Raspberry Crap

So I got one of these. The 3b+. And it's shit. Can't even run a 1 person Minecraft server without kicking the client off every 5 min. Also, the UI is shit. There are literally Android phones on 2.3 and 512 mb that run more smooth than this garbage. So all that said, I don't get its popularity? What are people using this for when it's barely working?

Cry more brainlet

>not even using a homophobic slur.
Fuck off, summerfag

you're pozzed

>Also, the UI is shit.
What are you even talking about? It's a piece of hardware, not software. The UI you chose to install might be shit.
And do your research next time, dumbass. Minecraft servers require more than 1Gb of RAM and slow microSD storage.
You just bought a product without knowing what it was for. Get fucked.

Dear Cuntface,

Google Raspberry Pi and you'll see several posts about people doing that exact same thing, apparently successfully. So excuse me for trying to do what others claim they have done, on apparently much other Minecraft builds that were much less resource heavy, but neglected to communicate that.

Also, go fap to trap loli porn, you incel roodypoo

dumb faggot, what is your problem?

Holy shit this whole forum is full of Dustin Hoffmans

Sorry you can't play your baby games on your tranny hardware.

I did google it, because I considered doing the exact thing you tried to do. I did my research thoroughly and concluded that the Raspberry Pi is not suited to host a Minecraft server. Don't just read the first result when you use a search engine.

It's a board

He probably didn't allocate enough RAM to the server software lole
Source: I had the problem described by OP on a much larger PC

>I don't get its popularity? What are people using this for when it's barely working?
most people either use it as a thin client to serve media from or as an embedded (and usually overkill) microcontroller e.g. for an automated indoor pepper farm. it sucks for doing anything remotely heavy.

>UI is shit
Just run it headless and manage it through ssh.

there are multiple oses that run on the pi.
hasnt even said what os he is talking about

Trying tinycore now

>complains about performance
>the UI is shit

>ui

I run my Raspie on a Samsung card. If you're using a noname brand microsd card, your performance will probably be bad. Maybe try running it headless? I always ssh to mine and it would never occur to me to use the graphical interface

>Minecraft

Minecraft is one of the most resource heavy games you could try to run on the Rpi. Blame voxel shit.

>the UI is shit
you're not supposed to use it, mi niño

BOOTED THIS PIECE OF POS UP AND ALL IT HAD ON THE SCREEN WAS SOME STUPID TEXT AND THEN I ASKED FOR USERNAME LIKE WTF I DIDN'T EVEN SET THAT UP AND IT DIDN'T EVEN ALLOW ME TO TYPE THE PASS LOL WHAT A STUPID "COMPUTER"

the password is pi and the pw is raspberry or the other way around

you're clearly not the target audience for the pi

what is that man doing to him

It's meant for people who want to create and learn. I'm sorry if you're a dumb, uncreative consumer.

>Buys something cheap to do something that takes the price of the thing he bought to do properly...

i wrote a program on mine that allows it to collect dust at twcie the normal rate after putting it in a dusty area

>pi
>cheap
Pick one and only one
The Pi is rather expensive for what it is when there is SBCs with better hardware for the same price
The only thing a Pi has going for it is community support but hardware is meh at best, seriously only a single USB bus connects the pi to the outside world

Linux doesn't echo passwords by default, brainlet.

Every time it's shilled someone suggest something better but fags keep eating up and regurgitating the rpi meme despite it having a shared usb/sdcard/ethernet bus and having a ancient CPU in ARM standards.

Get a Odroid or Orange pi or Pineboard.

The pi is cheap relative of what you can do with it.
So long as your plan isn't to power 4 USB drives with it.

While I do agree with you there are more alternatives price wise to it you're always better off getting a pi if you're going to use it to control some cheap device that you need to run a web server or some shit.

>people doing that exact same thing, apparently successfully
So by your own words, you're a faggot who cannot follow simple set up guides that has obviously worked for dozens of other people. Bravo you cock sniff.

RPis are just for learning. OP is trying to take it one step further.

The constant AstroTurf against Pis is amusing. Is it Intel being ass hurt that nobody cared about all their tries to enter this market? Salty super spies taking time off from amazing adventures to shill the board because the Pi doesn’t have botnet?

Doesn't it require propietary broadcom drivers which are 'botnet'

my rpi3b burnt out on me after a year, i didn't even know it was capable of shorting itself considering how low the voltage is

I use a Zero W as a pi-hole, another as a sshfs server and use another as dual-boot kodi and retroArch. Quite happy with all of them.

>mb
>milibit
Mate, please restudy your SI prefixes...

of all the things you can do with one, you decide to do a minecraft server
I'm surprised you even manage to get it running with how dumb you are

Yeah, no thanks. Gizmodo says Orange Pi is unstable.

>What are people using this for when it's barely working?
personally? I use mine as a minecraft server and a Kodi box

I find network stuff on OPis to be very shaky. I've tried several OSes on it and most of them have been fine for uptimes of up to a couple fo weeks but any implementation of networking just packs in after a couple of days and has to be reset. This is across a PC, Lite and R1.

Because it's good for new fags like me that have no clue what they're doing. We can perform simple operations and think, "I DID A THING!" It's not a serious machine, it's just like a learning tool that can run old video games well.

>I smell summer

Oh yeah, apparently it's shipping already.

>He fell for the ____Berry Pi meme.
>Couldn't even get minecraft working on it.
>Tripfagged when called out for doing either of these things
What month is summer supposed to start, and why is it ten days early?

> Google
OK Rajesh, go shit on the street while we talk about grownup stuff

You've apparently never heard about foreplay

/thread

get the fuck out of my website

>There are literally Android phones on 2.3 and 512 mb that run more smooth than this garbage.
the fuck are you doing?
