Why 1080 when you can get amazon fire tv for 250 thats 4k and actually good af

not the op but I just got a 1080 tv because I don't care about the new content coming out in 4k, I also rarely game but 4k is still at a stage were is mostly a liability rather than a feature, maybe in 10 years when my current TV shits the bed and 4 or 8k becomes truly a standard then I will switch to that

Dumb retard.

Get 4K modern 50inch.

So you literally had no good reason to buy 1080p, but you did anyway.

I'm not trying to shill my employer of Target but why the H*ck would you get an Insignia TV when you can get a reputable one within the $300 budget

Most people do not have fast enough internet to stream or download 4k. Average internet speed is 10 MBIT/s. Not even fast enough for full bitrate 1080p

exactly, but I didn't saw any 720 and 480 doesn't exist anymore, shit I didn't even want a smart tv but they all are shoving this shit down our throats, my point is 1080 is mainstream, 4k is still a meme and probably soon to be replaced by 8k

This. 4K is the new 720p. Japan already selling 8K.

>1080p is mainstream
Only in monitors
Almost every new TV above 40" now is 4K
4K has been the mainstream for years now

Nigga there's like a 4k 50" for $300. Why get a 1080p in this year, where most phones are at least 1400p.

i wish there was a 1080p oled tv 40"-45"

You could get a Plasma

No, you don't.

its a television for movies and tv series so i don't expect it to ever be a real problem with my use case although MLED is our only hope desu

If you look close at that burn-in, you can see the LG logo that shows up when you turn the TV on.

I got pick related for ~270 instore. I just don't connect it to my wifi to ward off the Amazon botnet.

There is no LG logo that shows up when you turn the TV on.

Incorrect.

Issue with cheap ones is that they're not that bright, got some very cheap non-smart 43" 1080p LG, nothing wrong with it but relatively weak backlight despite being direct led.

Don't listen to retarded niggers here, brightest and contrast difference between models can be much more impacting than 1080vs4K one.

Not if you look top 100 weekly torrents. 4K rips are rare and not that popular.

In what shithole is it 10mbps? At my ISP the cheapest option offers 150/5 and it's not even fiber.

This is the kind of reasoning that gets you a pointless feature you won't ever utilize because you can't

What the fuck is the point of streaming 4k when the bitrate is the same.

Why would you buy a 1080p tv?

That's because internet speeds are still slow as balls and no one wants to download a 40-80GB torrent for one movie.

Just buy a $27 dell monitor and attach a Chromecast to it

>buying a new electric jew

Actually the real reason you don't see a whole lot of 4k is because almost all 4k sources are HDR
Most people who torrent are usually on a PC and the vast majority of those people cannot view HDR content
