is rgb worth the extra money? also if I'm buying a keyboard but will use a separate keycap set is there any difference between the majority of keyboards? assuming same switches

Watch out when buying separate keycaps for prebuilt boards, some use non-standard layouts.
Now most higher-end keysets will come with extra caps for compatibility, but it's just something to watch out for.
