It isn't nixOS
Convince me not to cum on ur moms face in the next 5 minutes
You're probably too much of a babby to handle it.
install gentoo
xbps-src is shit compared to the AUR and gentoo overlays
>xbps
i can always install a aur helper and completely ignore xbps, so who cares
>it isn't memeOS
thank god
tried to install it yesterday and had major issues with uefi, only way it would install was legacy boot, mixed and uefi alone was a no go although i created the efi partition with correct flags prior.
>what fs do you wanna use for /boot
>xfs, cool bruh, lemme format it for your
>grub failed to install, check /dev/tty8
>unknown filesystem
>ok, juden, which one DO you know?
>try to use gparted in the live environment, bruh
>installs, oh sweet
>fails to run due to some weird lib mismatch
>oh you need opera as a browser, just install the nonfree repos bruh, THEN you'll be able to install it.
>oh, you need ffmpeg playback in your browser...dude, that sucks
>you need some special chromium extra lib from an archive you have to find.
>install xfce
>startxfce4 fails
>bruh, you need to create a xinit file, dude, then it's totally gonna work
and on, and on.
No 64-bit wine.
Piece of shit people among maintainers.
No forums.
why use void when you could just fire up windows 8
You are retarded.
Create 2 partitions:
1. FAT32 /boot
2. XFS/f2fs/btrfs/whateverfs /
thanks brainlet, but if it's for uefi, the install usb doesn't boot in uefi+legacy or uefi alone.
if it's for legacy, the only option that the installer will even work in, i eventually used ext3 for /boot only to have the trouble described above.
void is a nice idea, poor implementation.
>fat32
>boot
u feckin wot
>>you are retarded
ewytim
>if it's for uefi, the install usb doesn't boot in uefi+legacy or uefi alone.
Error on your part.
Also, try "void-mklive" to create your own bootable stick.
>if it's for legacy, the only option that the installer will even work in
>Using installer instead of installing manually into chroot
You are too brainlet for Void.
However, if you want to redo, I recommend this guide (except partition scheme, it's retarded): wiki.voidlinux.org
>>fat32
>>boot
>u feckin wot
Problems?
>It's literally another "Debianfied" distro
pic related
lol
>Error on your part.
i see you have apple employee potential
no
>i see you have apple employee potential
Thanks.
But nevertheless, I've installed it on a range of devices starting from 2013 (mobo production year) and have never had a single issue with UEFI boot. My friend's XPS13 had some external GPU troubles without CSM mode enabled, but that's that.
Your "it doesn't work" doesn't give enough information to conclude anything besides your incompetence. Which is further highlighted by your following complaints.
its another distro for hipsters
just dont bother
Just use windows 10 you retard
no problem, bro. not like everyone has to use void.
runit-fucking-shit and its eternal boot times.
convince me to convine you
True.
As said before, some things (like the lack of Wine64 in repos) make it not the best choice for everyone.
I do think that it's one of the best, though.
Literally faster than system-d and doesn't hang when you turn the PC off.
I won't. b urself.
>Literally faster than system-d
No it isn't. Anybody that has used both can attest to that.
>and doesn't hang when you turn the PC off.
Cope
There's a reason why Arch decided to migrate to SystemD instead of (anything else that is not SystemD), you know.
It's less popular, so there's less documentation/forum posts available if something breaks and you don't know what to do, and don't like to always have to figure things out yourself.
>ponyos
enjoy outdated packages, lack of documentation and shitty community
>outdated packages
How to spot a person that doesn't use void.
cope harder, faggot
No, you fucking piece of shit.
Use whatever the fuck you want, I don't care.
