Merely personal preference. You just happen to be extremely wrong.

My opinion is better than yours

Hideous and disgusting.

Themes and desktop environments are independent of distro.

By that metric, Fedora would be the best. By any other relevant metric, it would also be the best.

Ubuntu seems to ship all their DEs really polished. Have yet to see a non meme distro that ships a nicer xfce than xubuntu for example.

>"Have yet to see a distro that ships a nicer xfce than xubuntu for example"
>Wait fuck Manjaro proves me wrong
>"non meme"
GOTEEM

Ubuntu is the best distro, i use KDE though

butthurt meme distro user is butthurt

I would say Ubuntu is the best because it has the most support, but it's not the best looking. That goes to other distro's like 4M.

Xubuntu is way better looking default ubuntu is the ugliest shit i have seen in my life

this is the best way to run ubuntu based system

Xfce4 with i3-gaps twm and aesthetic background small and minimal xfce4 panel for all your application launching needs takes some configuring to get right though but you aren't scared of config files are you user?

Was Gnome designed for old people who have difficulties clicking on icons that aren't fuckhuge?

Exactly, glad you understand.

Prolly desu massive icons make me pu

>it's the best looking
Wrong.

>be me
>fall for loonix meme
>fan on full blast on idle
>install tlp
>nothing changes revert to win10

mementary OS looks better.
Pantheon is a better looking GNOME than GNOME.

But old ppl cant into hamburger menus so it's not for them either.
it's like some "proudly-bipolar" womyn is making the design decisions

XFeces is depreciated abandonware for old shitpads

Go back to fucking reddit you faggot Jow Forumsunixporn cuckboy
kys tryhard

Wrong.

my opinion is 2" longer

i dont like ubuntu 18.04 it feels so maci

I fell for the Elementary OS meme and it was terrible. Shittiest distro I've ever used.

Elementary is for plebs who don't realize you can customize any other distro to look just like that or better, without any of the shitty update problems and bloat.

>black = good looking

this is awful

You`ve got to be extremely dense and simple-minded to call "It`s good so it`s the best" a valid opinion.
And let me guess... you will reply to this with "I was just pretending" or keep on parroting your post like I said nothing at all.

This is the internet, pal. My opinion is better than yours. That's how we argue.

It used to look better.

Unity lets you autohide the dock and the top panel doubles as a menubar. For maximized windows it also integrates the titlebar. It might have two bars, but it is made for maximum screen real estate.
They of course fucked that up with GNOME.

>1280x1024
>black as my soul theme
is it 2006 again?

But can you arrange files in order YOU want?

Attached: penisw.png (1060x621, 396K)

You call that a desktop?

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 45K)

>here's your windows vista, bro

in unity the panel was actually useful though, not just unused space

Attached: 6WAsB.png (1680x1050, 95K)

both vanilla gnome and plasma look better though

is this silverblue?

imagine being forced to build instead of it being optional with source packages

Jow Forums hates ubuntu because it works

Sure I guess, this thread seems to be mostly desktop-oriented though, so relevant was intended to be interpreted as relevant for desktop. For (physical) servers, I would agree that Gentoo is the best, yes. It makes a compelling pair with Fedora when used as a host system for VMs/containers.

Imagine having such a small brain you think a distro can force you to do anything.
I introduce to you, by FAR the MOST versatile package manager. Far outshining any other, both in versatility, and in wealth of repositories.
curl.haxx.se/
AND you can EASILY install it on Gentoo and get access to all the binary packages you want, without even having to build the package manager itself. You can just get it as a binary using its built-in sister package manager:
gnu.org/software/wget/

it looked better when it used unity

...

Their new theme is fucking garbage. Default adwaita is better.

It's really sad that Canonical made the unity DE so tightly integrated with their Ubuntu ecosystem. So it was hard to import unity into other Linux based distributions or encourage other volunteers to continue developing it. I feel like the "closet" experience I get to unity in on KDE plasma now with the global menu bar and latte docker.

Distro is not equal to your GUI. By saying that you re showing us that you don t know the difference between distros. Arch or manjaros are great distros. It has been proven. But your WM is up to what you like to see : simple ? xfce. invisible gui ? i3. hardcore mod ? open box. pussy ? deepin, gnome, kde...

>Heh, I'm actually too intelligent for a modern interface...
This is what Jow Forums actually believes.

linux is the best distro of windows 10 you can download on steam without anti virus or email

Ubuntu Kylin is based.

I was just memeing, I can't see using it as my main desktop with gui as everyone here.
is there an easy way to use gentoo to build debian packages? I want to install it in docker or a simple chroot to build new packages for Debian or CentOS which I usually have on my laptop because they actually just work

this, just see this tipping fedora faggot
>heh, I bet you don't even know how to use i3, I'm so much better than you who only manages 5000 servers from a gnome desktop, pathetic

then change the theme you faggot this is linux who the fuck uses the default theme nigger

Read the op post, retard.

OEANGE DISTRO BAD

Please explain

>gnome
>best anything

best bait i have ever seen in Jow Forums desu

btw i tried Shituntu 3 years ago and i fucked out of there in 3 days because i hated how it looks.
i know you can change the DE but for a new user he won't realise this at all

Default GNOME looks better desu.

My opinion mogs your dad and fucks your sister

Gentoo is shit on servers
Its ok on embedded shit
Awkward and annoying on desktop

Nice reddit spacing and run-on sentences.

Spended 1,5 hour to install this shit, wtf? And why everything is so slow?

have sex

You mean mint.

It looks like mac from 2008, and elementary handles like windows ME, so I think you fucked yourself bud.

Attached: image0-255.jpg (640x480, 88K)

Orange is a terrible colour to use for UI.
Blue, white, grey are the cleanest colours you can use. Add a little translucency or transparency, and boom you got a nice looking UI.

Theres a reason apple and Microsoft both use these as a core for their os.

as someone who used to use linux, ubuntu was always the best looking ootb. it's a shame r*tard linux users basically killed unity by not using it and preferring gnome. unity was the best de that linux ever had. but linux users would rather use a "light" de on their ancient chinkpads than run something new and intuitive.

This said, unity is still the best DE Linux ever had. Bug free, used space well, and was easy to use.

Shame the Linux community is a bunch of spergs and killed it

>best looking
No

>Linux: Just do the same shit as everyone else but have a false sense of superiority about it.
Amazing
