there were about five or six cartoons launched for the moomins that i know about, excluding a marionette feature from about 1959, but starting in 1969 there was a series until the early seventies that i know aired in britain for the moomins as well as a stop motion one some years after that before the 1990s cartoon aired (and of course the ones since then). the 1990s one specifically was produced out of japan but some of the other cartoons were european. of course the books were all finnish as moomins is originally a finnish creation though
