this, LITERALLY not a single person will use it
m$ is more than welcome to waste their funds though

>rebranded chrome is coming to Linux
wow, as if there isn't enough chrome skins.

Yeah why the fuck would you bother with installing Linux, when Windows is going to come bundled with a full linux kernel for development use away?

>another closed source chrome reskin

>still no onedrive on linux

Reminder: MS still has not even managed to get their chrome fork to run properly on win7.

Jow Forumseezers missing the point here, a UWP application is being ported to Linux and replaced on Windows as a standard program. Hopefully this means the modern shit Windows 10 is smothered in will now be removed to retake the professional/developer market.

All that consumer bullshit will be moved to Windows Lite to make a brand new OS for normies, like it always should have been!

EMBRACE
EXTEND
EXTINGUISH

If anyone's coping it's you - MS just obliterated any chance of the Linux desktop ever catching on because no one except the spergs here give a shit about muh botnet

yikes

The new edge is not an UWP application.

torvalds should be locked up in prison, he made a fucking kernel yet keeps telling all the normies that he created an entire OS, what a scammer

>Implying Linux in of itself does fuck all to free you
If you're connecting to the Internet then you'll never have true "freedom" by the FSF definition, Linux's only reasonable use is for development (If you absolutely must develop shit like it's 1978) and now you can do that on Windows.

>If you're connecting to the Internet then you'll never have true "freedom" by the FSF definition
incorrect, you can't just state your opinion as fact

I know, I said it was being ported and replaced as a standard program. It's Microsoft starting to give up on pushing their "app" framework on professionals/prosumers.

>chrome skin #16515 coming to linux
yawn

cygwin, Windows subsystem for unix and VMs have existed for decades.

You don't control all the nodes your data is being transported through, more importantly, at least one of those will be a Windows Server and therefore will be handled by a piece of software that will not grant you "Freedom 1".

that's not what freedom 1 means, watch some stallman interviews, winjeet

As has Linux's non-existent desktop market share
This more native integration just solidified it

>This more native integration just solidified it
Nobody cares what you stick to the side of your titanic, it will sink anyway.

>running actual GNU/Linux when Microsoft's about to release WSL2 for Win10
No

The ability to study what the program does? If you're connected to a Windows Server, you don't know if any of that information is being sent to Microsoft.

Realistically even if you're connected to FOSS server, you still won't know what modifications have been done to it, because it's not expected that they specify any modifications and/or provide the source code for their servers.

but you are not using that program yourself, it is just being used to transfer your data(which you should have encrypted). just like how you don't have to reject output made from non-free software, since you didn't use the actual non-free software yourself

They'll only extend it by replacing the Google shit with Microsoft shit.

But we are using server software ourselves to communicate right now, just because we let our OS handle networking for us doesn't mean we're not users of the servers it connects to.

BTFO

by that logic you can extend it to claim that you are using everything in the world. aren't we using nonfree software when watching tv because it was used to broadcast it? aren't we using nonfree software when we hear music played on loudspeakers outside? the answer is no

>Where is your god now?
I think he is currently working on bundling systemd to come with edge browser

Not my logic, the logic of the free software movement. If anything requires your personal input (whether actively or passively) to provide an output and you don't have access to the source code that provides the output to audit yourself, then surely you cannot be "free".

This is why free software as a movement is retarded, Open Source software is a good idea though.

Sure thing kiddo. Microsoft is gonna go under any minute. Any minute now. Oh and I'm sure it's also the year of the Linux desktop™

you have no idea what you're talking about, you are arguing about things you made up in your head instead of actual facts, read up before attempting to discuss things you don't understand

So servers don't have clients?

Not MS, but Winshit sure has been going downhill lately

Isn't that just because the consumer (read: "normies" in Jow Forumsspeak) market relies more on their phones and tablets over a PC?

It's because the "cloud" is getting more important than what kind of local computer you're using.

>extinguish a decentralized open source platform

>clickbait
chemo yourself

Attached: 1550311142747.jpg (500x488, 76K)

They talked about it when Windows 10 mobile failed. Now they have an useless OS that runs their cloud services that brings in their money. That's why they don't have onedrive or office for Linux. Windows will be a Linux distro for normies filled with their spyware.

If Microsoft brings Edge to Linux before Epic Games brings their launcher with UE4 binaries to Linux, I am going to freak out.

epic isn't bringing shit to us idiot, do you live under a rock? they even bought games that currently have gnu/linux builds such as rocket league and will transfer them to their own store where there will be no more supported builds

About that...

COMING AGAIN TO SAVE THE MOTHERFUCKING DAY, YEAH!

AMERICA!

>decentralized
Imagine being this delusional. Do you even know who the main contributors to Linux are?

I just feel bewildered that a company that doesn't compete with Linux and made games for it in the past (UT2004) would be less friendly towards Linux than an OS developer that actually competes with it.

Epic completely abandoned PC to focus on consoles for a good while, Tim has zero sense and talks out of his ass all the time.

I still using firefox too on linux. I think people overreacted a bit with the addon stuff. Love my addons too but still. One glitch isn't making me want to switch the Chrome type stuff. Maybe a fork if it comes to that but for now things are fine. I don't want there to be a monopoly again.

God fuck epic (ea 2) games. What a shit stain on my state (North Carolina)

No one is friendly. It's just virtue signaling and 4D chess.

>still no onedrive on linux
Lies.
