Are 4K monitors worth it?

Pic unrelated (I guess).

no
hardware cant even run video games at that resolution without shitting itself

What resolution monitor do you have? I have 27" 1920x1080.

Xbox one x enhanced games run 4K 60FPS.

new Xbox coming soon to push this further.

Any decent PC w/ 1080ti/2080/2080ti can also do it

Basically you suck and are wrong.

yes

144hz refresh rate is better

I always stay away from the elitist memes
I haven't spent more than $800 on my PC, using hand-me-downs from my brother and I can still play recently released games at 60fps, don't care about graphics and don't care about fps much, only if it goes below 30
then again most games now are trash and I just end up playing ascii roguelikes and I don't watch tv shows or movies

No, they are not. This is just from having a high resolution monitor.

With the non-standard aspect ratios of 4K monitors you also get black areas when watching any media full screen and the opportunity to fiddle around with scaling.

I would prefer having a good balance of response time and resolution
That's why I prefer my 1440p 144hz TN panel over a 4k 60 IPS. But it all comes down to personal preference and use-case.

>hat's why I prefer my 1440p 144hz TN panel over a 4k 60 IPS
Enjoy.

>16:9
>non-standard aspect ratios

Most console games run at 30 fps on monitors that arent 4K

I don't look at my monitor from a stupid angle. So this is a non-issue.

>16:9
>non-standard aspect ratios
How many 4K monitors have 16:9 ratios?

Imagine caring about black bars

Literally all of them?

>imagine caring about blacks

>I don't look at my monitor from a stupid angle. So this is a non-issue.
Cope fucking harder. Your blacks also appear almost gray when you're looking at the monitor from head height straight on.

Yes. nu/g/ can kick and scream all it wants. 4k is the future resolution as seen by the standards next-gen consoles are setting. Even phone use 4k now. Any creative professionals not using 4k by now are also fucking themselves.

I don't know, it's not like they're a standard or anything.

>Any creative professionals not using 4k by now are also fucking themselves.
what?

>Even phone use 4k now
You mean those couple Sony gimmick ones which have abysmally bad battery life? Also Sony is on their way out of smartphone manufacturing, so, there's that too about your future.

he's trolling. just ignore

For video games
Absolutely not better to get a higher fps and refresh

For any other Computer work
Absolutely yes, loving my 32" 4k monitor 0 regret purchasing it

Nah mate ultrawide is gross
16:10 is what im talkin bout

Consoles run games at medium settings and 30 fps

Sure, it's great for work. I could spawn a dozen of SSH sessions and see them all.
> video games
Die.

Which one is more important, refresh rate or response time? Is 144 Hz/4 ms better than 60Hz/1 ms?

I don't get any phone wanting to go above 1080p, it makes absolutely no difference at all even if I pushed my eyeball against the glass.

BIGGER NUMBERS = BETTER, JUST BUY IT

I work on a 5k (and by work I mean code and shitpost) and honestly can't go back.

What size?

don't think about the battery life user

27

The majority of movies get black bars on 16:9.

If you get one that's 40"-43", yeah.

That's why you set it to stelretch the media.

32" is ok if you can handle 15.6" 1080p @100% scale.
