Whenever I open a new file explorer window it flashes bright white for a second, it's terrible. Fuck Microsoft.

Seems due to a work culture centered around short-term business goals and the complete disinterest from the part of lower and middle management, development teams and QA to advance and then support any incremental improvements by people from other departments. So, Windows has turned into a cobbled-together pile of one legacy framework and design pattern onto another.

It's interesting to see whether the same will happen with their Azure infrastructure once cloud computing finally drops out from the hype spotlight. Will that too become a steaming pile of nearly incompatible components?

Those IRC chats logs of the ex windows dev ranting (you know the ones) convinced me that Windows is a frankenstein OS that only persists through its own inertia and years of MS brute forcing functionality because they have no other option.

This dev was a contractor that worked on power bi and never touched winmain.

Legacy code is being pulled from modern all the time. Some aspects have daily flights, and dogfood in winmain or WDG is updated sometimes weekly.

Wouldn't sell. The only thing keeping me with Windows (as well as a lot of other people) is support for Win32 programs. Without that, it'd be useless. People need their Adobe programs, Office programs, gayms, and obscure software from the 90s/2000s that aren't going to get ported over to anything because the creator could be dead for all we know.

Apple is completely dropping support in their OS this year, Microwang will definitely do the same maybe not this year but in 2020.

Adobe and major applications will port over if they're forced to. They have the laziest brown street shitter programmers in the world, but if the higher ups whip them, they will have to follow.
