Because I'm using qutebrowser

thanks for your passwords

BECAUSE I THINK IT SUCKS

Attached: 1537832642520.jpg (1280x720, 175K)

extensions suck shit to install, like the whole link thing is just tedious.

>Ungoogled Googlium
I prefer Unyandexed Yandexium or UnDuckDuckGoed DuckDuckGoium

cant find it in my appstore so no thanks

This. Having to manually fuck around installing extensions and whatever is just too much of a pain in the ass. Furrycux allows just as much privacy autism whilst keeping much of its convenience.

this
I cant believe theres isnt an extension to solve this problem
also it fails to load unpacked extensions so its impossible to use them most of the time

crx4chrome.com/

Google CDN

And if you're really lazy use the website and then install chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/get-crx/dijpllakibenlejkbajahncialkbdkjc

>Why aren't you using ungoogled-chromium RIGHT NOW?!
Because user, i am using Iridium. Its the better Chrome alternative.

But i am?

I don't use any software that regularly gets bundled with garbage.

I am. It's the best.
Make sure to enable canvas fingerprint deception flags. :^)
>make a simple webpage with crx links
>one click to update
>this is too much work for Jow Forums
>mfw

You guys are fucking dumb

kys

What are the real diffs between ungoogled and iridium?

ungoogled is less updated, have to use crx to install extensions but iridium still pings to google while ungoogled doesn't.

>iridium still pings to google
What's the fucking point then?

I'm not going to inspect hundreds of thousands of lines of code.

How do you know they are more trustworthy than google?

For the umpteenth time

By using anything chromium, including the ungoogled you're essentially supporting google's domination/monoculture

You don't give a shit about that? fine, keep using it then.

This.
Too many good to decent competitor browsers either died or turned into Chrome clones.

Firefox is an all around better browser

get a load of this guy

because google is best

Attached: aqua.jpg (600x337, 42K)

Because I'm a filthy phone poster

because surf is a better browser

firefox for android with addons
firefox desktop with addons
(sync optional, I tried it and found that I dont need it)

I dont see a reason to use google's stuff.
I have used other browsers but they lag heavy GUI and lack features that firefox has.

Tell me what chrome has?
Remote desktop addon, faster first load on google websites.
Anyone got more?

I use Iridium for my hand-me-down laptop (I cannot wait to get the money for a desktop) and Bromite on my Android phone.

I briefly tried out Ungoogled Chromium but I could not get anything to work since it kept blocking everything. I also briefly tried out the Brave Browser before trying Iridium and decided Iridium is better after installing a couple of extensions.

>he didn't see the word 'ungoogled'

DRM, no ability to disable WebGL fingerprinting.

Perfect for Netflix and Amazon.

dunno how to compile for windows the last version

How do you update extensions?

chromium in general sucks for linux
the touchpad smoothing is awful and theres a 5px border around the window for no reason unless youre in fullscreen mode and if youre in full screen mode the corner pixels are transparent and if you go to the corner and click it takes you to the background application

It by default you can turn it off in the settings. Ungoogled just pings to amazon, I think.

that has not been my experience.

Chromium is way "smoother" than firefox as I scroll down pages. Besides, with firefox I have to solve like 20 captchas before posting here

>2019 A.D.
>not using Icecat

Attached: icecat.png (650x650, 177K)

Does linux have a way to watch 1080p+ netflix?
Android netflix app.
Windows netflix app. Not great UI.

How about drm for amazon on linux?

WebGL is not that unique.
panopticlick.eff.org/

You go to your addons. You should see visual cues if updates are available. You can also check addons.mozilla.com or google's addon store for chromium.
Update your web browser.

Yes on android I use firefox focus. I open it from firefox for android's share menu when needed.
I got 2.45ghz arm cpu. Snapdragon 801. I dont know why newer phones lag less on chrome. You got 600 series snapdragon?

I don't trust it still. you think I'm going to read through the entire codebase? you think anyone has?

Because I'm a brainlet.

mods please ban this shill

There is no such think as 'ungoogled' chromium. Every browser that is Blink-based is inherently compromised from the start and should be avoided if you care about privacy or security.

What does crx4chrome exactly offer which is different from chrome store? They don't have an 'about' page.

You won't get an answer here. Because they can't.

I don't have any border you retard.

>dragging and dropping folders is hard
are you fuckers for real?

Why is this shit 654 mb on aur?

traffic analysis and grepping domains and IP addresses in the source code

>not even patching and recompiling can get rid of the botnet
?

What does it offer that makes you recommend it over Ungoogled Chromium?
I've been looking for a substitute for Nightly and just set up Ungoogled

Because Google Chrome is the best option (with firefox nightly as an alternative), unless you are an ignorant, turbocoping techlet

Because I have different preferences than you

not sure where this webpage is

I had to change the version in the url and the extension id providing i go to the extension store and find the id, then I have to download it and install it in the extensions page.
this itself isnt difficult, it's just not as simple as it should be.

see I still use ungoogled chromium, I just wanted to take a moment out of my day to bitch and whine about it.

the state of Jow Forums

>t. retard without reading comprehension

Install w3m

because it's "developed" by nsa spy

... I made it. Click the link, extension has been added, bada bing bada boom...
They made it the way they did for a reason, being a privacy-focused browser and all...

Attached: 1550515897015.jpg (340x180, 9K)

provide the identity of developer

provide proof it does anything nefarious

Attached: 1533435859466.jpg (639x749, 107K)

no, it's enough tho prove there is no chain of trust

it's literally not...

yes it is

how does knowing someone's """name""" help you trust their product better...

Attached: 1540878334356.jpg (400x399, 28K)

Because my firefucks unbroke

not name but the whole identity, who develops it, who's behind it.

if you don't know why it's important you're an idiot not fit for Jow Forums, Jow Forums let alone for any talk about security.
you can point your system to obscure nsa servers in mogadishu run by trust_me_anons_123 and proxy your bank transactions through trusted_not_nsa_proxy.com but you can't really shill it here.

if you made a chromium fork with all the google shit stripped out of it, would *you* want google to know who you were? they're obviously not an idiot, so if anything it makes me trust it more

so unless you can prove there's something hinky going on under the hood, it really doesn't fucking matter

brave and vivaldi strip "google shit" it is perfectly legal no one will murder you for forking chromium don't grasp at straws

>jew and chink botnets
wow
great examples
totally the same thing

right, public companies that are legally accountable are chinese botnets and your anonymous shit is legit

Attached: 2342342347.jpg (640x426, 40K)

Not him but it's just the sane version of Firefox. No marketing BS, no unsolicited connections, all the branding is also free, etc. The only thing is it's not as easy to install on anything that isn't Fedora or a FSF certified distro in my experience.

Attached: bocc_stronk.png (378x508, 95K)

It's not a botnet.
/thread

Tried it and you still can't download alt-right addons like user agent switcher.

legally accountable for what? just because what they do is "legal" doesn't make it all fine and dandy to the average user privacy-wise...
also, in the case of fuckers like google and company, 'legally accountable' don't mean shit when all they do is slap your multi-buhjillion dollar corporation with a little pittence of a fine and wag their finger at you

So edge?

when you talk about man in the middle, it's not even about the privacy, it's the domain of SECURITY.
sure your provider, dns server or proxy can spy you. do they? probably.
but they may not steal your money or blackmail you using your porn browsing habits. because the owner or the company's legal representative would GO TO JAIL. that's called legal accountability.
browser is the same, another man in the middle. you can't really trust random anonymous junk from internet just because it says it preserves your privacy.

privacy, security, same difference basically as in "i don't want these grubby fucks to get ahold of my data"
>you can't really trust random anonymous junk from internet just because it says it preserves your privacy
so, once again, prove that it doesn't
pretty much every other browser out there has plenty of evidence and proof suggesting otherwise, you don't see anyone giving ungoogled chromium shit on that front
rly gibs u the big thonk dunnit

Attached: 1531072944708.jpg (400x400, 118K)

I can't find any adblockers that work with it. Firefox is sufficient for my needs.

are you fucking serious...

Attached: 1542783309614.png (326x359, 42K)

Because not having Google apis is annoying I'd rather stick to ff

because its always fucking a million versions behind the latest chromium update on windows

tried to install it with guix, but something went wrong and it locked up my computer.
trying again, but i'm kinda happy with firefox and containers/different profiles.

>What is fingerprinting
>What are session cookies

By using something non standard like ungoogled (and its easy af to detect with just JS) you instantly allow everyone, not only Google, to follow you.

Why do you think browsers like Brave can profitably exist. It takes one botnet and by changing something (regardless whether it theoretically increases privacy or not) it will lower your overall privacy significantly.

Tldr either use Tor or configure stock Firefox to behave like Tor. Anything else does not provide privacy.

because i'm using something better

Attached: fourseven.png (1089x714, 69K)

Because I'm already using Chrome
