Pure bliss. I cut the cords to facebook, twitter, instagram, all that bullshit about seven years ago. I do not miss the drama at all.

A peaceful life where you do what you want to do, not because you see other people pretending to enjoy it.

While I appreciate and agree with your comments considering the only social media I'm still using are Jow Forums, lurking the occasional subreddit and being subscribed to a handful of YouTube channels, I was asking more about people's comfy experiences with the BB Q10.

It's an outdated proprietary device and will likely be first against the wall when the NSA comes.
I guess it's better than using Android though.

Why Q10 and not Classic? The trackpad is nice for the screen not getting dirty when browsing text and office files.

I have a BB Classic. Whatsapp and Kakaotalk don't work on it anymore so now forced to just use it for RSS feeds, reading books and playing games. They keys are good enough for gaming that I've played through dozens of games with it.

Smaller size, replaceable battery and AMOLED screen. Trackball and battery size made the classic brrretty tempting though, it's for sure a tough call.

I guess you're righ. Sucks custom BBOS-based ROMs never became a thing. As it stands, though, I'm keeping all questionable activity on my desktop which is security- and privacy-configured, so I'd mainly like to know about the 10 series' user experience.

Oh and thanks for commenting about your experience with the classic. Sounds like exactly the kind of device I'm looking for.

god i miss this little shitter. i've sold it after blackberry had made it clear that they don't give a shit about bbos10, but it was probably the best phone i've ever had. Amazing build quality (maybe except for rear cover that sometimes felt like it's getting loose, but maybe it was just my device. solved it with a sheet of paper below the cover), OS that runs like a dream even though phone itself has no processing power to run this well, Hub is a glorious feature and i can't live without it, display is a joy to look at, and keyboard is exactly as good as you think it is. I have a Keyone now, but if someone would offer me a Q10 with modern hardware and Android, i wouldn't think twice.

Also, bbos10 has android interpreter, but it's not really as good as you hope it is. Expect lags in any semi-demanding software, like google maps.

I would like to cut the cord to a lot of Instagram but a lot of stuff I enjoy is on it. Mostly art stuff, and as an artist myself I'm wanting to put my work out there a bit and Instagram is a great way to do it. I'd really, really rather put it on my own website but I know I'd never get traffic or anything like that. The big stuff is a monopoly for a reason, and it honestly sucks.

Clover crashes constantly, dashchan won't install without modifications and the built in browser is useless so you'll need something like firefox. Which is slow and prone to freezes.

It's a great phone, perfect size and BB10 is incredible. You're going to be quite limited on the Android support, however. It's got a dual-core SoC and BB10 saves half the cores for itself, so your Android apps are only going to have access to one 1.5GHz Krait core. Not to mention you're limited to apps that support Jellybean

The Classic doesn't have an AMOLED display? That's disappointing.

The stock browser's my favorite mobile browser. Never had an issue with Clover, although I haven't updated in a while.

This is a bit OT in my own thread, but I've been wondering whether those Mobilism modded .apks by Balatan get you banned or not if you haven't tinkered around in xPrivacyLua like used to be necessary. Because obviously that isn't an option on BBOS.

What said, also their most recent phone, the Key2, kind of flopped just like its predecessor because its specs were good not great and it was a bit overpriced at $650 as a result. People realized they were payig for the niche privilege of a physical kb but I guess the avg consumer wasn't having it.

I've had mine for over 5 years now. 100% solid. Only thing that sucks is shit android support, but if you aren't into social media then it wont really matter anyway. its interface and workflow is far superior to Androids in every fucking way.

Same experience. Also got a KEYone (black) after my q10 and the q10 was a lot better quality. Shame about bbos (hub is awesome) and if blackberry were to make a q10 mk2 with up to date specs and android i would be their first customer

Also, if i remember correctly, the k2's keyboard was worse than the k1's, which in turn is worse than q10's. Typing this from a k1 btw
