I didn’t go to college and I’m a software dev making nearly 200k, a degree may get a foot in the door somewhere, or it might clear some asinine hurdle that HR has put in place. Truth be told, even the jobs that say they “require” a bachelors degree don’t give a fuck. Most will call you for the phone interview, and if you aren’t a complete sperg and can get past that, they really only care about skill.

That depends on what exactly is data analytics and AI. In my uni "AI" was academic only stuff with no practical use, and "data processing and analysis" was actual data science.

200k is literally the starting salary for fresh grads in bay area, though.
