Works on my machine :^)

You are using it wrong. They are absolutely not defects. Only a small number of MacBook users experience these unintended features.

you make it sound like this a uniquely apple problem.

It is.

some newer dell ups units had the same issue with their screens iirc

*xps, my bad

ya, because backlight issues are uniquely apple. ignoring the fact the same chinese corps who make apple laptops make other laptops for other brands. We're not even talking about the keyboard, which is uniquely apple, in this case.

They are. The screens are perfectly fine. It's the street shitting designers at One Infinite Loo that decided to spec the cable 1cm shorter than it should've been.

mactoddlers will defend this

BASED

*pple literally uses plastic screws for their 15000$ iFag pro.

That is not true. Even $300 laptops don't have such problem.
I had a handful of cheap laptops (ASUS X502CA and some Lenovo Ideapad).
ASUS had no issues. Lenovo had hinge problem (it ripped the plastic, pretty common on those Lenovos, actually). None of them had backlight cable issues even after 5 years of use.
Sure, that cable won't last forever, I have replaced couple cables in friends' laptops over time.
On my MacBook Air that would be pretty difficult, since Apple loves their fucking adhesives. But possible. Newer MacBooks have that cable directly glued to LCD. Have you seen ribbon cable on calculator LCD? That is similar thing. You would need pretty expensive equipment to change that cable.
It wouldn't have been a big issue, if they were selling screens or screen assemblies separately... But they are fucking bitches. They won't sell you shit.

what are you, pOOR?

Works on my machine ;^)

You stupid fucking bitch you broke it. I've never ever in 20 years of fixing computers come across an Apple with a fucked screen like that. Quit making up lies on the internet faggot.

It's not okay because this dumb cunt ruined it and is parading on here for (You)s. What a sad fucking life.

pretty sure that's a mac displaying an image that was made to look like shitty backlights and not an actual hardware defect. nice try

Those are new apples, where they replaced cable with flex.

Once upon a time, HP was infamous for overheating laptops. That time has passed.

Now, Apple has laptops with bad backlights and keys. And unlike HP, Apple now locks out Linux and *BSD.

My HP EliteBook is solid, and it's an convertible ultrabook model (however it's personal). I run FreeBSD on mine and it works very well (except that sometimes FreeBSD doesn't detect the PS/2 touchpad). And it's cheaper than a ThinkPad.

Although my DLSR is an exception (Canon made in Japan), I can't.

We're living in shit era really.

zdnet.com/article/how-tough-are-apples-macbook-pro-laptops/

How about some context, faggot. You just stole an image from this article and tried to frame it as an ootb defect.

Pathetic.

Everyone is shitting on the current MacBook design.

>canon
he said CHINA you dense motherfucker!

If you're marketing a premium brand you're accepting the responsibility of people being that much more upset about common problems.

It's a visual notification that you should upgrade to $CURRENT_YEAR MacBook.

Because it's terrible.

At work we "upgraded" to 2018 Mbps but I still use my 2015 with actual ports and a non shittt keyboard and a non shitty display

found your problem

>B-but Dell
Christ, you macshills are insufferable. As soon as someone points a flaw in a product you get paid to advertise, you need to broadcast that some other brand has it too based on one guy mentioning it in a forum somewhere. Hey what other brands have a keyboard that breaks if you loom at it too hard?

Just buy a T480s.

This is half the content on Jow Forums and yet you guys wonder why no one actually in the industry participates here.

>they’re all like that

Isn’t weird how you never see Lenovo shit (or bitter incels) doing anything productive?

I have a horrid 300dollar 1366x768 Dell laptop from 4 years ago that's doesn't even do that

Yeah I remember you. I am worried because my parents bought a 2017 13" for their eBay store and they aren't the cleanest people. I told them to be really careful around that keyboard but apparently the damn thing is running without a hitch. So to them they love it and see no issues. I still think they are in a minority. Even long time Apple fans hate this design.
