Looking for a rec for a simple Android photo editor, all I need is resizing, trimming, and brightness/contrast editing. Pretty much the same as stock Android image editor but with resizing.

Does anyone here basically never write with pen and paper? The last things to go for me have been to sketch out psuedo code and doing proofs. Now I'm just in the habit of outlining my code via org-mode, and I have hotkeys for all my Latex symbols so I just hack away at proofs through that.

What's the best browser out of surf, luakit and uzbl? I just need something that defaults to no tabs (new windows instead), fullscreen (no menu / toolbar blocking my view), is completely keyboard driven and relatively secure (last I remember the suckless crew don't even cryptographically sign their work, so I'm inclined not to trust that). How to actually read source code? Lets take Org-Mode, Emacs Calc and Luakit as examples of projects I'd like to understand and modify.

I have recovered an old hard drive from a laptop that had Windows 98 on it. I tried to boot into it by plugging it into a USB port oon my main computer with an ide adapter, but Windows won't get past the loading screen because it can't recognize my 16GB of RAM.

is there a way to make a virtual machine that emulates correct period hardware and boot from that hard drive instead of an ISO?

well if you just want to see whats on it, you don't need to boot from it. If you just want to play around with Win98, you can just install it in a VM, you don't need it to be from that drive.

How far along is your AI? Don't have one? Didn't think so.

You could try and pass through the USB drive into a virtual machine, then boot to an ubuntu live CD and use DD to copy the disk contents into the VHD and see if it will boot up afterwards.

I would assume that it probably wont work since 98 is old as shit and probably doesnt have great hardware support, but it's probably worth a shot if you really want it.
I would just copy the shit off the drive and wipe it though, it should be NTFS if it's 98 so modern Windows can still read it fine.

I have a very old laptop, and its monitor isn't good. I don't have the money to buy a new computer so I have to buy a monitor and attach it to the laptop. My laptop screen has a resolution of 1366x768. If I want to attach a monitor what port do I have to look for? HDMI, USB? Do I have to buy a monitor with a resolution of 1366x768 or can I buy a higher one? Those old specs are incredibly hard to find on Amazon. Will a secondary monitor tax my system and use more RAM?

Port depends on what ports your laptop has, I'm guessing it'll have HDMI so that's probably your best and easiest bet. It would have to be some video port though, like HDMI or DVI, there are USB monitors but they suck.
You can get a higher resolution monitor, you can expand the desktop so it'll just be 1366x768 and 1920x1080 next to it. For normal computer use a higher resolution wouldn't tax it that much more, and what it does use more would be GPU.

Oh by the way I'm doing this because I need a decent quality monitor, I don't need just a monitor. I have learned that laptop monitors are awful and I work with graphics.

you could dd the hard drive to an image file, I believe you can then tell KVM/QEMU to treat that as a raw disk image. I presume that's possible in other hypervisors too

anyway, input device keeps sperging out inconsistently and out of nowhere. Sometimes it goes back to EN right after I change it to PT, others it behaves for a week or so then I notice it reverted back to EN usually when trying to use quotation marks or interrogation -- since they're the most frequently used keys which are different. Normal daily usage, like shitposting, browsing. And out of nowhere, like watching a stream for hours then go to post a question or something and it fucked up again.
