Is everyone who still cries about instability just a brainlet? You have to actually TRY to break Arch to get it to break.

Arch has only broken once for me in at least 4 years, and that was entirely my fault.

YOU HAVE NO FUCKING RIGHT TO EXIST
DISGUSTING PEDO SCUM

Sounds kind of boring tbqh, famster.

stop posting loli porn
MODS!!!

Careful user,
you'll get ban, this is a blue board.

And yeah, i3 is amazing, even if you are a pedo scum.

But have you updated it?

I update it every day.

This is the FBI, you are under arrest sir!

Why yes, I do play Kancolle, how could you tell?
Yes my friend, Arch is only as stable as its users.

where did you find this image of my wife?

You're right but kancolle is shit.

I am never advertising on this website ever again, you fucking pede

Back to your containment site you go, newfriends.

Arch + i3 is so cute

We should make a cunny distro.
Like Tails but without all the useless debugging tools and with pink riced desktop and cute background.

Arch usually doesn't break without it being the user's fault (it can but I really doubt it's the majority of the cases)
The problem with Arch is it attracts brainlets who think using a certain distro makes you smarter. I can guarantee if Ubuntu had the same "leet computer expert distro" cred as Arch people would complain about it breaking all the time as well.

Silly user, you don't need Tails for loli.

Just one more reason why it's superior to underage 3dpd.

fucking pedo

more cunny

I've tried to install a game from GOG on arch and it didn't work, so I went back to Ubuntu.

works on my machine

I look forward to they day we can begin throwing people like you off building tops

Imagine being this retarded

Pardon me. Why did I make this post? I guess I just accidentally samefagged. I suck cocks btw.

>using i3

I thought the same thing until it actually did break during a normal update.
Switched to Gentoo after that and never looked back.

Goddamn I want to worship those f*et until I die.

all it took is the one time it breaks when I had work to do, and I dumped it and never used it again. If it works for you, then use it, I really don't give a shit. I still recommend Arch to my friends that are less savvy, but I'd never recommend it to anyone that uses the computer for work.

Moralfaggotry is 200% Reddit.

The thing about Arch is, Jow Forums will just continue to regurgitate the same tired parroted information that was true at one time but hasn't been for years. Pacman breaking shit, AUR breaking shit, pacnew being fucked up and important config files being overwritten, etc. That shit totally DID happen once upon a time. Now, if Pacman or AUR breaks something, it's user error 99% of the time and the other 1% of the time it's user error AND not reading documentation. The other issues haven't been issues for years.

That doesn't excuse your pedoscummery though. Neck yourself, kidtoucher.

Jesus Christ. Is it summer already? How did we completely skip spring That's the only explanation for all this /b/ tier gay ficus; kids

It's people who tried it before there was an experimental repository, or they accidentally enabled it.

You haven't ran pacman -Syu in months user

Issues pop up when you don't update often enough not the other way around

ew pedophaggot get out of here with your tism

Arch has never broken for me in 11 years, unless I actually did something dumb and broke it myself. And the fix was always one ddg search away.

I have tried all the other distros out there, the convenience and huge selection of packages in AUR simply cannot be beaten. It is the killer feature of Arch.

There is nothing inherently unstable about Arch on the desktop. In fact, it often gets bug fixes faster, because the package maintainers of "stable" distros don't care about backporting fixes to desktop packages.

"Stable" distros make most sense on the server, where you don't want your applications to break after updates due to broken dependencies. The "stable" stands for backwards binary compatibility, not software stability.

In the past decade it has become increasingly rare for most Arch users to have an update break something; of course this depends on what kind of software you use, naturally if you use newer and less stable software you'll likely run into an update that breaks something. If you just browse the internet, listen to music, watch anime and shitpost, you'll probably never run into an issue unless a major change happens on the system level.
Your didn't have to reconfigure anything when the systemd switch happened? Somehow I find this hard to believe.

i installed antergos a few days ago, i kept getting black flashes from time to time and the terminal would glitch a little every time I opened or closed it

my dick bigg

this, I've been on Arch for 7 years

I hope you mean -Syyu

What's the difference?

It's in the manpage, -yy forces it to download the repo.db even if it's already up to date. I don't know why you'd use it desu, I've never once used it since 2009 and have never had a problem. (That wasn't clearly spelled out on their news feed.)

Ive had arch with i3 for 4 days and i can do everything i did on windows

Cute and funny!

The memes used to be 100% true up through about early 2012. Arch had no package signing, no QA, blindly overwrote your config files, and made no attempt to keep your kernel, X server, and graphics drivers in sync with each other, back when a LOT more people were using nvidia or fglrx binary drivers.

Nowadays I run Arch with Sway+wlroots rebuilt about once a day from git master on an all-AMD build and nothing breaks. It's come a long way.

learn why it happens, fix it and it will never happen again?
except if it's a kernel panic of some sort it happened because something was misconfigured and not because of i3 lol

Should i get a background picture on i3 or is that too much bloat
Currently using default black solid color

It's bloat.

Normalfags don't know/use the word cunny

Thanks. The teŕry davis pill is the best

How and where do you learn how to install Arch? There are plenty of websites that tell you what to type but I want to know exactly what I'm doing each step. Please help anons

Attached: G8z4JgSF_400x400.jpg (358x358, 34K)

The arch wiki and click every link for every step you want explained. If there isn't a link then google what it means. For example the arch wiki says to partition the drives. It doesn't have a page explaining what partitioning is so google that yourself. If you want to know what every command is doing then type "man command" and it will explain what the command does.

Thanks man

When you get to networking at the end, just type ip addr show, and type "sudo systemctl enable dhcpcd@(your network)" example: dhcpcd@ens6s4

You only need to enable dhcpcd.

I read through the wiki and cross referenced Luke Smith's video while I was actually installing and everything turned out seeming fine for me

Installed Arch with Plasma two months ago and had my first major break today: system settings crash upon open as does the logout manager. Have to shutdown -h now. Not sure where to follow bug reports

i3 is awful.
BSPWM or AwesomeWM are good.

Attached: Chris_warai.jpg (740x864, 79K)

I wouldn't call 2D lolis pedo... but then again I like 2d Loli.

Attached: file.png (1920x1080, 409K)

how does bspwm compare to dwm? is it more lightweight?

Attached: E342CF7CD8AC48DA855652C8F9955270.jpg (425x572, 97K)

There isn't much other there more light-weight than dwm.
Personally, I don't use dwm because I tweak my config a lot, and also I don't want to maintain patches from suckless.org up-to-date, especially when xmonad exists.

I use BSPWM because it just works. It doesn't even monitor keystrokes, instead a program dedicated to hotkeys exists (and can be used outside of BSPWM) and it simply passes terminal commands to a socket in order to move your BSPWM windows.

Use the installation guide on the wiki, look up, for instance, the partitioning page or boot process pages on said wiki and read through them.

Arch breaking every two days is a shit meme pushed by retards who can't be bothered to read the wiki or check for manual intervention for updates and then proceed to destroy their install with their incompetence. Arch is a stable distro for anyone willing to use a bit a their brain and dedicate a few minutes per week to it.

Open /etc/fstab and unfuck it

Ever since I installed Arch I have been checking the homepage for posts about manual intervention, there hasn't even been one new one.

Why is arch associated with pedos or lolicons?
