I mostly do promotional stuff for sports events and festivals. You somehow have to make some shitty ramp where people sky into a lake look cool and exciting I still don't get why you need promo of an event after the fact.
We have render servers so the shit performance of Mac isn't too important
Stuff like automatic saves during crashes never seemed to work on Windows without breaking more complex stuff. Also Mac saves ram to disk when updating so you can go right back to work and you don't have to worry about automatic updates. Adobe stuff also crashes less even on hacintosh. Most of the industry either switched to hacintosh or Mac after the disaster that was the win 7 to 10 automatic update that broke pretty much everything imaginable
Things might have changed I wouldn't know but from what I've heard windows 10 has its fare share of issues

These. Linux as a development environment makes everything easy as fuck. Trying to develop shit on Windows is a nightmare.

There's nothing to set up on Linux in the current year. Grab a net install ISO for your favorite distro, format your disks, set hostname, choose KDE, and you're good to go. Takes like 10 minutes.

99% of software you'll ever need on Linux is already compiled. Package managers automatically resolve dependencies for the binaries they install. Most package managers now have a graphical frontend, so you select a package and click install.

On the forums I visit I've spun up VMs and compiled software for people and packaged it as a .deb for them. Maybe don't use Arch or other neckbeard shit.

The first thing I was greeted with right off the bat was having to edit a config file in order to add chromium to the quick launch thingy in the bottom panel. On Windows I would have had to just drag and drop it there.

Installing programs is literally the only thing Linux has going for it and even then it has many edge cases just waiting to waste your time, then you also realize the programs themselves love wasting your time too by making simple functions and avoiding issues the user's responsibility instead of the developer simply fixing those issues and lack of features, the tinkerer mindset of Linux is simply incompatible with people who want to do more than tinkering with the OS.

Now install a different version of that.

Installing software on Windows isn't hard to do. You rarely have to worry about OS version compatibility, dependency hell, and shit like that. The biggest problems with Windows is relying on the registry system, keeping software up to date, and not having something like Unchecky being a standard.
