Who actually recommends it though? I only know people who tested and literrally everyone said it's decent but way too resource hungry, considering that a character is merely 8 bit large basically but those clients consume hundreds of MiB of RAM for nothing but such text.
Whatsapp claims 17MB RAM when running in background. Riot takes 100MB for doing the exact same shit: Receiving push notifications.
Nobody recommends riot. That's like saying "people recommend gnome3" just because some YouTube video of it with encouraging comments exists.
I mean really: Consider a Windows user switching to Gnome3. That file manager of gnomes has less features and much(!) less customizability than Apples retarded Finder.
