The book store at Portland Community College, largest community college in Oregon (90,000 students/year) literally only sells Surface laptops. Considering what a liberal hell hole portland is im surprised they dont have an exclusive contract with apple.

What utter bullshit. Most college assignments only require a word processor capable of producing a .docx or other Office OOXML format, and a functioning web browser. In four years there was never a single assignment which required OS X exclusive software, mostly because there really isn't any OS X exclusive software that would be useful in a college classroom. I spent three of those years using Linux almost exclusively and typing papers either in LibreOffice or Google Docs, and never ran into an issue.
