'm afraid the moment I do all of the developers will suddenly start optimizing their games to use 8 cores and I'm left with stuttering mess. What are realistically chances that it won't be enough for 60fps/1440p within the next 2-3 years? I never play on ultra (that doesn't really matter does it)
Jeremiah Thomas
autism.
Luke Nelson
Well good thing I never met my grandparents then. Going to buy it now.
Angel Long
Very high. ALWAYS ignore the OP, it's just a shilling contest from either side. Do your own proper research.
Jason Gonzalez
why actually I do have a VA monitor, TN monitor and IPS phone screens. the trifecta of screen techs
It's safe considering even a 7700k 4c/8t beats ryzen with more cores nowadays. >inb4 some shill says im lying watch at gamersnexus benchmarks

>install vega 64 >overclock it to the absolute binned limit >nice 90c+ temps >cook some fresh ham steak on the backplate >use my horizontally mounted noctua D15 as cooking ventilation, complete with mustard thermal compound for that deliciously tangy hot air transfer ventilating the meat Almost makes me want to build a cooking PC.
If you want to keep your CPU for 5+ years, get a 2700x or a 9700k/9900k.
If you're fine with 3-5 years, the 9600k should be fine for the majority of games. A few titles MIGHT come out that are hindered by the CPU, but it wont be most games.
Connor Long
I've had samsung oled phones before, not currently in possesion though. got burn in, noice
You get to feel good for knowing you're supporting a slightly less jewish mega corp than intel.
Brody Scott
No? VA is fine if you enjoy high contrast ratios.
Christian Butler
>1440p >2060 and 2080 Wait, what's wrong with 2070? Seems like the best choice, it's right there in the middle between 2060(for 1080p) and 2080(4k), no?
Camden Gomez
What a mess
Kevin Lewis
somewhat overpriced for it's performance.
If you get a decent deal it's fine though.
Ryder Lee
4c/8t and 6c/6t are on their way out imo. Get a 2600 at the very least for its 6c/12t or go with a 9700k if you want an intel system.
Grayson Jenkins

i7 9700k is 8c8t i9 is ideal since 8t still choke on the os
Aaron Wood
8700k and 9700k perform almost identically so i assume that 6c/12t is equal to 8c/8t
Tyler Thompson
6c12t doesnt have spikes in frame times? well shit now I gotta go check it
as a 9700k owner, I see no problems at all when gaming AND doing other things like watching a TV show, or web browsing.
Christopher Adams
>9700k >watching a TV show, or web browsing. Don't mean to be rude user, but no shit, it's not 2008 anymore
James Smith
The post i'm replying to said it chokes on the OS, while gaming which is just pure fantasy.

4k tvs as monitors bad still? 12-13ms still too high of input lag for gayman?
Evan Ortiz
>12-13ms still too high of input lag for gayman? Only if you're playing competitive FPS's or similar.

anons pls help, my stove broke and i bought vega 56 pulse to cook some food on its backplate but it wont go past 70c, should i take off fans or something, pls help, im starving over here

What speakers do you guys recommend? I want a 2.0 system and I don't want to spend more than $250. Should connect via cable, not bluetooth.
Hudson Williams
Mods, unfortunately are pretty obvious paid Intel / Nvidia shills scared of the Zen2 launch.

What do I look for when looking for power adapter anons? Does it matter?

doesn't really matter as long as it meets spec.

pls recommend something available in europoorland

Is Corsair Hydro H150i PRO sufficient to cool an i7-9700k? Anyone have a suggestion for a better one performance/sound wise?
It's honestly not all that great unless you replace the fans with something better like the new Noctua 120mm fans.
It should be fine for 5ghz all core though.
Mason Cooper
unironically get a nh d15s
Cooper Hill
Considering that's 12ms in addition to other latency, so you're going from 35ms to 47ms, yeah that's getting to the point where you'll really notice it.
You seem to care a lot about it, or else you wouldn't post.
I'm not the one making duplicate threads. The number of other people who post OPs, including I, delete theirs when they are too late and accidentally post a duplicate so janitors don't have to. is the only person who is so desperate and cares so much about how they must be the >official OP poster that they'll post a duplicate thread and then spam it with thinly veiled bumps like they clearly did in the first 100 posts of because they have to "win" at everyone else's expense.
General wars aren't healthy. Duplicate threads are against the rules for a reason. This thread may have had more anons come to it this time and actually make it more popular, but that was NOT the case with his last duplicate thread where he kept bumping it with filler posts to "win" which is even more rule breaking and unhealthy.
Post a screengrab of your options or something. You're asking for too much spoon feeding.
EVGA CLC 280. Cryorig A40. But yes, get a 220W TDP or better air cooler instead. I hate recommending AIOs. They are pointless and the worst option.
Angel Torres
I've got Amd ryzen5 2600 and rtx 2060 6gb in my build, is the GPU overboard. I have a 1080p 144hz monitor and I have barely enough money for the GPU.
Owen Wright
its fine
Jason Campbell
How does this look as a little upgrade? Only thing I'm unsure of is RAM. Do I really need more than 16GB if I'm just playing games and occasionally using various DAWs?
>Considering that's 12ms in addition to other latency, so you're going from 35ms to 47ms lmao. no? send sources instead of your made up stats. ive seen sites referencing input lag like this on newer tvs
Alexander Barnes
You could try to find a 1070 used to get similar performance and save some cash but it's fine.
Xavier Nguyen
What are some okay 2.0 speakers for media and gaming for those times I don't want to use headphones?
Jackson Phillips

2060 is good for 1080p at high refresh rate. But 1660ti is better value and still should get you at least 90fps in most everything. 1070 is similar to 1660Ti. 2060 and Vega 56 are substantially above.
You don't even need more than 8Gb if you have a disposable SSD scratch disk.
What the hell? How ignorant are you to be doubtful of 35ms total latency being typical?
I have two monitors. One 1080p and one 4K. Waiting for a longer Displayport cable so I switched the HDMI cable to the 4K one and the DP one to the 1080p. 4K monitor is showing no signal. What did I do wrong? HDMI cable works just fine on the 1080p monitor.
Samuel Adams
I actually rather have ips, but i've been looking into VA panels and they're growing on me.
also 1080p @ 120 Hz: 10.8 ms 1440p @ 120 Hz: 10.0 ms 1080p with Variable Refresh Rate: 6.5 ms 1440p with VRR: 6.7 ms
Charles Cooper
So nh d15s is the better option then? It seems quite big. I'll be doing the Gigabyte Z390 AORUS MASTER, S-1151 motherboard in a fractal design r6 case. Is that sufficient space? Do I need one of those bendy screwdrivers to be able to work properly when setting it up? Sorry for all the questions, just want to get my bases covered to make the build more comfortable.
they are the same, basically, 80$ extra isnt worth it
Justin Thompson
Both 2 year old cards with similar perf. AMD tend to improve over the years with driver updates, nvidia drop off a cliff the moment the new gen launches. Buying in 2019, definitely go with the AMD.
Tyler Richardson
>It seems quite big. For you. >Is that sufficient space? There are two clearly written specs to look at: Cooler height Case cooler clearance
Ok? I don't get what you're getting at or how it contradicts anything I posted. So a cherry picked tv is 16.6ms instead of 12ms. I gave the best case scenario in the example to that user which should have been perfectly clear if you can take context into account. Again, not sure what you're trying to show. Not far off from the 12ms I said. There are two which are faster and many which are slower. Maybe you just can't read and don't realize you're attacking me over something you thought I said which I didn't say.
HDMI 1.0 only supports 4k at 30hz. You are using the wrong port and/or cable. It's like PCIe or USB.
It's not worth $0 more, no, let alone $80 more. Similar performance. Similar power consumption. But unless you need CUDA and something doesn't have OpenCL support, Vega outperforms it in most professional software, usually vastly, more stable drivers, etc. But stick with Sapphire or Powercolor with Vega.
Ian Edwards
>wanna buy a radeon 7 >have a gsync monitor friend gave me god dam it whats the equivalent of R7 a 2080?
Cameron Evans
>35ms to 47ms input lag you said. tests clearly show otherwise. you claim more inputlag is added after this testing due to other factors? no
