how long does xiaomi update their shit? if i buy a mi 9 or redmi note 7, how long until it's obsolete?

>redmi note 7 and pocophone don't have NFC
rip

God why is the A70 so fucking big, I'd buy it in an instant if it wasn't made for fucking giants.

Around three years of updates. Updates stopping doesn't mean it becomes obsolete though since Xiaomi phones generally have great custom ROM support.

>tfw pixel 3a cost a £400 but my spending limit on phones is £250
damn, i really want the pixel 3a.
Is there any good non chink phones in this price range or should just wait for a discount.
inb4 stop being a poorfag

just buy chinkshit

Out of the samsung galaxies S6, 7, 8, 9 is one considered to be generally better than the others or has each new generation been a slight improvement?

3-4 years, depending on the model, but can be less for their cheapest models (usually those with the mediatek chipsets). With Redmi splitting off parts of their development from Xiaomi, things might change for models like the RN7, but I don't think their update policy will differ much from Xiaomi.
I remember S7 was much better than the S6 and then S8 and onwards were incremental upgrades with design changes.

I need a new phone, I was comparing some Huawei but they are all so similar to each other, I have no idea what to choose.

I was looking at the Huawei p and mate series, any major difference between the two?
Also not sure if I should save my money and get a lite version or if standard / pro is worth the higher price.

My main focus is battery life, I also don't want to do a downgrade, camera and performance shouldn't be worse than my S7 I currently use.
Can anyone help?

Hello, /spg/. Could you please recommend a low-cost smartphone which falls into the 80-150 $ range? Or would I have more luck in Chink Shit General?

If you're poor you buy chinkshit

Which country / carrier?

should buy the pixel 2
it's around my price

I don't even know what anime she's from but she's cute enough.
OP7P phone of the year by the way. (Unless the note10 somehow has insane new features.)

Attached: 1541257517293.png (1527x2000, 1.78M)

>OP7P phone of the year by the way. (Unless the note10 somehow has insane new features.)
Both will look like shit next to the OP7PT and Mi Mix 4.

OnePlus 7 Pro! It is for you bro!

This
the OnePlus 7T Pro will feature the much coveted 10x zoom lens that will make all the difference.

I'm gonna wait for October, if the Pixel 4 isn't notchshit I'll get it. If gcam on the OP7TP shits on the Pixel I'll get that. Win win either way
who am I kidding I'd never buy anything outside of chinee shit, chinkphones provide the best value all things considered.

I'm about to buy a Redmi Note 7

Someone talk me out of it. Or into it. Also someone posted a link to something that unfucked the software from all it's chink shit in just a couple minutes, anybody got that link again?

I'm actually impressed at the size of the screen for the price. I thought it would be the same specs as the A50 with just the bigger screen.

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 if you don't want to deal with MIUI but want the same specs and a better battery
also Android One

xiaomiwiki.github.io/wiki/Uninstall_system_apps.html

Will I ever get Android Pie on the Zenfone Max Pro M1?
Did I get chinked?

Is it worth upgrading from the Pixel XL or the Pixel 3a or should I wait for the 4a?

Xiaomi are about to release a new flagship next week so might be worth waiting until then to see how much it costs/specs as it will probably be a great phone.

There are also custom ROMs available. Uninstall pre-installed Mi apps and flash a custom ROM after 15 days.

doesn't have the right bands

>also Android One
It isn't

yeah it'll be released, in india, then i'll have to wait a month before it'll be available in america, then another month while i wait for it to ship to america, so we're talking at least 9 weeks out. And it may not even have american bands, like most Xiaomi stuff.

Probably down the line yes, but considering they haven't even dropped Pie for their fucking flagship you're not likely to see it anytime soon.

It's about as big as the pixel 3a and has 0.7" on it. It's not as if it's unmanageable.

Oh well.
At least the phone is perfect for what I'm doing so far.

How's the battery on that thing by the way?

Well xiaomi have moved into EU quite fast so maybe this will get a fast EU release. Never know.

I don't care about the camera

Pretty good. I don't know about other phones nowadays, since my last one was old as fuck, but I use it a lot during the day and when I get home, usually at 10 pm, I still have around 35%.
I can get away with charging it once every one and a half days.

>not owning the latest iPhone
And you consider yourselves techies?

Maki!!!!!!

Huawei Mate 20 lite or Nokia 7 plus - which one would you choose and why?

Attached: Verselő_Lina.png (250x188, 108K)

I'm still receiving updates for my note 4. Battery life is still good after one year.

7plus mainly for android one. 20 lite is a good phone though.

Only waiting for the siiickest iPhone, braaah

Attached: D5J3xUNWsAAN5sE.jpg (2000x1071, 146K)

Nokia 7.1 or wait for MI A3

Nokia but not the 7 plus, something cheaper since they all get monthly security updates
yikes on the Huawei because notch

Redmi Note 7

Brainlet here. Is there any real reason to buy an iPhone other than the pretty design?

The battery on my S7 is pretty much shot, how expensive and/or how much of a pain in the ass is replacing it?

gimme your top 3 android games.

me: skyforce reloaded, downwell, jelly defense.

Attached: 123.jpg (750x1334, 269K)

ios is very polished and easy to use, the screen is also very good. Wouldn't say its worth.

Redmi Note 4X here, battery after 1.5y still as good as new but no more updates (stopped last month)... Still there is very good Custom ROM support

i want to nakadashi maki

I see. I didn't know about the screen. I always heard people talking shit about the pixel density, but that probably doesn't apply to their flagships.

a pixel 2 is probably slow as shit by now

what country are you in?
true, but at least it's stock android

The replacement screen for the note 9 is shipped, now time to wait till chang brings it over the slik road in another fucking month.

Not too much if you DIY.

>battery is 15~30$, depending on maker and or how legit it seems
>double sided tape is 2$ per 50meters
>simple toolset with the prytools and suction cup is 5~10$
>assuming you're a total asshat with two left hands, rear glass replacement starts at 6$

You could order a heat gun, but alternatively use your any home hair dryer if it's a one time thing.

Attached: 5923964.jpg (200x183, 5K)

Longer support (without needing to fuck around with pajeet roms) and better optimized apps

If you jailbreak your phone it's actually pretty good.

UK
£300
Plusnet
Would like something with as pure as possible android

Pie on the Max Pro M1 is chinked, absolutely glitchy as fuck.

Looks ugly as sin, what's with the weirdo design? A shit attempt to stand out, design wise, no matter what?
idk lol

But they'll surely fix it soon, r-right?

>Pixel 3a XL costs as much as the OnePlus 7 Pro in my country
GET FUCKED GOOGLEFAGGGGGGGOTS

Can you do a security update on a rooted android phone? It's a motorola phone and the OTA shows up. Not sure if it'll brick though.
There's no custom ROM installed, just unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP and Magisk.

Nokia 8.1

I'd sooner steal a flagship phone than pay real fucking money for it
it's such a POZZED market.

>current year
>not buying a budget chinkPhone that perfectly suits your needs without being overpriced

going to buy the new pixel and you faggots cant stop me

The fingerprint sensor on my chinkphone doesn't work well anymore, and it's only been 3 years. My old Xperia got thrashed and tossed around by me and it worked absolutely instantaneously with just a tap. With this I have to hard press my finger for a full second or two before it works. Fucking useless, I cleaned it and all but to no avail.

>chinkphone
>3 years
That's pretty good

In my country the OP6T is $100 cheaper than the Pixel 3a and the 3a XL costs $40 less than the OP7P.
WHAT A FUCKING JOKE MOTHERFUCKERS I HOPE THE LINE FAILS
fucking imagine buying a 3a for $580 when a chinee Note 7 Pro for $200 gets the job done with same specs.

>Pixel 3a
>CAMERACAMERACAMERACAMERACAMERACAMERACAMERACAMERACAMERACAMERACAMERACAMERACAMERACAMERACAMERACAMERACAMERACAMERACAMERA
Fucking shills. Its 2019 and the camera isnt that good. There are a lot of phones with better camera AND specs. Google put the same shitty sensor in and the software aint carrying it anymore. Phones with better specs and price for example
>Redmi 7
>Poco with GCAM
>Mix 2S
>Mi 9/SE
Etc

The fact that (((influencers))) suddenly meme about the camera being great for the price is disgusting. Its not great, its mediocre and the phone is overpriced.

Attached: everythimh.jpg (1280x960, 136K)

Are huawei phones gimped without access to bootloader? Is there a hope for my P20 Lite?

I meant 3 months, fuck.
It is truly, astonishingly, HIDEOUSLY overpriced. Looks like a total joke of a release. I hope it fucking bombs.

Battery life the definitely go for something Huawei as they have really made their is efficient for this. I've heard wonders from a friend with the p30 pro. In my opinion spring for the flagship if you can afford it without regrets. You're worth it.

CHINKED

There you go, a sub $400 American full warranty phone that works on all bands/carriers. Unlockable bootloader and big development community. Best camera as well.

You fags wanted a nexus replacement there you go.

Fuck. Why did I trust the chinamen?

>best camera
>gets beaten by 299 chinkshit

the only, and I mean only appeal of chinee phones are unlocked bootloaders and good specs for the price
everything else is fucking shit.

Yeah keep telling people your james donkey69 have better camera than the pixel

>pixel 3 sells like shit
>google pushes out a model that STILL has 4GB of RAM for $400
I really hope they're not expecting this to suddenly turn around their hardware sales. $400 is still too much for this.

Yep, better sensors and all.

Using one now and I love it. Feels like a flagship. Acts like a mid tier. Cleaning up the ads from miui was annoying but it was not difficult. Super aesthetic. Love the glass back even though it's not practical. Love the camera with gcam installed even night sight works. Selfie cam is okay but I don't use it anyway. All in all worth the wait and the price. 188 on Ali 4/64 blue. 22 days shipped to burger land.

>$400
>still only 4GB RAM
>shitty processor that's in $200 chink phones

yeah i'll wait for it to go on sale in a few weeks when nobody buys that overpriced piece of garbage

software is ass though, even gcam won't elevate it magically
Pixel cameras take far better details

>Even gcam won't elevate it magically
It does though. Sure it doesnt have dedicated chip like Pixel 3 but neither does 3a. Moreover 670 will be objectively worse at post processing than 845s or 855s which go for 399.

Thanks to the worse soc and camera something like Mix 2S will blow it out the ass with GCAM. Software only does so much

Attached: 1451473419228.gif (320x320, 2.46M)

how's the camera on the redmeme 7?

lol fuck, that sounds truly pozzed
guess I'll man up and get a giantphone from OnePlus. It's a real shame since I like 5.5"~ phones but the specs on the Pixel 3 are so shit.

most stores are selling it with a $100 gift card included

not bad for $299- pixel 3 camera with 3 years of updates

How many months or week should I wait until the pixel 3a gets discounts?
I'm eyeing it but the asking price is no.

link to $100 gift card please

bestbuy.com/site/google/google-pixel-3/pcmcat1537476543972.c?id=pcmcat1537476543972

Alright thanks, I'll check if I can just pay someone to do it first, if it's unreasonable I'll DIY

all right Jow Forumsentlemen, i need to get a new phone. my samsung note 5's battery is starting to go to shit.
new phone needs to have:
>SD card capability, i don't want to be cucked on storage
>decent screen for shitposting/watching porn
>headphone jack
>custom ROMs available
>easy to root

for reference, i live in burgerland and i plan on using whatever carrier has the best 4g coverage

I found some non Chinese phones(asus is taiwan which is not china)
They are in my price range
Which one should I get the Nokia or asus or samsung?

Attached: D26Ix_kUcAAecM2.jpg (700x932, 76K)

Pixel 3a Vs mi9se Vs p30

Mi9se looks like best choice, no jack tho. P30 locked bootloader, fucking expensive. Pixel has shitty soc

I don't want to be a slave anymore. I want my freedom back. I'm American, I live in the USA god dammit.

I want a phone that's not going to cuck me if it gets wet, so I finally want a waterproof phone. I've never had a non-waterproof phone die on me but I don't like having to be my phone's caretaker if it's crazy wet out, or generally be afraid around water anymore.

I was interested in the Moto G phones but they're only "water resistant" and have no IP ratings. What's a good, affordable, smartphone nowadays that's waterproof and has nice specs.

I'm looking for just about $200 or under.
I also require it to have an official way to unlock the bootloader and want custom ROMs available.

Shill out more for Mi 9. You will save the extra in the long run

>Pixel 3a XL is $379 here in the US
Should I bite the bullet on it or wait for the Z4 Play?
