I can't help but think a shape other than a cube would serve the function better.

Yes. pic related

Not being a wagecuck is infinitely more aesthetic.

Sure, somewhere and some time there will be a more æsthetic alarm clock, why not.

>Why, yes my alarm clock is a black Sony ICFC-1. How did you know?

Attached: gigachad.jpg (1242x1394, 156K)

> no wood grain
> No red 7seg LCDs
> No yellowed plastic

How can you even fucking call that aesthetic without all of those features

>Not an indestructible wood grain box from the 1970s that will outlast the human race

>time display is off centre
Literally couldn't stand to look at this garbage

Why would you buy an alarm clock when phones exist? Are you a movie character?

Why would you not just use your phone? Do you guys not have phones?

I can't reply with mine bc at work, but I have a much older Dream Machine clock radio my mom used in high school in the late 70's. Still works great and I use it now in my own place. My kids think it's cool

good for you, man

My circadian rhythm that wakes me up at 7 am everyday

office phones and wall mounts are cool.

Don't want to go all unabomber, but goddamn much tech has made us retarded.

Go to bed early, exercise, drink water, use your internal body clock.

Yes, but you might need to build it yourself.

it's just a clock, dude

Round, especially analogic mechanical time clocks, is the aesthetic and logical option.
Time is universal, cyclic, circular, spiral and transdimensional.

The circular shape embodies these characteristics and contributes further to the feeling of continuity.

Time is infinite, it doesn't stop, sharp edges and breaks have no place in a time piece.

a rooster

you are literally an idiot

Is this clock a time cube?

You know those exist, right?

Ayyyy

This here is the GOAT alarm clock. We have a simple but effective interface, a convenient design, digits that are sufficiently visible but not so bright they illuminate the room and interfere with sleep, and AM/FM radio. And it's time tested and proven to last fucking forever.

>being this slow

Yeah, but they are not readily available to the public, are they?

I think I'm gonna make my own alarm clock. What is the cheapest microcontroller in the market right now?

>Time is universal
What does it mean, universal? The universe has physical bodies with certain mass that all move in space, distorting it and creating their gravitational fields, and therefore distorting time in relation to other bodies. Time is local and relative.
>Time is infinite
in relation to what? According to which physical body? Amazing medieval physics you have here. Aristotle would be proud.

time is not universal, time on the 70th floor to below ground floor is different.

I have this one. It's a General Electric
> pic is not mine, btw

My dad has this one
It has been on duty since the mid 90's

>gonna make my own alarm clock
not again muhammad

Delet dis.

I had one of those. God Tier.
That window on the far left had a sprial pattern that ran with the motor so you could tell at a glance it was still running. It sounded good too.

yeah

You can't sleep with that in your room...

My body clock is all out of whack. Need some technology to redress it.

This is my current duty clock.

I miss having a clock you could see at night from your bed without having to roll over and look at your phone.

I think a post-scarcity civilization will look back on this century and interpret the electronic alarm clock as a wage slave torture device.

what's a good clock to put inside my PC case that's battery powered I'd like to have it displaying through the window.

my mum

>minimal
>purpose built
>functional over form

Based Unix Philosophy posters.

I had that one, only the whole thing was black. It was way too expensive for what it was, and stopped working quickly (I bought 3 of them, none lasted more than a year).

This thing, meanwhile, has bluetooth connectivity, so I can use my phone to make white noise while sleeping, has a usb port, so I can charge my phone while sleeping, and has multiple brightness settings, so I can make it very dim while trying to sleep. I also stop the color rotation, leaving it at a very dim red (the best alarm clock color).

I fucking had one of those beauties and I miss it all the time, take care of her user.

I've been using this one, it uses a piezo and basically jolts you awake with its shrieking.

Pic rel is a great birthday present I received last year, I could not go back to a traditional alarm clock now.

My grandmother had this one in her guest bedroom, it would wake me up during the holidays to the tune of the Beatles' "Here comes the sun". Feels.

Attached: wake-up light.jpg (1420x946, 67K)

If you're smart, you would have added in a bluetooth receiver.

Fuck off Shirou.

I have a job.

I generally wake up a few minutes before my alarm clock but it's nice to have a backup

I have the same Philips wakeup light and it's pretty sleek, however the clock isn't even radio controlled and you can't add your own wakeup sounds which is a disappointment for its price. Don't even use it as an alarm anymore, only as an ambient and reading light.

I have one too , I'm fine with the birds tweeting but what disappointed me was the quality of the audio both for the wake-up sounds (significant amount of white noise in the background at higher volumes) and for the radio. The Chink knock-offs at a third or a quarter of the price probably do just as good a job.

>not using a block of wood as an alarm clock

And they wouldn't be wrong

Lol, why are all your clocks so tiny and feminine. Real men have clocks bigger than themselves.

Attached: IMG_20190522_082117.jpg (4032x3024, 1.49M)

You need to sand and refinish your grandfather clock.

this is disgusting

I give you the Sony ICF-C3W, 25 years and going strong

Attached: icfc3w.jpg (300x201, 9K)

I don't use an alarm clock.

Only the big vertical ones.

Almost perfect, except for the clacking of the number flaps on the minutes.

Perfect.
