R/AMD/ is already in full damage control mode

And the event hasn't even begun yet

Over?

AdoredTV admitting on Twitter that AMD chips don't boost to 5 Ghz but "can be OC to 5 Ghz", among other things

>adoredtv backpedaling about something
This happens once a month between amd announcing, and releasing.

>reddit user
Fuck off.

Fools

AMDrone only way to cope

8700k user here fag.

oh no no no amd bros this can't be possible, what do you mean by "ryzen can only be overclocked to 4.2 ghz" this can't be possible

@AdoredTV
Replying to @zeldor711 @TUM_APISAK

Just what I was told, the 12 Core boosts to 5GHz. Today however I was told that clocks were much lower than I had suggested but the chips still overclock to 5GHz, which I found strange as you'd think that if they OC to 5GHz then they'd boost to 5GHz...

AMD BROS NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

new fag here, can't wait to buy my 12c 5ghz ryzen

But hey, I'm sure you'll get a few ones anyway

>much lower
AMD are fucked.

Looking at Jow Forums right now it looks like Intel fanboys are the ones doing the early damage control.

NO, you're an intel shill
LISA PROMISED 5.0GHZ AND RYZEN IT'S GONNA BE 5.0GHZ THIS CANNOT BE POSSIBLE

>much lower
>probably 200-300mhz lower, if it can still reach 5ghz on OC
OMG RYZEN IS SHIT AGAIN OOOOOOOOOOOO

wtf bros
you mean the guy who is always wrong is wrong AGAIN!?!?!?

5GHz or no 5GHz, core counts on mainstream have doubled in the span of two years, we're getting PCIe Gen4 and far-better CPUs and Motherboards for AMD. Who gives a fuck.

AMD DRONES ARE ON FULL DAMAGE CONTROL

the idiots. AMD probably settled on lower clocks because of the IPC gains. They don't have to reveal their full hand, let Intel try to counter it first.

Exactly this. Why would you need a 5 GHz OC on 12/16 cores if you already have equivalent performance at lower clocks? It's more efficient, less brute force.

IPC? what the hell is IPC? frequency is the only thing that matter user!

>They don't have to reveal their full hand, let Intel try to counter it first.
more likely they're sandbagging ryzen 2 in order to force early ryzen adopters to change platform at least once before they get the hoped-for performance.
Is it going to work? We shall see. Definitely gives Intel a chance to close the gap.

full damage control OMG clocks doesn't matter

IPC is more important than raw clocks. This is the precise same reason why the Core 2 Duo @ 2.4 GHz outdoes a Pentium D at 3.6 GHz

And you don't even know shit.

t.AMD DRONE

or power rating

>uses an example of both Intel Products.
>AMD SHIILLLLLSSSSSSSSS
good lord, you're an idiot.

high clocks don't matter
avx512 doesn't matter
chipset temperature doesn't matter
stability doesn't matter
actual transistor scale doesn't matter

>high clocks don't matter
they really don't, as doing more with less clock is actually better.

Like What people said: Have you not learned from the whole Netburst vs Conroe debacle?

>no one believed in the first place
for fuck sake
we had multiple threads about it every single day since he released it you fucking faggot

latencies don't matter

Try harder. It was all IPC over frequency before. All. The. Damn. Time. We are stupid user, not senile.

Attached: .png (1472x442, 72K)

This. The only reason why Intel isn't doing this right now is that they've hit the proverbial brick wall when it comes to their architecture. If they had the leeway, they'd to something similar. Lower clocks but better IPC.

>clocks don't matter
L O L
O
L

can't wait to buy this shit

Both are important, neither is "more important" than the other. The fastest CPU is the one which can do the most work per unit of time and both clock frequency as well as IPC contribute to that. Neither can be practically increased forever and both will hit diminishing returns in the real world, so the best CPU is one which finds the correct balance between an architecture which runs at high clocks but does little work and the opposite.

meanwhile a binned 9900k is going to be available.
5.0Ghz on all 8 cores.
yet AMD can't do this on 7nm

If that were true you'd have a graphics card as your cpu

>CLOCKS DON'T MATTER!

>OP got assblasted in his other quasi identical thread.
>makes a new one one hour later

why is this allowed?

because this is not reddit
maybe you should go back to r/AMD where you can downvote all your troubles away

based

i can't actually believe fanboyism. i refuse to believe it exists. what the fuck is wrong with americans?

noooooooooooo.
at least i can get that 2070 navi for 250 bucks.

Attached: 1558183427873.jpg (785x731, 101K)

double that and you're on the money

>among other things
What other things?

high clocks don't matter
single core performance doesn't matter
avx512 doesn't matter
chipset temperature doesn't matter
stability doesn't matter
actual transistor scale doesn't matter
latencies don't matter
emulator acceleration (HAXM) doesn't matter
hardware lock ellision/transactional synchronization extensions don't matter
rapid storage technology doesn't matter
having a vcore lower than 1.4V doesn't matter
adobe products don't matter
gcc compilation (no segfaults) doesn't matter

Is this supposed to be a list of intel cope? Seems like it. But it's a bit too short.

Adored is the worst thing to happen to AMD since Bulldozer.

Here’s a little tidbit AMDrones won’t tell you.

Ryzen has mini temp spikes. I’ve built several AMD systems and the fans ramp up along with a 10 degree jump into in temps while doing very little. It’s a known bug that AND refuses to fix.

>AYYMD 16 cores is 300W HOUSEFIRES

AYYMD IS FINISHED & BANKRUPT

AYYMDPOORFAGS CONFIRMED ON SUICIDE WATCH

My 4790K also has "mini temp spikes", because CPUs use very little power when clocked down in idle, so when going from idle to a very short period of having to do something, you're going to see a significant bump in temperature. If your cooling system ramps up because of that, it's shitty or isn't configured properly.

AMD topped the sales at mindfactory.de (one of the largest PC hardware shops) for a while now.

You mean since JF-AMD, the actual AMD marketing shill who literally made up performance claims to hype up bulldozer and literally everything was wrong and a lot of people were pissed at AMD for letting their shills run wild like that

I'll take that over a 9900k starting my house on fire

I think because Germany announced one of the first Epyc (Rome) based supercomputers.

datacenterdynamics.com/news/24-petaflop-hpe-supercomputer-feature-amd-epyc-rome-cpus/

There is one with Hygon Dhyana aka Epyc (Naples) at #38 already (in China).

uh, or that, yeah.

muh niggerhurtz

I've been waiting for butthurt from overhyped and long overdue Zen 2.

>Jow Forums can only meme when proven wrong
literally google AMD temp spikes and fans ramping up, then google the same but replace AMD with Intel

Never happens on my 6700k

Mine might jump 3-4 degrees and it's always under 40 degrees. I've never once seen an Ivy Bridge, Skylake, or Kabylake CPU do this. Nice lie Moshe.

Hype or no hype, Bulldozer was a disaster. Single threaded performance was worse than Core 2 or Phenom. You can't brush it off as poor marketing, the problem was the engineering.

> worse than Core 2
Core2? Come on.

Core 2 Quads were still kicking phenom II's ass in certain programs retard, Phenom was a complete failure to launch. Phenom II was a borderline failure too and would have shit the bed completely if Intel had the sense to launch the i5s a few months earlier, for some reason they waited like a year after the i7 920 to launch the rest

>Single threaded performance was worse than Core 2 or Phenom.
Really? I had a very long pause in upgrading and went from Phenom II straight to first gen Ryzen. It was significantly faster but I didn't know the models between were a downgrade. Now I'm getting the third gen Ryzen since it's going to be significantly faster again.

No, GPUs are great for massively parallelized tasks to compensate for their small IPC and clocks, that's why we use them in AI networks and super computers.

But they can't replace CPUs as they lack the raw computing power and instruction sets.

Ahahahah what a day. First we are going to kick nigger out of the EU then Amdnegroids
