I use this format string in picard to sort my music
$if2(%albumartist%,%artist%)/$if(%date%,$if($eq($len(%date%),10), [$left(%date%,4).$right($left(%date%,7),2).$right(%date%,2)] ,[$left(%date%,4)] ))%album%/$if($gt(%totaldiscs%,1),%discnumber%-,)$num(%tracknumber%,2)$if(%compilation%, %artist% -,) %title%

Foobar2000 with a tree hierarchy library plugin that basically overlays my seperate music trees as 1 tree. Like a union.
For different charactersets, I use the original and then create a symlink in English to it.
/日本人 -> /Japanese
I rely a lot on playlists, searching, and tags for playback. Mostly have big sets of music that I add and then shuffle through.
>Folder structure
\Music\Artist\Album\[file]
>separate by language
Seriously, some people do that?
>Music player
MusicBee for playback, Foobar2000 for managing iPod.
I forgot to mention that format string accounts for lack of information. But if you give everything the date format is populated like this
[2016.05.25] KPP BEST
I download full albums, because that's all that is usually available. Then I filter out the good songs, keeping only a single definitive version of each. I put them all in a single directory. I currently have 57 songs, mostly folksy instrumental background music from anime.
Various folders labelled by artist or series all on two 4TB HDD.
Examples
Normal music - Bob Dylan -songs
Anime - anime series
Vidja - videogame series
Other folder for odd shit, like old meme songs like link related.
I use musicbee for listening.
I don't know, I feel weird putting my weeb songs with English bands and my primary language singers.
>How do you organize your music/What's your folder structure?
Artist, then song. I really don't care about albums.
Do you separate it by language?
>Implying what
What's your music player?
Winamp
I don't. I pay Spotify to organize it for me
I don't need to organize music. I listen to a new song on repeat for one week straight until I hate it. Then I find a new song and repeat.
I'm the guy above you.
Are you also me?
Artist > Year > Album (sorted by release order).
Absolutely disgusting
Also 57 songs ... Lol
I don't make playlists. I just dropped the folder in the music folder, and sub-folders etc.
music/artist-songName
Just stick it in a folder. Software's job to organize it.
Deleted around 6,000 last week. I've grown to believe that music is probably harmful.
>What's your folder structure
Music/Artist/Album
>Do you separate it by language
Hell no that's dumb.
>What's your music player
One I made myself called vmn. It's a curses frontend to libmpv.
I dont generally listen to music. The sound of silence is the best form to my ears.

>How do you organize your music?
I don't.
>What's your folder structure? Do you separate it by language?
I do have a separate folder for japanese music but most of the time I just drop everything on the same folder.
>What's your music player?
Music bee.
pic
why would I separate it by language
I used foobar2000
meant to reply to op
good taste
>How do you organize your music?
with folders
>How do you organize your music?
music/album artist/lossless or not/artist if there are others that aren't the same as album artist/albums
>Do you separate it by language?
yes, because the garbage I listen to release in multiple languages and have exclusive language releases
>What's your music player?
musicbee for tagging and phone syncing
foobar2000 to play the music
~/Music/Artist/Album/song
the subfolders only apply if I have at least four songs thet belong in thar subfolder. For example, if I have only three songs by the same artist, they would go directly in ~/Music/, I I had four songs, but not four from the same album, they would go to ~/Music/Artist/.
This way I don't have a useless amount of subfolders.
irrelevant
tag songs ==> musicbee autorename
I mostly deal with electronic music so I sort everything by labels since there's a lot of split eps
/label/catnumber-album name/album name-track#-artist-title
I sort everything with beets and use ncmpcpp as player
