I suppose this is technology related.

Why shouldn't I put sausages in the toaster? They'll still cook, right?

Attached: 3.4.png (112x112, 25K)

Did I kill my microSD card, Jow Forums?

>struggling to copy over file from S8 to laptop over USB
>while connected, try just copying it over to the SD card on the phone
>meanwhile navigate on laptop to phone SD card (before it finishes, it's a large file)
>after around 10 seconds, transfer just stops
>forget to close file manager before disconnecting USB cable (not sure if that made any difference)
>SD card no longer recognized on phone
>open and close tray a few times without luck
>try rebooting phone without luck
>try putting microSD card in adapter and connect to laptop
>'fdisk - l'
>I don't see it
Had a bunch of music and backup of phone, so I didn't really lose anything too important. Still.

'dmesg' shows the following:
nmc0: card never left busy state
nmc0: error -110 whilst initialising SD card

Anyway, wat do? Can I save it?

Oh boy intel for breakfast

Same reason why you don't put grapes, tomatoes, potatoes among other stuff.
They just explode.

Can I get recommendations for custom css that'll make Jow Forums x look as close to the vanilla version as possible?

>They'll still cook, right?
Yes, they will cook. However, cooking meat drips fat. If you don't clean the thing religiously (in a way toasters are not designed to be cleaned), over time if you keep doing this the fat will build up and eventually you put a piece of toast in there and that bitch is gonna set on fire.
I didn't put sausages in my own toaster, but the situation was close enough that I can assure you this is the outcome. Why the fuck do you want to put sausages in a toaster anyway?

Hello :D

My laptop camera has crapped out on me. I want to try to use my android phone as a web camera.

How do I connect an android phone to my windows 10 PC and use it as a web camera?

I'm thinking USB/Bluetooth and some sort of program? But which one...?

> IP streaming camera
Shit quality, also lag and having to do more workarounds to actually use it for anything. I'd rather just plug the phone in via USB or use bluetooth to connect it.

No idea if it will actually work, but first thing that came up when I googled about it. Seems to match your problem description. Also might be an advertisement for that shit that they want you to download, I dunno.

Hmmm... I have tried three programs now with no luck. Iriun, DroidCam and IPCam

I get picture but no sound. My computer is capable of sound. Using the default camera app on my phone to record video allows sound but no sound is being broadcast. So weird.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction anyway.

What do you want from vanilla version? personally I don't find them much different
With a bit css code I manage to put the >> and reduce the post id font size but that's it, iirc 4chanX allows you to put the full navbar

Attached: css.png (1074x219, 52K)

Just figured it out: apparently I had to go under sound settings and tell it to use my cell phone as a microphone, too. It works. Thanks!

Mainly the board list, watch button, and thread updater to be fixed on the top and bottom of the page.
Although I am interested in minor cosmetic details like what you've got as well.

Sometimes my computer doesn't detect either my external hard drive or my phone when I plug my phone in. Happens on both linux and windows. It also sometimes won't power my microphone if i try to fuck around with what's plugged in via usb and what isn't. Does that mean I need a new PSU?

What's the best way to sync audio in a video and overwrite the file with the synced version? I don't have any programs I'd call video editors installed on my machine and wanted to avoid installing more programs. I was hoping I could just use >VLC to sync the audio and then restream it or something so it's correct but I can't find any sources telling me that's possible.

I'm guessing you use the chassis front facing USB ports.
They are often shit, just buy a powered hub and connect it directly from your mobo

How do you format cells to be H:mm when the cells are in seconds in spreadsheet?
I tried the HH:MM and [H]:MM format cell options but it returns values multiple times higher then what teh sum of the cells are

This no longer works?

However it's very slow mainly because of the celeron CPU and 1 GB of RAM.
What version of windows is best for it?

Can someone answer this?

Puppy Linux

Zeno's arrow paradox.

Other than GNU/Linux?

It's hopeless on Windows.

How to see a list of accounts that use my gmail as a recovery option?

Why? I think it ran an older version of windows, right?

i'm trying to sign up to a website but it's asking me for a valid email address, i've tried lots of disposable email websites but it doesn't like any of them
how can i create a legit email without having to give up my phone number?

something's wrong with my fireden search
it only appears when hold my lmb on the search field
when I let go of my lmb it disappears
it stays there as long as I hold down my lmb

i'm the samefag from the other thread with the machine_check_exception bsod while playing TWW2. i tried this, and I had no crashes while playing a tww2 battle (though low fps) and running windows driver verifier. it seems my GPU or its drivers are the issue, but i can't seem to figure out why.

i guess i've got to RMA the part away?

How come people act like getting your ears pierced is normal but getting your cock pierced is somehow edgy or strange?

It's a bug with FoolFuuka on Chromium-based browsers that has only been fixed on 4plebs so far, especially since nobody has had contact with the fireden admin in some time.
Either use Firefox or do a middle/right click (long press on mobile) as a workaround.

how can i download a Jow Forums thread? images and all.
i know archives are a thing, but i dont like them.

I figured out a work around for now
if I click and drag my mouse to my taskbar it tricks it into thinking I'm holding my lmb
annoying but nothing serious I guess

I think probably because piercing ears is considered a cultural norm, whereas cock piercing isn't really widespread like that. Also, most people consider it somewhat odd for males to pierce their ears. Are you really going to get your cock pierced? Hot.

Am I too sensitive if I had to leave work and go home early because a customer called me a nigger? I know it's just words but I thought it was really hurtful, and I felt so humiliated since everyone could hear them call me that right out in the open, also my manager and co-workers heard and they didn't say anything to them. I feel like somebody should have stood up for me or even just said something... Legit thinking of quitting this job since it's not the first time something like this has happened.

Shut up, nigger.

Sorry, couldn't help it.

Is that the real reason you want to quit though, or are you perhaps just looking for one?

You're not being too sensitive, and within the workplace this is even worse. The word has a long history of being used to humiliate and denigrate black people. I can't say that it's the best decision to leave the job - that really depends on whether you can get other work, but I don't think you're too sensitive, and depending on where you live, you might be able to complain about it. I know that in Australia, if someone did that to you and you have witnesses, you'd get leave, probably offered counseling, etc. If the person who used the term was a co-worker, they'd certainly be disciplined, and maybe even terminated. If an employer failed to act on your complaint, you'd even have a civil case against them for making work impossible for you. Sounds like you're American though, so...

talk to HR, if your work environment has one
or complain to the closest thing you have to HR, your boss if you need to

I'd say you are being too sensitive, but that's not a reason not to complain if you feel uncomfortable or distressed by this encounter

My browser does not play swf files I have saved on my computer.
It will play those same flashes once I upload them to catbox or something.
What the shit?

I have Pentium Dual-Core CPU at 2.6 GHz.
When I use hardinfo to see info about them, I see that one of them has a frequency of 2603 MHz and the other has a frequency of 1203 MHz.

Aren't they both supposed to be on 2.6 GHz?

thanks user, will give that a whirl

Is my SSD haunted? It won't let me boot on any computer I have. I tried it in a Thinkpad R400 and I got stuck at the splash screen, tried it in a MacBook and nothing happens at boot at all. I tried to start my main PC with it connected via USB and it doesn't boot. Eventually my PC recognised it and I could see that the filesystem was unknown, probably because it was corrupted. But I can't mount it, so I can't format it on my PC.
Does anyone know why it is doing this? Normally with a dead drive the computer will still boot and/or give an error message.

got some sort of virus on my android phone thats making ads pop up out of nowhere, any easy way to get rid of this thing?

Attached: 1521036191471.jpg (1024x680, 166K)

Reposting because I'm fucking autistic: Any tips for looking out for any form of a virus? Keylogger, Trojan etc
I'm using windows 10 with malware bytes and it doesn't detect anything suspicious, i visited a few porn sites once that i know are safe but I'm still paranoid

Have you considered not using Windows?

There's really no way to ever know for sure. Generally it's assumed that a clean, non-pirated copy of Windows 10 would be clean, so then the issue is making sure you don't install any dodgy programs, and even then there's a small chance - CCleaner was generally considered very safe, but even they recently had an issue with code being inserted into some versions. Just keep track of what programs you install, make sure you download them from legit sources, etc. Use a decent adblock and try to avoid highly suspicious pages. NEVER accept executables or programs from people without knowing what they are.

Sadly, windows 10 is pre-installed on this and i don't know shit about installing and uninstalling operating systems

You make a bootable medium, usually a flash drive or DVD, and you select that medium in the BIOS. It really is very simple.

Well, what would you recommend user(s)?
personally for a OS I'd like something with a UI clean as windows 10 as I've gotten use to it.

Probably MX Linux. I think that is generally considered to be the new best for novice users.

I client of mine is running a pretty big Wordpress website, I'd like to set-up a local version of that WP on my laptop but it has tons of files to download (mostly uploads) and I feel like classic FTP transfer is way underpowered for that.

Getting WP website from online to local is always a huge pain in the ass: downloading all the files, exporting/importing the database, making sure nothing fucks up during the import of the db, modify the DB to work on localhost... Is there a good process/tool out there to simply get a local version of a WP website?

Also: what's a good practice to backup such big websites? Should I just run a full backup every few days (including the huge uploads directory)?

There's an app that do that, I forgot it's name.
Something like notification monitor, perhaps.

>NEVER accept executables or programs from people without knowing what they are
While you're correct, how to stop webm from executing code?

Is Android just a Linux distribution with a custom desktop environment ?
Does it use X or another windows manager ?

A webm can't execute code, it's just a data file which is read by another program, such as your web browser.
It could be possible that a vulnerability in your browser allows the webm to execute some arbitrary instructions, but that's rather unlikely.

Linux ?
On Ubuntu, there was something about modifying /etc/mime.types so that your browser is recognised as able to play flash files.

If my ear got infected and had to be amputated, I'd be pissed but not that much.
If my dick started rotting I would kill myself, it's just mentally terrifying.
Also I would imagine piercing the dick would be a lot more bloody and painful.

Thinking about shelling out for an Anti-virus.
I usually see Bitdefender and Malwarebytes suggested here, which should I go for?

Attached: 1555708423210.jpg (270x400, 27K)

No, not in the same way e.g. the Nokia N900 was.
The HAL layer on Android provides a "Graphics" interface upon which apps (everything on Android is an app, including the System UI and your launcher) can draw using 2D and OpenGL ES APIs in either Java or native code, which then get composited (in hardware, since Android 4.0). It's the rough equivalent of Linux/DRM and a Wayland compositor on a GNU/Linux desktop.

Common Sense 2019(tm)

>A webm can't execute code
Technically you're right, but my point is that anything can be used to execute code.

Sure, the only 100% secure computer is one that is unplugged and unpowered.
I don't think that you should reasonably worry about playing random multimedia files, unless your threat model includes being individually targeted by the state or a major corporation.

What is this?

Someone's phone is sending emails?

what do I do about USB sticks in bash? I'm installing arch and have tried to unmount /dev/sdc (the USB stick) but it's still showing up. I wanna get this sorted without having to physically pull it out without unmounting it first

Either a very misguided person who had an Android issue (apparently on a Huawei phone) and wrote a mail in Arabic to the debian-security mailing list, or a misconfigured spammer running on Android. You may discriminate them using mail headers.

Update: The signature simply says "Sent from my Huawei phone".

Are you sure it's on sdc? On my Xubuntu box, I plugged in a USB and it showed up on sde. Use lsblk(8) to show all the disks on your system and determine where yours really is.
Also, I usually command-line unmount by targeting the mountpoint, not the device. Give that a go.
cute boy

see or do the sensible thing and install GNU/Linux

>OS: Debian
>GPU: Radeon HD 5450

>OpenCL version 1.1
>Want to use OpenCL 1.2

Can't find a way to install it anywhere.
Where should I look? Not listed as a package in the repos, and not available on the AMD website.

Attached: 1555753530850.png (1920x1080, 122K)

Get the free version of both.

If the OS is Windows 10, very easy. Pretty much just run macrium reflect then change the boot order.

It's the heart button in the OP, dunno if there is an Jow Forums X option to put it at the top and the bottom of the thread but I think you can fix the position and throw it in the Jow Forums X header using CSS

i have a usb flash diskette. i was writing to it with an xbox and someone shut it down. plugging it in ubuntu shows sdb but no sdb1. diskpart in windows says "no media in device". i suspect the gpt is fucked somehow. how could i fix it? It has pictures i want back so i atleast want to be able to dd it

>sudo fdisk /dev/sdb
>??
>profit(?)
Or run something like gparted if you feel like you need gui.

bought an HKC c340 recently as well as a DP to mini-DP cable to run it with my HD 7970, works fine but monitor switches off every minute or so and comes back on when running at 100Hz, 60Hz has no issues at all
Is this a cable issue or a monitor issue? The cable i bought is 6ft, should i buy the 3ft version instead ? I like the monitor a lot and i hope it's a cable issue, thanks for the help.

>cannot open /dev/sdb no medium found
should i delete first 512 bytes?

I can't decide whether to put it here or /tpg/, so I'll put it here at first. Basically my ThinkPad has been randomly turning off (as seen in youtu.be/R8omHvAlNis and youtu.be/Q5dq9b9hTLE ). I asked around in some ThinkPad places to no avail. Some people said it might be the HDD as without the HDD I can load up a Linux live usb, but when I reboot and attempt to install it, it dies. This is the noise the HDD is making, is that a sign of failure? youtu.be/YXSORLdz724

if there's only one thing under sdb then
sdb == sdb1

gives me something about no existing drive

plug in a live usb. if it stays on it's the hdd. if it fails then either motherboard is fried or psu is broken

I tried the antergos live iso and stayed on for like 15 or so hours overnight + while I was in an exam, but when I came home and tried to install antergos it shut off

I should probably add that the live usb was fine when there was no HDD in, but when I added it and tried to install to it it died again

hdd probably fucked, though i don't know why it shuts down the whole thing

So, It just tried showing a friend this , and windows explorer basically shit the bed. It worked fine earlier (), so I don't know what's different now.
I was able to bring up the task manager, and command prompt from that (which is why I can still use the computer). I tried running it again, and like explorer.exe, the command prompt window is also frozen and unkillable through the task manager too.
Snipping tool works fine until it tries to save, where it hangs until I try to kill it (and then miraculously starts working again). To take a screenshot, I had to locate and start gimp, and paste in the screenshot there (fortunately the print screen key works fine).

What do? Ultimately, I can just save what's open and restart the computer, but anyone have ideas on how to recover without restart?
