>inb4 fuck off No, not games only. Anything that can be done on a computer in a competitive or collaborative way.

8 hour argument over which lan topology and protocol to use.

Cutest programming socks competition!

competitive LAN shitposting

anything will be fun but it will be pretty hard to sit through

It probably wouldn't take 8 hours before it had to be called off because people had to be hospitalized after punching each other over accusations of being polshitters/sjw cucks.

Imagine the smell

Oh boy, do I love my collisions!

Were LAN parties as great as these rose tinted goggles makes them out to be?
It seems like they were an in-person internet with gaming, files sharing, raves, endless mountain dew and red bull, etc..

you actually find that insult thrown around less in real life because it makes the user look like a massive shut-in retard

Nah, they weren't all that good. I did have a good taste of eternal LAN party myself. I've had two older brothers, so back in 2007 we used to play Warcraft III on our shitty post-leasing Windows XP computers. We had no internet til 2008, so all we did was play this fucking game on LAN.

we all play some good old cs 1.6 then the one retard that knows how to gstrafe stomps everyone

the Tanner boys' lan parties were based

We could play some Quake III Arena

set up a ctf tournament.

We had LAN tournaments with "fuck you" as a prize for the first place. All via LAN. We had this one central switch in the room, and the connection was rather mediocre because those fuckers cut the costs whenever it was possible. But it was, to say the least.

you grew up on lennon rd?

Nah, just that we had those at my high school, but boy were they taxing. You had to explicitly come after school, and people were leaving at like 6PM or so, if not later. Depends on how long the thing lasted. Stuff like Unreal Tournament, Quake III Arena, Starcraft and others. You can guess how fucking hard it was to organize them given the state of computers there.

put on furry costumes and wank each other off
