You already posted it.

Yes
7z a -t7z files.7z -m0=lzma2 -mx=9 -aoa -psecret file

et 7z x files.7z

7zip is the only free replacement that I never ever regretted

Can't say the same about most of the meme softwares shilled on this gay board everyday though

Has anything come close to this yet? It's free and it works on most formats.

.xz

Try doing this on 7-shit

>have 1 folder
>want to extract everything in said folder
>zip files inside that folder
>another folder with more zip file inside the folder (subfolders etc)

With PeaZip, you can literally right click>extract on the main folder and it will extract all zip files (even the zipfiles in the subfolders etc)

with 7-cuck, you have to go into every subfolder and manually select all zip files (because if you just CTRL+A select everything and there's an image file or other unrelated objects, you cannot extract)

>literally retard-tier use case

>extract on the main folder and it will extract all zip files
is this a compression tool for the intellectually disabled? what a joke. I'm certain you would have killed yourself if you had to deal with ARC, LHA, LZH, TAR etc. using the command prompt / ms-dos or bash.
100%

>group by type
>select all compressed files
>extract to *\

I don't understand why windows explorer doesn't just use group by type automatically having a disorganized clusterfuck by default is stupid as hell.

7zip because of its versatility, but I still prefer tar+xz on Linux since it has a more streamlined CLI and p7zip crashed a few times for me while handling a large amount of input files.

You literally can do that without issue on 7zip. Are you retarded?

Yeah right, I have examined 7-zip settings and context menu items for hours to no avail.

The only way to extract everything with 7-zip is to manually go into every folder and manually select all zip files. Imagine doing this for a folder with 486 subfolders (where all subfolders contain zip files (pic related)).

> he blames the compression tool for such FUCKING SHIT-TIER file organization
truly and utterly pathetic.

our boy 7zip of course

>Imagine doing this for a folder with 486 subfolders (where all subfolders contain zip files (pic related)).

freearc

Tell me when 7zip supports jap text

>7z
>no recovery records
>slow extraction speed
>good
7z is just another freetarded pile of shit. RAR5 is superior.

just write a shell script bro oh wait hahahahaha he's on windows

.7z is the tightest

Just crack WinRAR

7zip is hipster placebo shit

WinRar of course

zstd

lmao, what the hell are you trying to do

Dude.
Just search for *.zip files in the root folder you absolute mong

7-zip has exactly one use.
Its file manager can be used for renaming or deleting files that Windows explorer can't.
For example, you unzip your anime porn into a folder and the folder name has characters that explorer can't quite handle but NTFS can. You can then use 7zFM to remove or rename that folder.

LZMA is clearly the best algorithm.

i used precomp + uharc/freearc to compress games which i then uploaded to public trackers/warez sites as a kiddo. i guess you could say that skullptura inspired me to take compsci path. he probably doesn't browse here anymore but if he does thx man.

Yeah, there's only two different shell languages plus two scripting languages and three programming language compilers included by default that I can think of.
Literally impossible.

the one where they ask whats the password and how to install

XZ_OPT=-9 tar cJf tarfile.tar.xz directory
XZ_OPT=-e9 tar cJf tarfile.tar.xz directoryXZ_OPT=-e9 tar cJf tarfile.tar.xz directory
>-e is for extreme, but it can be quite slow.

oops double paste on the last one.
