If you would like to try out GNU/Linux you can do one of the following:
0) Install a GNU/Linux distribution of your choice in a Virtual Machine.
1) Use a live image and to boot directly into the GNU/Linux distribution without installing anything.
2) Dual boot the GNU/Linux distribution of your choice along with Windows or macOS.
3) Go balls deep and replace everything with GNU/Linux.

what is the [BOOT] folder in system install ISOs? and why you don't see it on a CD on which you put the ISO?

when I mount -v iso/debian-testing-amd64-netinst.iso /mnt/tmp/ I do see a /boot/grub/ folder in there. and there is also a /EFI/boot.

Perhaps whatever ISO you are looking at is made differently. I don't know which you are looking at so idk. I could look at it if you're specific?
