a loopback device is simply a device which "simulates" a physical device such as a hard drive, for example you can mount a directory or ISO as a loop device and access the files as if you were accessing them from a separate hard drive. Normal users won't really use them much at all, but they're commonly deployed behind the scenes. On reboot, the device will probably disappear - whatever is using that loop device will, if required, set it up by itself.

That TV is a bit old and I doubt it has Wifi. I will check tomorrow. A assume I would need to set up a raspberry Pi or something and router to make it work.

well you could get something like a Chromecast for the TV and a USB WiFi dongle for the PC, but the latency won't be great. Be sure it's USB3 and not 2, which would definitely be too slow for streaming live video.

What college major is actually good? Every time I do research they all have big negatives.
Engineering = One of the hardest majors. Graduate and usually live in bum fuck no where for alright pay. Will never get rich unless you run a business or get lucky in a niche field. More graduates than there are jobs.
CS = Much easier than engineering and you can find great pay in great cities. Lots of jobs but there is fear of skilled immigrant labor and outsourcing crippling these benefits. Can definitely get rich more there is fierce competition and ageism.
Medicine = Slave away your 20s in academia. Mediocre pay in 30s in residency and non-specialty. Only start making bank in 40s when specialized. Difficult as fuck major but highly respected to normies. No ageism, in fact old age is good.
Math/Physics = Only make good money if they go into biz or CS. Good chance they will end up neets or academia slaves.

It's a few things. Decompressing files and directories for fast access, detecting any external frameworks that are necessary, setting up permissions. A lot of it is instructions and settings buried in the registry. That's what really screws ya. There are some portable apps that run from a self contained folder that are designed not to use the registry, but most shit won't do anything if you just copy it over to a new drive and boot from that.

Well, apparently it really was fucked. Store finally (3 fucking weeks) got back to me and said they managed to repro the issue on their labs.
At this point, after a terrible post-purchase experience, waiting 2 weeks without it being shipped, calling them 4 times, finding out they didn't have the card in stock, it arriving and not working, having to ship it back to them... I just lost all excitement I had.
I just want my money back. I guess I'll keep it saved up and buy something newer later on. I'll keep using my 970 and play on low graphics and under 144FPS.

Just bought a new 3rd party MacBook charger after the original died.
If I'm wearing headphones while this new charger is plugged in, there is a very noticeable crackling noise in the background.
I'm going to return this charger ASAP, but what does the crackling noise mean? What is the cause?
I don't really want to buy a new original charger for two reasons.
1. It costs 80€
2. Their build quality is shit and the "eco-friendly" rubber they use will disintegrate eventually.
But maybe if I know what causes this kind of static noise I'll know what to look out for to avoid this happening if I buy another model.

Seriously though, there's likely something messed up with your os that's causing it to trigger a restart, or you've got a hardware problem that's causing it to turn back on. Boot into a live usb and then shut it down and see if it still restarts. If so it's probably hardware related.
If not, check the software. Did someone mess around with the button order or shortcuts as a joke and you think you're shutting it down but are actually putting it to sleep? Verify you're actually telling it to shutdown, do it from the command line and see if it persists.
If it's doing a proper shutdown and still comes back on, I'd recommend a reinstall of your os, and maybe an exorcism. It sounds cursed.

Most likely the power supply is slightly out of spec and the different frequency power it is providing is causing something under the palm rest to give off an electrical gurgle which is being transferred into the trace that leads to your headphone port, putting pressure on the palm rest shifts whatever it is just enough to stop it
It's not just pressure, I tried putting a heavy weight on the palm rest and nothing changes. It's only affected if I touch it (presumably because it then gets transferred through me).
