Their charter constantly changes inline with what's hot/new/a big deal. When fear/doom/gloom was at max they had a charter that stated they sought to promote openness in AI and publish everything. As time went on this gradually changed to their currently bullshit charter which now stretches across a private profit based company and their fallback non-profit. At this point, it should be clear that the odds of any such groups producing something like AGI is slim to none. They are more consumed with bullshitting people than actual research.
