Yes and?
cant you fucking read you jewish piece of shit
Okay retard
this just means AMD makes more money from mobo sales
NICE
nooooooooo
>AMDrones swear by the B450 Tomahawk by MSI
>AMDrones shit on MSI for not allowing 1st gen boards for 3rd gen Ryzen
(lol AMDrones make up your mind
I can't wait to see the housefires with a B450 board
who the fuck would even put 1st gen cpu on a 3rd gen mobo? are you retaded intelshill?
Remember when shills claim they'll buy a 5Ghz, 16-core processor with their X370 board?
The backpedal and COPE is real
yeah if I can't get a 12 core on my x370 board I'm not buying one
"Selective Beta Bios update needed".
The mainboard manufacturers need to check if their old boards will support the new chips. Also, some (smaller) BIOS chips are full, they need to ditch some older CPU if they want to add new ones.
So an upgrade is possible, but the mainboard manufacturers need to do some work (Will they do it for their old boards? Who knows).
Does your office in Israel, where you post from, have air conditioning?
Are you retarded? Why would someone even want to put a 1st gen CPU in a 3rd gen board?
They should've just announced AM4+., because it's the same logic.
So what you are telling me is that shit tier AM4 boards won't run a 12 core processor?
even my x370 gaming 5 confirmed for 3rd gen support already
whole of asus line confirmed last week
MSI x370 boards confirmed as far as I know.
Asus will support it, while the jews at Msi won't that was what Linus said.
x370 boards ditch APU support, who the fuck needs it anyway it got no video outputs
gigabyte.com
even gigabyte supports 3rd gen.
"If you own an AMD 300-series motherboard and are looking to upgrade to Zen 2-based Ryzen 3000 series processors, you have nothing to worry about, as long as your motherboard vendor puts out a BIOS update that adds compatibility (most vendors already have). If you belong to the demographic which has a 1st generation Ryzen "Summit Ridge" processor or Ryzen 2000 "Raven Ridge" APU laying around and looking to buy an AMD X570 motherboard, we have some bad news for you.
AMD X570 apparently only supports 2nd generation Ryzen "Pinnacle Ridge" processors among the previous generations. The chart below indicates compatibility. It says that while AMD 300-series and 400-series chipsets very much do support the latest Ryzen 3000 series processors launched today, the new X570 chipset only supports "Pinnacle Ridge" processors from the previous generation, besides the latest "Matisse" processors (and the upcoming "Picasso" APUs). 400-series chipsets have the best compatibility. They support every AM4 processor launched so far."
Nice linux shill tips.
I'm pretty sure my X370 Asus has video ports, as long as a fuck ton of other boards.
If I can't use a 16core on it I won't buy it. I sure as fuck won't be buying a new motherboard when DDR5 and a new socket is coming out within 2 years. If I wanted to buy a new motherboard every 2 years I'd have went with Intel.
I have a B450, completely unaffected. Why would anyone care about not being able to use Gen 1 processor on a new X570 board? It's like buying a Ferrari and expecting it to also run welll on diesel instead of petrol.
Damn those ASUS motherboards seems really good.
It's niche, but this hurts someone on a 1st gen Ryzen and a dead, out-of-warranty mobo. Or someone like me who wants to upgrade to an X570 because my X370 won't ever support >3200 MT/s RAM
so does this mean there will only be new x570 mobos?
B450 was enough anyway
but you can use third gen ryzen on 1st gen MSi board you fucking dumb jewish cuck.
Oh no, my few year old 65€B350 4 phase (no VRM heat sink) can't handle a 135W 16c processor. What to do :D
You realize it's the VRMs not the chipset that limits the CPU you can run, right?
forgive him. He can't even refute why Intel chose to go with the Core architecture versus Netburst.
This is the same person who thinks a 3.6GHz Pentium 4 would be better than a Core 2 Duo @ 2.20GHz
The same idiot would probably bust an early LGA-775 Socket CPU by putting it on an incompatible board.
RIP AMD
INTEL NUMBA ONE
Listen, kid.
Once upon a time, Intel had the LGA-775, and no idiot would put a Conroe Core 2 on the oldest LGA-775 Socket board. Learn your company history, shill.
Amada is cute but dead!
They could release multiple BIOS versions each supporting a different set of CPUs
Intel shill did not know that this was the same case with the LGA-775.
Chipsets != sockets. the X570 has no obligation to support Gen1 Ryzen.
Besides B550 will be that all-around board.
Can't put a 9900k in H81 can you? Can't put a 4790k in H310 either. Cope harder.
You ok man? Your autism seems to be flaring up.
>my b350 is still getting supported for 2 gens and might get 3rd gen support
holy shit amd is based.
Who the fuck is going to put a first gen Ryzen in the newest high end Motherboards designed for 3rd gen? Only people buying first gen ryzen now are budget-conscious buyers. They're gonna buy b350/b450.
> and might get 3rd gen support
But will it get PCIE4, though. That is the question I keep asking. Well, back to waiting, hope somebody will compose a list of mobos with the 4th gen PCI Express support.
X470 is pretty sweet, but I might still get an X570 board. Maybe.
Get a x470?
Pretty sure you won't get pcie4 on anything that isn't x570(or b450/a520 once those come out).
On the faint print it says the X470 is PCIe 4 ready. How about x370 with the selective beta bios update?
Look at the faint print on the X470 part.
>Mfw own an Asus Crosshair VI X370 motherboard
>Mfw still going to buy the X570 Crosshair VIII
NO ONE CAN STOP ME
It's already the case.
Gigabyte's B350 boards latest BIOS update ditched the bristol ridge APUs because of the BIOS size limit, they'll probably dump all APUs for Zen 2
MSI B350 Gaming Plus, it's listed in their "shit we'll release an update for" but time will tell.
I'd settle with up to a 3700X personally coming from a 1600 or hold out for B550 and drop MSI.
Still better than changing sockets every damn year.
First PCI-e slot on some X370 and X470 boards will get PCI-e gen 4
WTF
WHY DID I LISTEN TO Jow Forums AND BUY X570
CANT EVEN RUN MY 1700X
I NEED THIS PC FOR PRODUCTIVITY
>update chipset
>update bios
>install Zen 2
>watch incel shills cope
Nice.
Cancel the order faggit.
...order an X470 instead. Do it like a rational person. If you want to go for the 3900X, you can at least use the 3900X on the X470.
Though I speculate that the B550 will be the compatibility board for everything.
> B550 will be the compatibility board for everything.
No way, why would they cut compatibility on the top of the line chipset and keep it for a budget board. Either old Ryzen CPUs can't drive new peripherals for some fundamental reason, or they aren't "officially" supported.
>1st gen ryzen not supported on x570
that's weird.
niche case I know, but someone putting a PC piece meal system over time would miss not being able to test his new mobo with his old 1xxx chip.
and yeap, I am that niche case, or could be.
It is more like AMD and motherboard partners didn't bother doing QA on 5xx to make sure that first-generation Zen will work on it in order to have 5xx boards meet their launch schedule.
I'm sure that Zen1 will work fine, but AMD and motherboard vendors cannot guarantee it.
new amada!
thanks. have one of my rares as a thank you.
>mfw I update x370 board BIOS and slap in a 3900x
Intel please get your shit together, I want to see that Zen 2 16 core sooner.
Who will be buying a brand new X570 mobo and a 1st gen Ryzen? Literally no one. If you suddenly need a new Ryzen 1xxx compatible mobo X470 will still be available.
More concerning is the non assured compatibility of X370 and Ryzen 3xxx, but almost all X370 mobos (even cheaper ones) seem to be fine.
I just told you a very reasonable case.
have your ryzen 1 laying around. get a new mobo, piece meal, you're on a budget and you went for the mobo first, a good a sale, maybe. The mobo was delivered and you want to test it. maybe you already sold your old x370 by then, and not only for testing pruposes, you'll be actively using it on such a setup for a while.
that doesn't even sound like an extreme case to me. I brought it up but backwards compatibility creates all sorts of chaos. and that's good.
Let me get that right
>You buy e.g. Ryzen 1700 and X370
>You need a new mobo
Then you buy X470, it's still a very capable platform. Problem solved.
Everything makes sense here.
Any word on mobo prices yet?
Something tells me they're going to be $200+
> x370 will get pcie gen 4 first slot
Source sauce needed
makes no sense for them to do all of the work/validation testing for support so it wont be supported.
end of story
My thoughts too
> have your ryzen 1 laying around.
Sorry, this is extremely niche and stupid
> get a new mobo, piece meal, you're on a budget and you went for the mobo first, a good a sale, maybe
If you are then you have no business buying an X570 that cost more than your dam processor.
> The mobo was delivered and you want to test it. maybe you already sold your old x370 by then, and not only for testing pruposes, you'll be actively using it on such a setup for a while.
You have to be 18 years old to use this site. Yor underage retard brain is showing.
> extreme case to me
because you're young and dumb and an extreme poorfag.
>Let me get that right
you failed.
have a 1700x on a x370
you "want" to upgrade. you don't need it but you want it.You spread each purchase over time, because shit's expensive. Wait what was that that new mbo was on sale? you got it first, as the first purchase for your new system. then someone offered a good deal for your own old mobo after they heard you were upgrading. There. now you're left with a ryzen 1700x and a x570 motherboard.
> POOR FAG
You're an extreme case that no one cares about thus why mobo manuf are not even putting in the time to write in the bios code/or do validation testing and/or waste the precious memory space needed. If you bought an X570 board which will be expensive, your dumbass should have enough for 3rd gen processors or at least 2nd gen. Sell the 1700x and stare at your board while you save mommy's allowance for a 2nd or 3rd gen ryzen proc and remind yourself of what an idiot you were by putting money into non functional electronics that depreciate fast because some e-tailer gave you $20 off.
just remove your head from your asshole you insufferable idiot. I'm not even a x370, but i might as well couldv'e been. Went for x470 that was launched right about when I was making my final purchases. So I was left with a ryzen 1 and a x470.
>Wait what was that that new mbo was on sale?
Do your research and this isn't a problem. If you dont and make a bad purchase, it's your fault, not AMD's or the mobo manufacturers'. X470 is there for this use case.
Or, actually you can do the ACTUAL smart move and save your cash until you buy the new CPU and mobo simultaneously, or even buy the Ryzen 3000 first and the mobo second. All of these options are perfectly fine and come at 0 inconvenience to the user, just have to think a bit.
So if my B350 supports the 3900X what is the caveat? This is the lowest end of the 300 series motherboards and it does have a BIOS update for the 3900X series but something must be traded off.
probably no tradeoff just don't overclock or your board might pop
wait for some testing to go up before you buy one
>probably no tradeoff just don't overclock or your board might pop
Does this also mean I would need to turn off Boost?
get ready for underpowered madness. This used to happen with AM3 boards and the FX series. When you insert the 8-core on an underpowered board, you get throttled down like a turtle.
Not all manufacturers will release it. It might drop support for earlier CPUs without downgrading BIOS
>just remove your head from your asshole you insufferable idiot.
What is this screenshot supposed to do for me? I
own a kikeripper with 3 GPUs and 3 nvme drives. I also actually on a handful of 1700 builds.
> I'm not even a x370, but i might as well couldv'e been.
Then wtf are you running your stupid mouth about?
> Went for x470 that was launched right about when I was making my final purchases. So I was left with a ryzen 1 and a x470.
Then you're fine mongoloid. Your hypothetical makes zero sense. No wonder its malformed.. It's a dumbass hypothetical
>B350 supports the 3900X
Good luck trying to run a 105w tdp CPU with B350 VRM.
no if the VRM can handle an 1800x it should handle a 3900x
>AMD
Chipset costs like, sub 10bux.
Has anyone ever blown a b350 board even with overclocking? There's hardly an epidemic happening.
B350 with Ryzen 2000 series you already miss some features like boost can't do as much. Same thing with the Ryzen 3's, works but you'll misses out on some features and won't get the highest possible automatic boost clocks.
based retard
Nobody would ever do this. Even if it worked and someone told me they did this, I'd laugh at them for being retarded.
>two year old mobo
>out of warranty
How?
your granny got you a brand new x570 motherboard after you cashed in your gud boy points and your cousin gave away his old ryzen 1 to you, gecause you are his favorite trap
does this fit your demographic better?
lol the damage control is in full effect today
No. What the fuck is wrong with you?
LMFAO
i don't know, steve from gamer nexus said that you can't, and then deleted that video
idk if he was talking about the 16cores,but obv no one is gonna use the 16cores on a 4phases mobo
but still it would be sad if you can't use neither the 6 or 8 cores
Steve seems to be getting absolutely everything wrong in relation to ryzen 3000.
i really hope that's not the truth, i will probably change motherboard anyway but i bought 1st ryzen and b350 only for the upgradability, so if the MSI marketing office decided that they lost a potential client
Watching him eat crow is satisfying.
