It sounds nice in theory but in practice you've got a problem with a guy setting up a farm of computers sending each other random shit at 1 Gbit/s and monopolizing the coin in effect.
There is no way to prevent this I can think of that isn't easily circumvented.

I kinda know that feel. My connection is 20/2 Mbit, so my upload spikes to 250KB/s if I'm lucky. Up until last year, I've had 10/1. I still try to seed stuff that has few seeds, and sometimes I'd go check if the file I have locally is still seeded on the site I've got it from.

Set your upload to 80% of your connection speed to avoid this.
This isn't necessary with a proper client like uTorrent 2.2.1 since it will meter itself, but 80% is the solution if you run into it.

And 0.9Mbps is still more than worthwhile. I'm actively seeding on 20-30 torrents on 10Mbit at any given time, so each one is getting less than 0.5Mbit. They all get their files eventually.

I have no idea how RM works. Say I want to use it only for public trackers: is RM detectable only on a torrent-by-torrent basis, or can it be detected if it's been used on your client at all?

Because most private trackers will instaban your ass if they see you using ratio manipulators...
