>five days
>for a certificate renewal
Wish you could just go back to the old me, huh?
Five days
just roll your computer's date back by a few days, there fixed bug closed bye
Works fine on my machine
Open the browser console by hitting ctrl-shift-j
Copy and paste the following code, hit enter. Until mozilla fixes the problem you will need to redo this once every 24 hours:
// Re-enable *all* extensions
async function set_addons_as_signed() {
Components.utils.import("resource://gre/modules/addons/XPIDatabase.jsm");
Components.utils.import("resource://gre/modules/AddonManager.jsm");
let addons = await XPIDatabase.getAddonList(a => true);
for (let addon of addons) {
// The add-on might have vanished, we'll catch that on the next startup
if (!addon._sourceBundle.exists())
continue;
if( addon.signedState != AddonManager.SIGNEDSTATE_UNKNOWN )
continue;
addon.signedState = AddonManager.SIGNEDSTATE_NOT_REQUIRED;
AddonManagerPrivate.callAddonListeners("onPropertyChanged",
addon.wrapper,
["signedState"]);
await XPIDatabase.updateAddonDisabledState(addon);
}
XPIDatabase.saveChanges();
}
set_addons_as_signed();
It breaks tons of other stuff though
console browser won't let me paste. wtf is this bullshit.
or just disable addon signature verification in about:config like someone who doesn't have fetal alcohol syndrome
That stopped working for me about 20 minutes ago.
F
Use the studies option and select only the certificate related option. Boom, done. Disable it again when it finishes the update.
I posted as my first post in this thread.
This whole thing has killed any chance Firefox had at regaining market share. Like, this is the beginning of the end for Mozilla. It's absurd how poorly this was handled, any other company on earth would have gone fucking red alert and done anything in their power to fix it.
It's a different approach, but, ok.
Because they think they can shift-blame it on someone else like usual.
I've been browsing for half an hour without extensions and what.the.fuck. I had no idea it was this bad.
>tfw this is how your grandma sees the internet
nah firecucks are used to being fed pure shit
>Faggots, dykes, fake chicks, and pretend men are more important than code.
But at least they are diverse, am I right?
They can't keep getting away with it
There's literally no good browser. The only option is pale meme
>any other company on earth would have gone fucking red alert and done anything in their power to fix it.
That's literally what they did, hence why the problem only lasted for a few hours on the small number of machines where it actually happened.
The sad thing is I'll never really know if you are a human getting paid, or just the newest google ai chatbot. Have a (You) either way.
>hence why the problem only lasted for a few hours on the small number of machines where it actually happened.
>hence why the problem only lasted for a few hours on the small number of machines where it actually happened.
whoops, somehow hit enter too quick.
anyways, mobile is still completely hosed and they have no way to push the fix there. So nope, not solved.
>small number of machines where it actually happened
>it happened to literally every single Firefox installation because it was a cert issue from a Mozilla server
Holy shit I didn't know Mozilla had the money to buy a defense force. How's the dilation going?
>hence why the problem only lasted for a few hours on the small number of machines where it actually happened.
How much is the starting rate at mozillashill? This is absolutely NOT a small number of machines, its a colossal fuckup that affects literally every user, and should have been fixed within the hour, let alone the day.
>It worked
Holy shit, thank you.
>mobile is still completely hosed
I've been following this shit last night on Firefox on my phone with all addons working fine. I disabled the xpi.install thing just in case. Don't know if that did anything, but it's still working fine.
The problem did hit me this morning on my PC with a heavily customized Nightly that had normandy disabled, but I just disabled the same option on it and all my addons came back instantly. Then I simply installed the hotfix and everything is back the way it was.
All in all, a very minor inconvenience, only on my browser where things breaking occasionally is expected.
>tl;dr: works on my machine
I imagine Chomecucks like these:
would call you a shill also, but I believe you user
I'm literally using Firefox with no add-ons over switching, but try again. This is unacceptable, but fuck chrome. You can't cover this up though.
How do I remove this after Memezilla fixes their shit?
Which ones? WFM here.
that was me an hour ago. it's fucked now
I switched to Waterfox but the addons I imported flat out do not work.
Computer illiterate retard here. Should I just wait this out for now and not visit any sketchy websites/only visit normie shit like YouTube? Will it autoupdate and fix this shit or am I going to have to not be a lazy fatass and actively do something about it?
Because if I have to actually put effort in, I'm just going to switch browsers altogether. I don't want to deal with retarded shit like this again.
Go to about:config, set xpinstall.signatures.required to false, "feature" in now fixed. Be sure to read the built-in help next time !
Still doesn't work
Nope. Old firefox was shit.
C'mon guys. I've used FF since before Chrome existed and even I can admit this a pretty bad fuck up.
Using the internet without add-ons
>ads everywhere
>websites start playing audio without permission
>pop-overs everywhere
jesus this really took the last little bit of fondness I had for the internet away. big realization that the only reason it's even remotely enjoyable is because i've done everything in my power to get rid of as much of the gay shit as possible
>about:config
>devtools.chrome.enabled=true
you should now be able to use the code in the console
ESR52 just werks
Can confirm this fixes issue for Fennec on Android. Thanks user.
Works like a charm. Thanks!
Wow guys, I don't think Brave has this problem.Maybe we should all wave Firefox goodbye and switch to brave right fellow 4channelers haha
preferences: (enable) allow firefox to install and run studies, let that run for a few minutes until your extensions are fixed, then you can disable it again
>allow firefox to install and run studies
how about no
Every time I try clicking this FF keeps popping in to say it prevented installation on my computer. wtf
This works!
Try Anki for starters
because its malware
This worked for me as well. Bless you sir, have a loli.
R U FUCKING SRS NIGGA ?
FUCKING KYS. K. Y. S.
TWICE, TO MAKE SURE
based
worked, is it throwing errors because of it normal?
Lol what it's STILL fucked on my pc. Over 24 hours now.
>i can't follow simple instructions and it's mozilla's fault
blog.mozilla.org
>takes hours for the study to appear
>even then you'll be giving all your private data to Mozilla
not an option
I'm done with Firefox after this, is there any other browser just as good for Windows?
Pale Moon
>Not using Sleipnir, like all weebs and non-dilaters should
>Jap Developed
>Doesn't need fixing
>Tab grouping, mouse gestures, and built-in user script support
yes good goy give mozilla backdoor access to your pc only then will your extensions will be fixed :^)
For those interested:
>Right click->save the link
>Drag the XPI
>Restart Firefox
>Done
It works. I wish every alternative to Firefox didn't suck even more than Firefox does now.
I also have Palemoon on my PC so this isn't a huge problem there, but what's a good alternative for mobile, even if I was able to fix the issue I might abandon Firefox at this point.
"We’ll continue to provide updates on continued efforts on this post, and will share a more substantial update in the coming days.."
>coming days
So they centralize the addon system because apparently noone else can be trusted and then fuck it up themselves. That would be hilarious if it wasn't so retarded.
it fixed the addons but my theme is gone
