can canonical be sued?
if it were to become part of the kernel, can Oracle sue Linux?
(aside the licensing)
why is ZFS better than BTRFS?

BTRFS sucks lol it crashed my pc once... EXT4 on the other hand :3
Just use ReiserFS instead. The performance is killer.
Ext4 varies between implementations, good luck importing a Linux partition on macOS.
Zfs can import datasets it can't even parse (like encrypted datasets from a newer version) and still treat it correctly. Btrfs used to have the edge of being able to downsize pools, but zfs recently got that too. The only negative is that the chosen zfs implementation when they merged was the Linux version (had encryption) and not the freebsd version(a lot more stable and better tested).
>why is ZFS better than BTRFS?

inb4 the flamewar ensues are there any viable alternatives?
thx
read the news about ReiserFS
the development is stalled becaues

the other one i found was bcachefs but seems kind of abandoned
btrfs is abandonware, bcachefs is the latest poorly justified linux NIH retardation
Are we suing Canonical or the Linux kernel? I can see suing Canonical but how do you sue a piece of software? Take it to court?
When did Canonical buy Linux? Have sex, OP.
>abandonware?
In what fucking way? Isn't it still worked on and used by SUSE (default in that distro), Facebook, Oracle, Fujitsu, etc?
>how do you sue a piece of software? Take it to court?
what is the linux foundation?
btrfs is anything but abandonware
literally almost every day a commit
yeah it's great it just doesn't work with vm disk images, databases, or web browsers, nevermind it's not great
literally zfs shill
i went to research the veracity of your claims
>disk images, database
it actually can
I've head you have to be a hacker to make full use of it.
if you manually disable cow on those files which makes btfrs pointless
btfrs is good enough
the whole thing about the license is a trap, it will never make it to the kernel, unfortunate
the linuxzfs team should have started from scratch and save us from the current scenario but no, it didnt happen
>The performance is killer
So is its creator.
xfs >>> all
>tfw just dropped Btrfs for XFS
Just wait for hammer 2
made me chuckle.
If you aren't using f2fs you need to drop the spinning rust.
>SSDs for storage
hopefully once bcachefs gets mainlined, we can finally have the best of both
>the performance is killer

>the other one i found was bcachefs but seems kind of abandoned
it's not, his official website isn't touched much, but his patreon and git certainly are

I used to think people like you were just pretending to be retarded but then it just kept going forever. Now I can't tell anymore.
