foobar, but since i never could be bothered to rewrite scripts it looks like something from 10 years ago

I'm using Rhythmbox since I switched to linux on my main pc a week ago. Am looking for something else though, something a bit more foobar like.

I've heard people like en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quod_Libet_(software)

Audacious. I'd use Clementine if it didn't have bugs with fast-forwarding. Really pissed me off to fast-forward to where I left off on a podcast and it'd skip to the next track.

Yeah I used to run Clementine way back when Amarok went away and I encountered some annoying bugs too.

Spotify. have sex.

I had completely forgotten about lemon demon.

QMMP with the winamp classic skin. Just replaced winamp with it after many years and I'm quite happy.

I do have sex and I wouldn't ever use Spotify. Tidal or Deezer maybe. That shit is poverty tier.

mpv

Yeah it's great. I think I tried it before but I couldn't get it to work quite how I wanted it. I had to tweak the EQ quite a bit to get it sounding as good as Winamp's. I actually think it sounds better now. I found that mpg123 sounds better than libmad too. Not a big surprise since libmad hasn't been developed in years.

mostly cmus
sometimes Rythmbox

so much duplicated artist information, what a waste of screen estate

cmus.

Cantata

Doesn't really bother me with winamp and it's clones since I'm just using it to listen to internet radio streams most of the time anyway. It only sucks when the artist/title is too long and gets cut off.

How the fuck do you prevent albums from auto playing on cmus?

quod libet can be configured however you like. the three columns at the top can be any music attribute, or you can go to a completely different view, say album art and get rid of the columns completely.

It's not bad. Can't vouch for its library management functions (I use it to browse a library synced to a network share), but playback is fine.

Download this one

prdownloads.sourceforge.net/mpxplay/MpxplayMMC_v305_x86_portable.zip?download

That looks terrible. Maybe it would be better with a good font and different colors.

the eternal boomer

mocp

I really liked foobar so I looked around for a decent linux replacement. Deadbeef is the closest I could find.

quod libet's cover art browser is my main reason to use it. it's handling of sorting by folder structure is nice as well. my only complaint is that it's uses gstreamer (yucky bloat).
