+1 Seongmyeong

Depends on your needs

For me it is Xubuntu on my main PC since I like xfce whisker menu, but on my less powerful PC it probably will be Alpine or Void+xfce as I need liteweight distro for 32bit PC with 1GiB of RAM.

For smartphones it will be Android, LineageOS and postmarketOS on LG G4, Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 and Nokia 1 respectively.

Each of these distros is the best for the kind of stuff I want to do with them on given hardware

are these threads made just to waste peoples' time?

Is there an OS that can run all windows games? If Linux had this functionality I would switch in a heartbeat

>Le Noobuntu
>Le Arch btw
>Le install Gentoo
>Le Debian so stable
>Le Mangaroo if you lazy
>Le Guix if you gay

>Le Fedora for le real business experience

Added for future posts.

What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is called GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

Thank you, I am interested in alternative OS as I feel I'm tied down by game compatability.

Windows 10

for me best distro is gentoo but arch is also good

>xfce
>tearing
>best

lol

What would you suggest then?

Vive la France !

debian sid i3wm like a real alpha male

based and pyongyangpilled

can you reccomend something non-tiling? I develop some apps that have to scale their gui and I'm not sure if tiling DE can help me with quick rescaling the program

dwm has non tiling and tiling option

i3-gaps for demi-tilling
or lxqt

Isn't that just a matter of enabling the full composition thing in the Nvidia settings?

not always

I like ubuntu and redhat distros, I only really use linux for servers. I feel bad for people who use, linux as a personal os, because it makes you think what kind of fucked up childhood they must of had to willingly use inferior software so they can gain approval of people on the internet.

>privacy and security ? wut is dat ? say the cuck

Ubuntu unless you want to impress the NEETs on here

>Red Star OS
Literally watermarks your files to make it easier for Fat Kim to track you.

It shows that the developers care about their users. You don't see other Linux developers going to such lengths to know their users intimately.
