How do you organize your Jow Forums folder?

Why would anyone save shit found on Jow Forums? This place is gay.

What happened during 2010, 2011, and 2012?

it started as just a "reactions" folder many years ago but quickly just became a general chan dump location
the only way i know where things are is by remembering the first 3 digits of the filename and a feel of when i saved something and the place it would be at in the folder because of that

The only time it has locked up so far was when I opened an image in full screen and couldn't exit. After closing Hydrus in task manager and opening it back up, it simply allowed me to pick up where I left off.

I have a Reaction folder, and then a "General" folder. Reaction are as you would expect, more focused on the face. General is about anything funny from here.

The rest are thrown in there with decent enough names that don't fit into their own series. If the meme is big enough to have variations of it, for example Wojack, it will have some subfolders like Brainlet etc.

And like the last the rest are all thrown in there if they don't have their own folder.

I also have a "Random - Unsorted" folder which I don't know what the fuck I'm thinking. I think it's a mess, but it works for me. Basically aside from the rowdy reaction folder, the other one is way too abstract. I need to narrow them down into genres or something, but I'd rather wallow in sadness. I'll get around to it.

I always delete images older than 1 year because you almost never use them

I throw everything onto my desktop and organize the icons into little blobs

When it gets too cluttered, I create new folder named "backup" then I move all icons, including the old "back up" folder that's already on my desktop into the newly created "backup" folder

i also enjoy that 30 min journey into the "backup" rabbithole every time i want to find that specific image

It's a fun ride. I enjoy it too.

It's easy, I don't have one.

I've got one folder with a few thousand images, sorted by creation date. When I want to find something I:
- Note the first phrase that comes to mind regarding it
- Find it (i just kind of remember where they are in the chronology)
- Name it that phrase so I can find it again, but quicker

Most things are saved and never viewed again, so I save a lot less now.
