For me it's Letter Gothic.

What about you user?

I installed Bookerly for general usage and Inconsolata for monospaced.
I also frequently masturbate to my perception of Inconsolata's young and fertile, sleek, slightly short femenine body with long straight pitch black hair, perky tits, toned abs, wide hips and a noticeable thigh gap, as the word means "the (female) inconsolable" in Spanish.

Iosevka is really fucking good.

Times new roman

no Papyrus is the best way to make typography people mad. Bonus: bad kerning

Fira Code

Or consolas

Anything but Roman

Any fixed-width font works for me.

Caslon for books and Futura for anime subtitles

Hots.

bookerly and inconsolata are my gotos as well.

noto sans for sans serif

For regular text it's Fira and IBM Plex.
For code it's Iosevka.

Advice from /gd/:

Massimo Vignelli

Remember words are weapons. Don’t use gay meme fonts unless you really know what you’re doing. Don’t bring a knife to a gun fight.

These renders horribly on computers though.

Extremely based but add Akzidenz Grotesk and Caslon

Really? Which ones?

Times Roman and Helvetica, and what I mean by on computers I mean in UI elements. I'm sure they are great for pdf and whatnot.

Helvetica in roman or medium can be perfectly good for UI elements on any screen from this decade. I agree though that any of the other five aren’t well suited for that purpose.

I use IBM plex mono, I like my monospace text to look like a corporative terminal.

Nah, fuck off, just use Terminus.

For me, it's milkjf from the Sharp x68000. It's definitely not as clean as a more modern pixel font, but it's always stuck in my brain as classic.

A pixel is not a square.
Not a bad font though.

source code pro for mono

Thank you user

I don't understand your objection. I'm comparing it to modern remixes of bdf fonts, particularly fonts like cherry and tweii. The page I linked lists both the original bdf which I use as well as a ttf conversion. I'd call it a pixel font.

can someone please tell me why you folks gush so much over helvetica?

i can't use anything but Fira Code, just wish it had proper italics

IBM Plex Mono
Source Code Pro if I'm feeling fancy
Gas everyone who uses Fira Code.

Roboto for ui.
Iosevka for code.

I believe Helvetica is so popular because it fully embodies the power of modernity. It doesn't shout or scream, but it's the loudest typeface ever designed.

Those are excellent, though I'd say they play second fiddle to Helvetica and Garamond respectively.

EB Garamond. It's the closest I could find to Patrick Bateman's Silian Rail
