Because I use the mouse too rarely to justify buying it.
Are these actually good or just a meme?
>notices bulge
owo what's this?
You might as well use a console controler.
I use it in addition to a mouse, it's good when I feel like only using my fingers.
>autism ball
top hue
because i love pleasuring my keyboard's clit
Trackballs should help with wrist strain because rather than moving the wrist joint to push the cursor only the fingers are used. I'm about 6 months in and rarely ever go to the mouse these days and only when I need higher precision. For internet browsing trackball is absolutely perfect. In some ways it's even faster because the ball can maintain a natural momentum, there's no reason to move it past a certain speed as it flies across the screen.
I've been using that model for a year or two now, I love it
>t. never used a trackball
OwO it goes where?
What's it like to not know the feeling of grasping a smooth lubbed up ball that's going at 100 kilometres per hour and have it firmly stop over the "Submit" this post button? My guess is that it must feel pretty shitty.
Long term trackball use is associated with de quervains
I'm genetically immune to carpal tunnel and like mice, not going to re-train decades of use because some autistic meme.
Mice have better absolute control, balls can slip under your finger.
Are you talking about thumb trackballs? Finger ones shouldn't have any effect on the thumb as it's no used, aside from left button clicking, though that may depend on the model.
How is the middle click?
i bet you know all about balls
I use a Kensington orbit with scroll ring. I like the placement of buttons but want a bigger ball, what should I get? I would have got an elecom huge but I actually have a crooked middle finger bent 45 degrees at the joint so I can't use it's right click correctly.
You configure it to whatever you want
Expert and Slimblade have bigger balls. However L-TRAC trackballs have them the biggest, though they are the most expensive of the bunch.
I bought a trackball because the room I was letting was too small for a decent sized desk, I've moved somewhere bigger but can't give up the trackball, it's just better for general computing. Mouse is probably better for gaming.
Using Kensington's software middle click can be configured for each key separately or as a combination of several. I'm using their scroll ring trackball with only two buttons, so the have configured the middle act as a combination of both. I took some time to get a hang of but after that I can engage the function quite easily. The software isn't available on Linux however.
L-Trac is worth every penny imo. Had mine for 5 years, haven't even had to clean it.
Bullshit.
Using thumbball for like a decade, can confirm constant discomfort in the indicated area. Still better than sudden carpal tunnel pains I had before switching.
Join the fingerball master race, user.
>Bought an Elecom that wasn't the HUGE
>Buttons have been starting to stick
>Need a new trackball already and I've only owned this since Christmas 2017
Thinking about getting a HUGE instead but I'm slightly weary of the brand since this turned out to suck ass. I've had ten dollar Logitech three-button mice with better build quality.
Deft Pro is supposed to be their best mouse technically. What model did you buy? Was it a regular Deft?
I have, it's a pain. Almost as bad as using a laptop touch pad.
Yeah it was a regular Deft. This one: amazon.com
The M2 button likes to stick or come unstuck depending on the planets' alignment, and now the three buttons to the left of the ball (which, admittedly, I never bothered using) are all firmly pressed down. I'm worried about the other buttons having problems next even though they haven't exhibited symptoms. The Deft Pro being twice as much as the regular Deft is either indicative of it being of higher quality, or a trap to get me to spend two times as much on as much of a piece of shit, and I haven't figured out which yet.
